Climbing gym, yoga, strength

Quote  |  Reply

So, I went to the climbing gym last night with some friends. I hadn't been since sometime in December before the holidays. In the last month, I've been doing iyengar / vinyasa yoga about twice a week. There were two climbs that were hard for me the previous time, that I got through easily this time. I hadn't gotten any more skilled at climbing. It felt like I had a lot more leg strength, perhaps from all those warrior poses. And a little more upper body strength, maybe from yoga and gym?

I still don't have a lot of endurance, I did 3.3 climbs plus belaying, and that was enough. The .3 was one that was hard for me that I stopped in the middle. :-) And there is so much more to learn in skill.

Anybody other climbing gym fans, here?

yes!! I haven't done it in a while but I love climbing, it's so much fun.

I haven't done it in years, but it's so much fun.  I remember being completely exhausted after a good day of climbing.  I don't think I've felt that way after any other workout I've tried.   Would love to get back into it, but I don't live near a climbing gym anymore, and I don't have any friends who are into it right now.
