5'5" Club anyone?? Similar YCC-ers working together!! (Sorry, but we're now closed.)

Quote  |  Reply

I saw this in the Weight Loss forum and thought it'd be great for the YCC forum (I hope that's alright) :]

I know that there have been/are posts similar to this, but I haven't seen one where we actually work together to reach our goals.  We all need motivation no matter what shape, size, weight, etc. we are, and I think that if we all work together here, have an optional weigh-in day (Sunday), and tell each other about our goals and accomplishments, we'll feel even more motivated to get these pounds off than before!

If you're 5'5" (or within 1-2 inches of it), you're welcome to talk here!! Get acquainted with the other members here with similar stats and goals, and motivate each other!

Tell who you are, your stats, what you eat, your goal weight, your story, and talk to other people about all of it!!  Come here if you need to vent, need support, advice, or whatever.

Umm I dont think so, if I stay on track its usually one pound a week loss. I mean you know what sucks for me though is my spring scale tells me I have lost more but my digital is just retarted. I want to like throw it out my third store window and go down there and then stomp on it. Hahahaha. I mean my spring scale said 116 the past two days, and my digital has gave me from 117-120 so its pretty retarted. I usually dont do my weigh in on sundays, I do them on wednesdays and you can see them on my page I have it and its been steady 1-2 pounds for the past weeeeks. I use a measureing tape too. My goal with that is 34-24-34. I am currently 34-24.5-35

Yay:D

You two are both doing great!! Keep it up :]

For me if I suddenly drop down really low, and then go up really high in  one day, it means I have lost a pound, and it shows it on the scale over the next few days. Its kinda weird how that works...water or something...

hanni how are you doing?

I've been doing okay, I suppose.  I'm still not having any progress, I don't think.  My weight keeps staying around 139-143, and just bouncing up and down around there.  I didn't exercise at all last week, and I'm at 141.  Last week, when I weighed, I was 142.  The week before that, 143.  So, I don't know if I'm losing, or if it's just been doing what it's doing....  When I weighed today, it was after I'd had breakfast (cereal and yogurt) and a snack (an apple), so I was probably a bit less than that, actually.  I don't know, yet....  I'm just going to have to hang in there, and tuff it out.  I measured today, and I've had a tiny bit of a difference in parts of me, you can check it out in my journals :] Other than not working out this past week, I've been great on my diet.  I can't even tell you the last time I had a "free day".  I just never seem to even want them.

Btw Heather, I might steal a bit of your idea for my journals.  I think it might help me stay on track a bit more.  I'm hoping, at least :]

Hannikate - Go for it! Use those ideas, that really helps me stay on track!

Okay, so I usually weigh in on my people page on wednesdays. So this is the past few weeks

2008-07-09 124.80
2008-07-16 122.60
2008-07-23 121.60
2008-07-30 120.40
2008-08-06 118.80

118.80 YAYY. I am suppper excited. So 3.8 more pounds to go! Oh and I lost .5 off my thighs again. I looked in the mirror today and my butt looks smaller :( nooooo! LOL. My boobs havent really changed much during this whole entire 21 pound weight loss which is pretty awesome :) hahaha. So now I am 34-24.5-35 (and 19.5 thighs) So I have .5 on waist to go and 1 in (I THINK) on my butt. MAYBE NOT. Haha I think it might be small enough. I thought I wanted 34-24-34 measurements, but maybe not anymore.

GO HEATHER! Those three pounds will be off before you know it, and then you'll be on maintenance!! It's really inspiring to see you do this, since you started around the same weight I am now.  Even if it takes a lot more time than it has you, I know that once I get to where you are, it will be so worth it!!

Your measurements seem great!! Keep it up :D

woohoo heather! thats super exciting!

My goal right now is to get to maintenance level before school starts, but I think I have hit a plateau...my weight has not BUDGED from 120. Hmmm, I was thinking I'd zigzag but I am afraid of gaining the little bit of weight and then not being able to lose it...and for some odd reason I feel like I've gained weight. I just look rounder somehow in the mirror, and its slightly discouraging.

