I did a cleanse and now I'm always bloated and constipated. What should I do?

Answer

After cleansing, it might take several days for enough waste to gather in your colon to trigger the defecation reflex.  You can help the process by drinking at least one quart of water a day and choosing a high fiber diet with bran cereal, fresh vegetables and fruit with skin and seeds, dried beans, and whole grains. Increase your fiber intake gradually and use BEANO to avoid gas.  Any exercise that jars the GI track, like walking, running and jumping rope, helps too.  You should also know that there is no scientific evidence to support the need for colon cleansing.
