CLOSED **lose 50lb by December 09' **
Hi everyone =)
I'm looking for friends who would like to embark on a "exercise&eat-healthy" journey to lose about 55lb (25kg) by 12/09
I am very determined to recover my original healthy weight of 105lb (48kg) by my 21st birthday and keep it off!
I've tried many fad diets in the last 3 years...the Master Cleanse, Denmark diet, "one-food" diet (only eating apples/ tomatoes/corn/etc) the "skinny bitch" vegan diet, was vegetarian then piscatarian, been on a detox after a detox after a detox if I was not fasting... After losing weight on each of these diets and detox I always regained it back in time...
(edit:remove quote)
Now I am seeing a dietition, physiotherapist, personal trainer and a nurse regularly to keep my weight loss on track=) I am also exercising at least 1hr per day.
Join me if you would like to share progress, support, and tips!
Hi, I'd like to join. I'm looking too loose a total of 85 lbs, but 55 by December seems like a good goal. I'm 5'2 and currently weigh 219. My plan, that works when I'm a good girl, is eating around 1350 and a total burn of about 2300. I'm trying to get walking exercise 5 days a week of at least 45 mins. I'm trying to find good exercise videos for when the weather is bad. I love netflix watch instantly, it lets me try different types of work outs.
Good luck to us all!
I would like to join too!! I am 23 years old, 5'4 and 183lbs I have already lost 51 lbs. But would still like to lose another 50-60 lbs. I go to Curves 3-4 times a week for 30-40 minutes, plus I am a stay a home mom of a 2 year old daughter and a 9 month old son, so I am busy running around after them taking them for walks to the park and so on.
Count me in !!!!!
I would like to give it a try also. I am 36 and currently weigh the heaviest I've ever been and need to do something. I am not getting the support I need at home so I could sure use a buddy. I am suppose to get 1450 calories a day.
hey i would love 2 join my start weight was 182lb i am down to 172 now my goal weight is 128 by december 20 th so this challenge is perfect for me im 5,4 and 24 years old, i have been working out and eating wholesome healthy food i feel fantastic:) i would love to share some tip with people does anyone else swear by lemons they are meant to really help with weight lose i am eating 1250 cals a day atm x
hey i think i'd like to join =) i'm going to the Philippines this december for my sister's wedding and i'd love to hang out on the beach without feeling terrible, and i'd also like to impress my relatives whom i haven't seen for 9 years, cause they've always known i was overweight. i'm about 5'10 1/2-5'11 at 200 lbs right now, hoping to get down to 150 as a long term weight, 160 by december would be fine, too though =) i've been really bad about exercising, but have started taking my dogs out for longer walks since the weather has been improving.
and like you luvly i have tried many diets in the past..they worked, but then in the end i ended up gaining it all back. are you vegetarian? i recently became vegetarian for health and ethical purposes, and its going great. but since becoming veg i've been eating a lot of crap like veggie burgers, lots of sweets and other refined carbs..so i realized i needed to stop this madness and eat better! i recently read one of Dr. McDougals books, and it concentrates on eating a grain and starch based diet with very low fat <10%. and now i'm in the middle of reading Dr Fuhrman's Eat To Live, which is based heavily on fruits veggies and beans, little grains, low fat but not to the extent of Mcdougal. not sure if i'm going to embark on it fully, but perhaps use some/most of his eating principals.
anyways, hope to get to know you all =)
you have done it all..for sure..with the help you have now you will succeed.
I firmly believe in some fasting and once or twice a year cleansing...however I found this year for me was truly different in that I introduced more cereal grains with veggies, fruits and some nuts.
I also completely stopped eating all meat including fish and poultry. I have dropped from 202 to 178 as of today in less than 3 months.
..this time I will keep it off because I have retained my taste buds..no white sugar or flour, caffeine and very little salt. I drink mostly water including several days of distilled water only.
I eat slower too, enjoying the food and know when I am full..I found my body will eat high volumes if I eat fast and even on a vegan diet i was not losing weight as I eating high volumes that my body did not need. So eating habits had to change too.
Hope this helps because losing weight year after year then putting it back on makes no sense.
..with CC I was able to make sure I get all my nutrients and would take a multi-vitamin maybe once a week...but as long as I slept well, was happy, had stamina and my blood pressure was perfect..I know I will never gain this weight back again.
Good luck...
Hi there Chibipanda =)
Iam not a vegetarian anymore as it is was quite hard to eat vege diet when i was travelling 2 months over nov/dec last yr.
However, I have always prefered eating seafood over meat and poultry and would not eat meat unless stuck in an akward situation ( i.e when invited over or going out to dinner with other ppl).
And yes, I did too have a bit of a problem being a vege and going mad on carbs! i love beans ( e.g hummus ) , sweet potatos, corn, bread and all my fruits!I think that using selective food diets are not really meant for weight loss though it maybe a side effect. we dont necessarily need to exclude food groups for weight loss... it maybe a cliche but its true when they tell you " eating everything in moderation/ small portions and exercise is the best way to lose weight" =)
Thank you everyone for your posts!
I have closed this group so I felt that a small group would be easier to keep on track and manage, I hope this is okay with you all.
This way we can all get to know each other better and hopefully motivate us to keep our progresses on track too =)
oh i forgot to mention my stats last time:
height : 160cm
weight: 67.5 kg (19/apr/09)
waist: 88cm
I was thinking if a weekly weigh-in session would be a good idea either on thursdays or fridays ( before the weekend when our weight might fluctuate a little).
Keep me posted!
=)
a weekly weigh in sounds great help alot 2 keep us all motivated what does everyone reckon the average a week is is it about 2lb i cant wit to be body confident i have never had that but i feel great already cant wait for it to be a reality for me instead of a dream x :)
Fridays are great for me, I tend to weigh in then and then 'start' my weeks on Sunday. This week is not off to a good start for me (Dairy Queen and a late night Arby's run, but I managed to stay at maintenance instead of completely blowing it) but that will be the ONLY day this week that I fall off the wagon. The weather should be good enough for me to get a walk in and if not there is always Netflix.
Good luck this week!! Lets ditch some of this flab!
Friday is good for me too!!
Great =) I will start weighing in on fridays starting this week. But if other days suit better, feel free to when it is more suitable.
hmm...xbinxy1x im not too sure what the average loss per week is but the healthy range that you could lose and keep off is 1lb to 2.2lb ( so 0.5kg-about 1kg)
It actually requires a lot of effort to lose 1 kg/2.2lb a week! I will be so happy if i can lose 0.5kg each week till end of the year =) then I would have lost beyond my goal!
remember that a slow steady weight loss is what is require to keep it healthy and keep it off without the yo-yo effect.
Not a good week for me, I actually gained a pound ![]()
I completely rearranged my schedule and I'm having a hard time getting my excercise fit in. A new week is starting though, and this one will be better! Just have to turn the frustration into motivation.
