so last year i dropped to 5'7, 16 years old and 105lbs. i was so proud of myself and i bought all new summer/spring clothes. well needless to say once i've found out i looked like a bag of bones, i've gained 10 pounds, still 5'7, 17years old, back since then and now none of my clothes fit. my supportive mother even says i look great, but it doesn't help when she says, well im still not buying you new clothes so you have to loose 10lbs for the summer.... what am i to do? she says with college and everything coming up to pay for that i just have to loose the weight, but i was unhealthy, frail, and exhausted. HOW CAN I MAKE HER UNDERSTANDD!!! not to mention she never even tried to stop me when i lost weight anyways!!! but she says shes "happy" i've gained some back. (i was originally 135lbs at 16)

sell your old clothes to a clothing resale shop. do you have a plato's closet by you?

if shes not going to buy your clothes for you, get a job even if it is just for a few months.

oh, yikes. it sounds to me like you really don't want to lose the weight again, and you gave some great reasons for not wanting to(exhausted, unhealthy, etc.) You probably shouldn't diet back down to 105 to fit in the clothes.
Your mom also has legitimate concerns about spending a lot of money on new clothes with other big expenses coming up. Also she sounds like she is trying to be supportive the best way she knows how, which at this point is telling you she is fine with whatever you do with your weight, like not saying anything when you dieted down to an unhealthy weight, but also being happy that you gained some back. if she isn't going to take a stand even when you endanger your own health... i don't even know.
Would it be possible for you to pick up a job so that you can fund new clothes yourself? Even if it's just a few hours a week hostessing or in retail or something. or try tutoring kids in your area if you're particularly good at a subject. that would allow you to set your own hours and still make money to buy some new things for your new, healthier body.

Yeah, because that's totally messed up.

Maybe you should ask her why she is encouraging you to endanger your health.

50 bucks now for at least some cheap T-shirts and pants.. or thousands of dollars later on when you have all sorts of health problems? Honestly, maybe you should try to get her to put it in perspective.

I second the summer job idea though.

Firstly, you can sell your old clothes. Ebay or a clothing resale shop would work.

As for getting new clothes, you can go to thrift stores (I just got a pair of American Eagle Jeans for 3 bucks there last week!).

Have you ever heard of freecycle? It's an email list where people offer things that they no longer need and get things that they do from those that don't need them. You could try having your mom sign up and offer your old clothes on there and then request some news clothes for you. Just search google for freecycle.:]

Congrats, by the way, on regaining some weight and health! I know that it's hard to do! Your mom may just be stressed by the amount of $ that college costs right now and not know what to do to keep her budget balanced. I don't think she really would want you bony and sick. If she is serious, maybe talk to your dad or another adult about it? Those are very unsupportive things to syay and could seriously send you into a relapse. You can always remind your mom that she'll have tons more medical bills then clothing bills if you lose weight again. 115 lbs at 5'7 is cutting it close--105 lbs is simply not healthy.

Good luck!

You're 17 years old.  That is nearly an adult.  Your mother is planning to pay for college.  Be grateful for that.  It is a huge expense.  It is time for you to start taking a little of the burden onto yourself.  Sell clothes, get a job, find a solution for yourself.  That is what an adult does.

i do have a job already guys. but i did forget about the platos closet idea. most of money now getts put away for what else... college. thanks for teh support guys i really apprechiate it.
