Clinton/Obama: how's that for a ticket?

Why don't politicians ever do something like this? Seems like it would help their chances of winning the White House.

I agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That would be the perfect combination.
CryGod help us all if that ever happens!!!
Neither would be happy with that arrangement. Voting against Clinton, I would feel sort of betrayed if Obama took her as a running mate.
Why would neither be happy with that arrangement? They've worked together successfully in the Senate, they seem to respect one another (maybe that's just for show?).

And then everyone who likes either of them, would have a reason to vote in November. Betrayed or not (and I know that emotions run high on this primary matchup, in particular), you'd still vote for the combo if your person were in it, right?
That sounds like a great idea to me!!

*cringe*

My guess is that someone would assassinate one so we have two "First" presidents that term.

I'd like to see Obama/Edwards.

That would be a trainwreck. Clinton would polarize the Obamicans (Republican Obama supporters).

Some Republicans will vote Obama, Some Democrats will vote McCain but only Hillary fanatics will vote Clinton.

The last thing this country needs is another Clinton media fest. They have way too much baggage to be back in the White House & Bill has been off the hook. How distracting!

I'd much preferr Obama/Clinton.. or better yet Obama/Edwards.  I happen to think that Edwards is holding out an endorsement so he can become Vice and I also happen to think that Obama & Clinton are a bit too far apart to team up.  However, I'd still vote for Obama even if Clinton was tagged on.
Please God NO!  I don't want to have to move to Canada.  Hubby and I did vote dem for the first time though just to take away votes for Hillary.
steffiesue, you are the first person I know of who would move to canada to get away from the democrats. I know some who have moved here to get away from the republicans. ;)
Unfortunately, Canada no longer grants immunity to American deserters. So the Republican refugee influx should slow down a little :)

I think Obama and Clinton are trying so hard to delineate their postitions that a joint ticket would diminish the credibility of each.

I can envision Obama/Edwards.
I didn't mean deserters, kathy. Just liberals who decided they were more at home up here.

Diminished credibility... hmm. I don't see that, but then again, I'm not American, so I'll take your word. I worry, though, that when either one of them win the primary, the supporters of the other will vote McCain rather than vote for their "rival".
I'm sure that's the republican's only hope. The democrats will still vote with Obama, rather than flip. He's not hated, and the position of the democrats is so directly opposite the republicans in this race, they won't feel compelled to abandon the party over it. IMO
NO!

Ok,  not likely to happen but I would go for McCain/Obama

S.

so not a fan of the clinton/obama ticket.

on the surface the two have very similar policies, but very very different ways of going about them.  plus, they wouldn't beat mccain.

i'm not really a fan of the obama/edwards ticket either...as much as i love john edwards.

i think obama needs a governor as his running mate, preferabley from the south, and preferably with military experience.

and i can't wait to vote for BO tomorrow!

but don't forget that kerry did reach out to mccain to be his running mate in 2004...

i'm sure they've thought about it.  i'm sure they're thinking about it a lot.

Most dems I've talked to say that while they favor one or the other, no matter who wins they are voting against the republicans. So while some may feel like they can't vote for their choice's "rival", the overall movement is just trying to get rid of the republicans!

Hasn't Hillary as much as said that if she loses, she'll vote obama?

And Obama vote Clinton?

However, I can see moderates being turned off by a Obama/Clinton ticket (I would be too!)

I am a republican, but I would vote for Clinton/Edwards ticket.  Not Obama.  He will not keep his promises.