Also, I was talking to a friend that I hadn't seen in a year. We were talking about meal plans at college. I told him I wasn't getting one since it made me gain ridiculous weight last year.

All he said was "yea I can tell."

And I couldn't decide whether or not he was being sarcastic...'cause I've lost the majority of that weight (10lbs is a lot!) and I swear, if I didn't work out as much I'd be down to 117, like I was before. I didn't have much muscle before, and now I definitely do (almost have abs!)

I laughed and tried to write it off as a joke, but it kinda stung. I've been working so hard this summer, at the gym, dealing with food and everything. I am really trying hard to learn portion control, so I can deal with it at college.

His comment just added to my feeling of roundness. I feel like a roly-poly :/

Hello!

I'm leaving tomorrow for a 9-day hike in Yosemite (6 to 10 miles a day!) and won't be able to weigh in or read all your progress stories : (  boo.

But hopefully I'll be closer to my goal after my trip.

I'm down to 141 thanks to Heather's journals, which inspired me to start walking.

I always felt like I wasn't getting a work-out unless I was running around sweating profusely...but once I started walking an hour a day, I got over the 142 hump after 3 days! Sweet.

Thanks for your journals Heather!

Good luck this week girls!

I'll officially log my weight tomorrow, in case it changes.

Theswissmiss:  Is it around TTOM for you? If so, that could be the reason for your roundness.  You could just be a tad bit bloated, so just wait it out :]
Ugh, I hate it when people make completely unnecessary comments like that and really hurt your feelings regardless if they meant it or not.  Most of my friends are boys, so trust me, I know what you mean....

Laurensking:  Have fun on your hiking trip! You'll probably lose some weight by simply doing that and following your diet!! 6-10 miles?! Whooo that sounds like something I'd like to do right about now.  Haha! Congrats for getting out of 142!! You're getting closer with each and every pound :D Good luck to you, too!

Heya!

I'd like to join the group if you're still accepting newcomers!

I'm not exactly new to Calorie Count and have been going on and off of it for a really long time...just bouncing between being really dedicated to it and losing interest. I hope this time around I can actually do it..but we'll see.

Height: 5'5"

CW: 130

GW: 110-115ish

Hope I can really make it through this time!!

Welcome to the group donikatus!! Of course we're excepting, we don't stop! :D We look forward to watching you and helping you go through your weight loss :]

-Hannah

If you're accepting new people, can I join too? :)

I was diagnosed with M.E. early this year so I wasn't allowed to do any exercise for quite some time (and for a really active and athletic person, this was torture!) I put on quite a bit of weight and now I'm allowed to exercise again I'd like to lose some of it before I head off to uni.

You seem like a really supportive bunch so I'd love to join in! For the moment my goal is to lost about 12 pounds in 2 months, is that achievable do you think?

Danielle

EDIT: I forgot the most important part- the stats! I'm 5'5" and currently weigh 122lbs...I want to get to 110lbs :)

As I told donikatus, of course you're able to join!! lol! We would love to have you :D

I don't think I've heard of M.E., at least, not in the abbreviated sense.  What is it, exactly? That sounds like a resonable enough goal, however, since you aren't losing that much, it may be a bit harder to lose (or that's what I've heard).  So, it may take you 2 1/2 - 3 months, but that's still not very long :]

I'm looking forward to hearing about your weight loss :D

-Hannah

Oh, and I just added that anyone can join in the title since people hadn't known that before :]

Thank you :)

It's also known as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and it means that even the smallest bit of activity tires me out and causes muscle pain so I have to sleep a lot and be careful about the amount of exercise I do. It also causes sleeping problems, headaches, I find it difficult to regulate my temperature (so I get dizzy and faint a lot too) and sometimes it makes you feel really sick. I'm a lot better now though, as the treatment seems to be working :D

I did set myself an optimistic date, so I don't mind if it takes that bit longer! I think I'll probably lose more at uni anyway because by then I'll hopefully be able to get back into regular, hardcore exercise and there won't be cupboards of chocolate and cakes around!

