Clothes didn't fit - now they do!!!!!!!

Quote  |  Reply
So after losing just over 20 lbs, I thought, there's no way some of my summer clothes from two years ago won't fit (I was too fat to wear them last year - thankfully capri's will still be fashionable this season lol!).

And now I have a pile of clothes on the bed that FIT!!!!!!!!!! I am so ready for spring to hit!!!! Capris, skirts, shorts & jeans! yay!!! I also have a "need to lose 10-20 more lbs" pile, so hopefully by summer those will fit too. Sheesh I used to be a lot smaller!

Anyway, this post is to inspire some of you who haven't gone through your "used to fit me" closet & try those clothes on!!!!!! Some just might fit!!!!!!!!!!!

im still waiting for my suits to fit again

hopefully soon!
I just bought a corset for my sister's wedding (I'm gifted in the chest department and need it for a strapless dress)... I have *another* wedding in August. Right now the corset's cinched with about a 3 inch gap.  By August, I'd like it to be a closed or nearly closed gap! :)

We'll see.

I still feel really fat in it.  :-(
I tried on a skirt that I bought about 4 years ago when I was a bit tinier (okay, my weight has only gone up about 15lbs from my lightest 5 yrs ago..) and I definitely wasn't expecting it to fit but it fit very comfortably!

I'm kind of scared to try the jeans though :-\  My thighs are large from muscle, and that's usual what doesn't fit in my pants :( boo.
I already posted this in another thread this morning,  but im really proud. =-)

This morning I was looking for my jeans (casual friday at the office) and my normal "fat guy" pants were in the wash, on a whim I tried on a pair of pants I havent been able to wear in months and they FIT! I couldnt even button the damn things in December. It was a great feeling of accomplishment and Im as motivated now as I was when I started 6 weeks ago!

Ive lost about 15 pounds in the last 6 weeks. I still have a LONG way to go, but its sure nice to know progress is being made.
This is exactly what I'm hoping will happen to me by summer! I have a huge stack of pants I can't fit into and I refuse to buy more pants at my current size. So I need to lose the damn weight!
congrats on fitting into some of your old clothes again deejlb!!

it's so exciting!  you get a new wardrobe and it doesn't cost a thing!  (money-wise that is haha).  i can't wait until i get to go down another jean size (it's been a while now).

Awesome, everybody! I guess we're doing the right things then!!! New clothes for all of us!!!!
Congrats everyone!!

clothes fitting is great. Ive lost 38 lbs and only have one pair of jeans left that dont fit yet. but they will, soon-ish :) like in the next 2 months max! I started out with a pile of probably 10 pairs of jean that wouldnt even pull up all the way, including that last pair that wouldnt even go higher than my knees.

Keep at it everyone! soon you'll be like reminiscing (sp?) and cheering at the same time that the first pair you fit back into are just simply too big to wear in public now.
Hee hee... totally relate! I first started getting serious about losing this weight when I tried on THE PANTS and they didn't fit!! (These are black dress pants that I wear for work, when I have to dress up for work, which is rare - only a few times a year).

Six months of exercise and THE PANTS finally zipped up, but they looked horrible ... camel toe, unsightly thigh creases (because thighs are too wide)  and odd lumpy butt bulges.... then calorie counting since January and I just recently put on THE PANTS on again ... and they look good again!! They are even comfortable, and my butt looks good again!

What's more, the pair of pants I bought as "emergency fat pants" for a business trip are now too baggy on me. But, I still have a pile of clothes that I'm about 5 lbs away from... they zip, but kinda make me look like I'm wearing sausage casing, if you know what I mean....

And don't laugh but, my underwear finally fits me again! I really needed to buy a bigger size when this weight came on, but I was too cheap and depressed to bite the bullet and do it. So I kept wearing the usual size, even though they were digging into me and causing unflattering lines... really ugly..

I've had the same experience!

Fitting into smaller clothes is an awesome fun time!!!

Summer is going to be great with a whole "new" wardrobe!
Congratulations deejlb!!! Isnt it GREAT!!!
Congratulations Dee, that is fantastic.
I am down 12 pounds since I last wear shorts. (have lost it since Jan 8 this year) I could zip them up but they weren't very attractive on me. Really tight.  I have not tried any summer stuff on yet though.  It snowed a lot this week so I'm still in winter mode.  Great job everyone.
Thanks everyone!!! Let's all look hot for summer!!!!!
I love when that happens. Now, I've got the urge to try on my trench coat. When I was at 240 it fit, but it was so tight, and I couldn't zip it up. Then I tried it on a few months ago, I don't know how much I had lost then, but I zipped it(it was extremely tight being zipped). Well, now I want to try it again. Before I started this journey, my boyfriend left his belt at my house, and I wanted to wear it to school. I could barely get it on the last notch, and it was so incredibly tight that I had to take it off at school because it hurt. Well, a few weeks ago I tried it on again because my boyfriend wore my belt and I needed one, and it fit! I got in on the 5th notch, and it was lose. It felt amazing. Also, I had a skirt that was from hot topic (xxl), and it was gorgeous, but I tried to wear it on the first day of school last year and it hurt me too bad so I changed my outfit. Well, that thing is just so big now I can't wear it at all. Kinda sad actually, it was a beautiful skirt. I also had a corset from hot topic (xxl), and I no longer have it because it got too big to wear. I've got so many little stories of things not fitting. I recently gave all of my fat clothes to goodwill. : ) Did it ever feel good to say goodbye forever to those clothes. I will never again fit in a size 18/20. Hehe!
