Clementines, my candy...

Quote  |  Reply

I love citrus fruit. Well, I love fruit in general. BUT, I love citrus fruit so much right now.

Especially Clementines. I bought a bag of like, 30 at the store for 4 bucks, and I can eat 2 of them for a snack and be totally satisfied, and I think it's less than 60 calories. Only downside I can think of is the sugar...But I spread it out over my morning until lunch, so I think I'm okay.

Point is, have a craving for sweet? Clementines are easy to peel (literally, like 1 piece peel!), sectioned so neatly, and super juicy and sweet! I'm in tangeriney heaven ♥

Yes. Clementines are awesome! :D Awesomer than awesome!
Clementines are outstanding.  We just started getting them in, in Tenn...great great food.
They're pretty good in salads too.
I looove them, I'm working my way through a crate of them myself ;) Great for the little ones too.

I think I need to research what I can use them in, other than salads....

Any ideas or recipes guys?

mix them in vanilla yogurt
mmm my hubby and I just went through a big bag of them, too! They're delicious and I was seriously craving citrus fruit. My 4 year old likes to take the peel and sniff it because it smells so good. Darn I wish I had some more. I also bought some tangerines, which were not nearly as good and has a bazillion seeds.
Fruit!  My daughter is eating fruit!

My visiting sis bought a bag of these and my teen says they peel real easy and she went through several at a sitting, asking me to buy them again.  Is it possible she doesnt know theyre fruit? :D

Theyre being heavily advertised grocery recently.
I used to love citrus fruit, including clementines, mardarins etc. (still do like the taste) but during my teens I discovered that eating them gives me headaches.

Unfortunately the worst thing in the world is the smell of somebody peeling clemetines and mandarins. If somebody peels one in a 1000 person lecture theatre, I get a headache. If I walk into a train carriage or bus where somebody has been eating one, I get headache. etc. So all I ask that while you are enjoying the fruity goodness of citrus fruit in winter, if you are in a social situation, to think about showing consideration for those of us who have alergies to such things.
clementines are my favorite! They are so popular this time of year. We just finished a bag of them - i wanted to buy a crate but they didn't have any at the grocery store. I love the little clementines! I can eat like 3 of them at a time. Yummy! I wish I had one right now....
Clementines are yum, their existence is the only redeeming quality about winter.

I think I'm going to continue to bring one bag in a week for the office. It's a healthy treat, and a good chocolate exchange XD haha!

clementines rock...and i love how easily they peel!

i remember we went to a christmas party a few years ago and there were all these really yummy looking cakes and a big bowl of clementines...i ate about 5 clementines and had absolutely no interest in the cakes...

You want what I call "clementine candy"?  Peel a couple, section them and let them sit out for a couple of hours so the skin dries a little.  Then they are like crunchy juicy candy - SO AMAZING!

Clemmies rock. I've found that the Spanish ones pale in comparison to the Moroccan ones, though. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Occasionally, with clemmies of any origin, we'll get a crate that seems to have been picked from among the breeders of the field - it's as if every "pod" has 4 or 5 seeds! I suppose the next time that happens we'll juice the lot instead.

I'm a big fan of clementines! If I ever have a daughter I will name her Clementine in honor of my favorite fruit. I had five of them today, just love 'em...
Ohh, a clementine is a mandarin!
*feels completely stupid*
Yeahh.. I love them too. Here in Australia we call them mandarins.,

Sunkissedbliss: Ahhhh haha, nah, we call them tangerines, clementines, mandarins....

Depends on the type i guess.