Weigh in day is Sunday, right? Does it matter what time we do it as long as it's the same every week?

Danielle

Hey Danielle :]

Oh, okay, I've heard of that, just not called M.E.  Actually, my best friend's mother has Chronic Fatigue, so I know just what you're saying.

Yes, the weigh in day is Sunday, but it really can be whenever you want, or whenever suits you.  Like, today I had to weigh, because I won't be able to tomorrow morning.  And, it's always best to weigh first thing in the morning before you eat and after you use the restroom.  That way, you get your real weight, and not your weight with food and "other" things in your body :P I think that's what you were asking, right?

Weigh in:

Start Weight:  139.6
Last Week:  141
Current Weight:  141
Goal Weight:  115-120

The last time I weighed was Tuesday, so that could be the reason for the lack of weight loss :P

Yesterday I ate 2700 calories eeeeek! I went to a party, and had enchiladas, cake, oj, and chips & salsa. DANGIT. I ate alot yesterday, that the scale went up one/two pounds. I hope that it is mostly water weight :( I need encouragement. This stinks. I really want to get to my goal already.

Cool, that makes a change (most people don't have a clue what I'm on about!)

Thanks for the weigh in tips hannikate (all very politely put I must add, kudos to you!)

Well done with the weight maintenance :D It's not a loss, but impressive nonetheless considering how easy it is to put weight on...keep it up!

I wouldn't worry Heather...we all have days like that! Sometimes you need to eat a lot one day to motivate you for the weeks that follow, so don't beat yourself up about it, it'll probably help you! You WILL get to your goal just like we all will eventually, stay positive :)

Haha. Okay so this morning I made my boyfriend weigh himself.  He was 117.8 on the digital, and 114 on the spring scale. I was 119.8 on the digital and 116 on the spring scale.

So I have two pounds to go to reach him. 4/5 Pounds till I reach 115 on the digital, and for once in me and my boyfriends life I will be the one who weighs lessss. I cant wait. Hahaha. Yeah. Tomorrow, I promise myself that I will jump back on the wagon and get to my motherf'n goal! I want to reach it before I move. So I have six weeks! I graduate college in six weeks, isnt that awesome? Did I mention I just turned 18? Haha. Sweet deal. I get to move back home! I have lived away from my main family for over a year and I miss them so much. I have soooooooooooooooooooo much to do before I move, selling the car, cleaning the apartment, canceling like all the stupid things like gas and electric, oh boy its going to be hard work. OH WELL. I am excittttttted!

And thanks for all the congratulations when i DID hit 118.8. LOL. hopefully tomorrows weigh in is okay [crosses fingers]

YAY for you lauren for getting over that hump.

Donikatus - Welcome :]

Buttonsandbeads - Welcome too :] May I ask what M.E. is? I think that is achievable with hard work and dedication. Hm. 110 pounds is underweight? Well I mean I dont know your age so maybe it isnt.  Oh and i just read what M.E. is that must have sucked. Bleh.

Huh, isnt 5'5/5'6 and 115 pounds REALLLLLY skinny already? I dont understand. I mean **** what is considered skinny for 5'5/5'6?

So I'm coming in mega-late, but I only just started using this community under a different name. Here we go:

Name: Sadie
Age: 20 (as lost last week!)
Height: 5'5" even
Weight: as of this morning, 180. I cried when I saw that.
Highest weight: 180. like, ever.
Lowest weight: 141 two years ago
Goal weight 1: 160 by October 15
Goal weight 2: 140 by December 15
Final Goal weight: 120 by February 15

I have sort of an eating disorder, bouncing back between bulimic and anorexic. At my worst I was binging and purging 6 or 8 times a day, and then going a week without eating a thing. My best friend grabbed me and told me I needed to stop, or I was going to die. I told her she was just being dramatic, to try to scare me, but then I passed out on the stairs and fell down three floors, and I realized she was right. I've been in therapy since February and it's been helping, but my therapist isn't a nutritionist and isn't trained in eating disorders, so he doesn't know how to help me lose weight safely.

New friends are totally welcome. Add me!
