First of all....congratulations! Way to go!

It really depends on the brand. I currently have in my closet -- size 10 and 12. Both fit and are completely different brands. I can wear an 8, but they are usually snug. Hopefully I'll be able to wear that size soon!
I found a pair of jeans on the clearance table yesterday.  Regular
price they were $72 jeans!  No way do I pay full price for these,
but for $55 I could almost stomach it.  Thing is, they were
2inches smaller than the last pair I bought around Easter.  I
figured they'd sit in the closet until August or September... I decided
to try them on just to see how much longer I'd have to dream about them
and found that they zipped - AND I could breathe!!  They fit
perfect!  I was so excited I didnt' even notice that they were
extra long length (I'm only 5' 5").  To top it off I brought them
to the counter to pay and the price rang up as $39!! SWEET!
Today I tried wearing them to work, and they're just too long.
So I brought them in to get a free alteration!
Men's sizes are different (they actually make more sense to me, and yes, I've had to deal with women's sizing charts in a previous life, for an internet fitting application).

Current: pants - 34" waist x 32" inseam
shirt - 42" chest, 16" neck, 32/33 sleeve
suit - 42 regular

Goal: pants - 32x32 or better (my freshman year of college saw 28x32!)
shirt & suit same as above.
I am happy to say I started at a tight 16 (like should have been an 18 but I am stubborn) and I am now starting to fit into my old 11's and 12's!

I can not even fathom fitting into a 9-10! I will be so happy!!
I've always had a wide waist proportion-wise. I think my butt is a size 8 and my waist is now a 10-12. I love shopping at Banana Republic and Eddie Bauer because their sizes run big and things don't always nip in at the (non-existant) waist.

One time, in high school, I fit in and bought bought a size 5/6 pair of jeans at express. I saved the tag. I want to do that again.
size 10 in the uk! which is a.. 8 in the USA

i could cheat and say "hay i AM a size 8! USA 8 that is.." (my aim is a UK 8)
Dropped from 244lbs to 188lbs.  Went from jeans size 38x30 to a 32x30 in "some brands" and 33x30 in the majority of what I've tried on.

Shirts:  tees went from XXL to L, button shirts with collar, 18 neck x 34 sleeve to 16-1/2" neck x 34 sleeve.

I have a PILE of pants and jeans (about 28 pair) of 38x30s!!!!!  Hello, Ebay?
WELL DONE TO EVERYONE WHO HAS GOT INTO A SMALLER SIZE OR IS ON THEIR WAY. my god You peaple just INSPIRE ME SO MUCH!!! you are all trying so hard, can i have some of your motivation???
i'm pretty sure you do have... i mean, you're here, right?
....good point...
We were just talking about sizes at work the other day.  We were trying to decide what the difference was between a woman's size 14 and a ladies size 14.  I think the women's size 14 is slightly roomier in the hips and butt but i'm not sure.  All's I know is that I don't want to shop in women's department anymore!  I have a size 12 pair of jeans that I would love to wear again (for a short time, on my way to an 8).  When I first tried to put them on 3 months ago it would have taken a series of power tools to get them over my hips.  Now they go over my hips but can't button them.  I try them on every week (like two lbs is going to make those things button!) but eventually I will wear them!  Even if I have to carry oxygen to do so!
I love reading about everyone's success!  I started in a 16 (should have been 18, probably), and am now very comfy w/lots of room in mydress-pant  14s. But, I bought a pair of 12 jeans on line the other day 'cuz they were on sale, and voila, they fit!  But its summer; I hardly ever wear jeans in summer.  So I debate what I should do w/them.

In tops, I had been wearing a Petite Large, but just got some Petite Mediums that look terrific.  Happy dance!
I started in a size 26/28 and now wear a comfortable size 10.  I buy everything at thrift stores now, because I don't wear them long enough or enough times to make it worth buying them even off clearance!!  go go thrift stores!
no yelling at me!!  I started here a size 8...  By the end of April I was a snug size 6...  Now I swim in a 6 and am a sung to comfy size 4... but i am ALMOST done!!
Weeell..

I started with size 48 (or 50) pants. Am now down to a comfortable 44 (which means I Can shop in normal stores again for pants and belts!)

Work shirts were 19.5 36/37 and are now 18 36/37 (May end up having to go to special stores to get long work shirts if I lose much more neck, though! :o BUMMER!)
Hi, I am wearing a size 16 or 18 right now depending on the make of the pants or shorts.  I always tend to buy a size XL tops because I don't like to see my love handles through the t-shirt!  :o(
I am 5'10" and started at 245 (240 when I started CC) and was a 42" pants and 2XL shirt. I am now 211 and 38"x30 pants (I fit in some 36, but like my pants loose) and L to XL shirt, matters if I want loose or form fitting (not skin tight, not in that shape yet!)
