I left the 170 club as of yesterday after a week stay.  After finding no 160 club I decided to start one myself.

As of today (Sunday Jan 7, 2007) I am at 167.

I'm looking forward to meeting anyone else in this range and motivating each other onto the 150 club.  Let the journey begin!  WE CAN DO IT!!

Much to my suprise, I am down 2 pounds since last Thursday, 163.6! How exciting!
Hey everyone...   I ended up turning off my alarm and sleeping in an extra hour.. So I didn't get my workout in.  It was just so warm in my bed.  But, I will have some time later today to work out. But this can't keep happening.  Other days I won't have time to work out during the day because of school and work.  Maybe I should put my alarm on the other side of my room so I will get up.  Any other ideas???
Hey Liney - where did you get the nifty computer-generated graphics in your photo gallery? Those are awesome. :) I really like them.
Well I weighed in at 166.4 but, the more exciting thing is my body fat went from 40% to 38%  YAY!  I didn't loose much, however; my clothes are a bit looser and I expected that my new exercise regime would add some muscle (thereby adding weight) and my body fat would go down.   If you don't have a scale that reads body fat % you should get one.  It helps you to see what's really going on and keeps you from getting discouraged when the wieght numbers don't go down as quickly as you want.  As for getting up....you probably don't want to hear this but, if you go to bed earlier you will be more rested in the morning.  Also if you are a coffee drinker get an automatic coffee maker and time it to brew your coffee 5 min before you get up.  The aroma of the fresh coffee may help you spring out of bed earlier.  You could also just throw the towl in on am workouts and just do them after work.  I am not a morning person, so that's what I do.  If I had to rely on am workouts I'd be fat forever!
I was kind of thinking about what I would do to celebrate when I get under 160 (any excuse to buy myself something!!!)... and I decided I would get new/more clothes for the gym!  I figure that way I'll feel a little snazzier while working out and also having a few different outfits in rotation will help me from making lame excuses to not go to the gym... like for instance, that my gym clothes are all dirty!
ltlmsmfft-  thanks for your advice.. Yeah, I make sure I get to bed early enough so I meet my 8 hours of sleep that I need..  I ended up sleeping 10 hours lastnight.. CRAZY!!  Maybe I just needed it to prepare my self for some hard working out!  I would rather work out in the morning then at the end of the day, that way I just get it done right away, and don't have to think about it all day.. Plus, it gives me great energy for the day!
I'm new here and I'm at 161lbs. so this is where I belong, for now, until I hit 150's.  We'll see when that happens.
The last couple of days have been horrible.  I've been doing my strength training and cardio to a tee (expect for this morning ... I opted to stay in bed for the extra half hour instead of jumping on the rowing machine.  I'll just do it this evening when I get home from work while dinner is in the oven) and I've been eating much much better (other than the cake and ice cream for my baby sisters 10th b-day) but I haven't been drinking my water.  Granted, my water consumption is dractically higher than most peoples (yesterday I drank 3 32oz bottles) but I'm supposed to be drinking 4.5 32 oz bottles. Superhydration baby ... part of the Bowflex Body Plan and its working for me ... now if I can just stick to it.  Today I think I'm back on track .. I'm downiing one bottle before I eat breakfast and I have it timed so that I drink all of them WAY before I get on the train to go home ... nothing like sitting on a train and praying you can hold it in.

Today, like the rest of this week, I'm still sitting at 169 lbs.  But I know that my muscles are remembering their old tone and its one week before that week where I hate being a women ... and thats high water retension time for me.

My motivation by chance (or maybe not) ... on the weekend as I was waiting at a busy restaurant reseving tables for my friends birthday, I stumbled on a copy of the People magazine that featured people who had lost over 100lbs, etc.  Can we say fate?  I read it on the train this morning.  My decision:  "If they can do it, so can I!"

Keep up the good work!! We're getting there!!
Hi everyone,  I weigh 168 lbs up two lbs but down from 186 lbs that I started at in November 2006.  I lost 20 lbs before Christmas and only gained 3 lbs over the Holidays.  I have 6 children.  I weighed 105 lbs before they were born.  I'm 5'5"tall.  After my last child was born I weighed 163 lbs.  I was 33 years old.  Over the years I lost it and in 1993 I weighed 128 lbs.  Which is a good weight for me.  Divorce after 24 years marriage.  Now married almost 12 years.  With too much good food and quitting smoking I let the weight gain go to 190.  I drink 3 litres of water a day and weigh my food.  Exercise 5 out of 7 days. I'm 56 years old.  Hope I am not too old for you guys.  Good luck to us all soon being in the 150's.

Liney, don't feel bad.  I haven't done anything different either, and this morning for some reason I was at 170.2.  I don't get it...I was on the treadmill for 45 min. last night and didn't go over my calories....how did I gain a whole pound?

We have to be in it for the long haul, gf....if you keep at it, so will I!
Hi everyone!  I"m still here...struggling a bit with everything (except exercise, which is surprising!).

Still hanging in there in the high 160's.  Bummer since I was down to 161.5 before xmas.  Kinda blew that one all apart!

Liney - another homeschooler!  We started out of necessity (new town, bad school) and kept with it when we realized that we loved it.  The school in our town is now doing much better (new principal) but my younger kids don't want to go back.  I give them the choice each year, but they choose to stay home.  My 13 y/o decided to go back to high school this year, and she is happy there.  She's very social and loves the life - she also gets straight A's because according to her, the work is WAY easier than what I was making her do....LOL....that worries me, because I didn't think I was that hard on her!
Axtell24 -- I am watching my calorie intake as well and eating lots of whole foods (no more sugur and processed garbage). I am also eating a whole lot more then I used to so I know that my metabolism is stepping up.  I know though that my weight hasnt moved because I'm putting on muscle weight.  If you are working out (even if it is cardio) you will build lean muscle.  So don't dispare!  Thats were the weigh is probably coming from. Once your body figures out that it has new muscle growth that muscle will start helping you burn more and more body fat.  That's how I see it when I'm just sick of exercising (I hate to sweat ... icky) ... I envision myself building "body fat burners" (said in that big movie premiere voice:).  And yes, I am in it for the long haul ... I'm with you all the way!!!

Newdock -- I love speaking to others who have experienced homeschooling.  I too found the work my mom gave me ten times harder than in school (I was actually bored most of the time in school).    I remember in grade 12 biology I mentioned to someone that I was homeschooled. My teacher overheard it and literally fell off his chair.  "You? Homeschooled? There is no way!  You are way to social and confident!" Heehee!  Tell your daughter to keep up the good work at school! The lessons learned through homeschooling (how to study, prioritize, etc) will help her for a long time to come.  This was proved to me at college graduation.  Not only did I walk away with the Leadership and Participation award I had an 90% - 95% average and I had the highest grade out of my entire class!  That blew me away as I'm not that intellectual and book smart.  But it made my mom very, very proud!!!  (my other siblings however are geniuses.  My brother is in garde 11 and is knocking off a 93% average and he is also on the school leadership team and soccer team!! why didn't I get those genes ??? They also got the skinny gene, so I'm not surprised)
Had to share this too.  Part of my job is planning special events.  I'm coorganizing a gala dinner to raise money for the not-for-profit where I work.  The theme this year ... CHOCOLATE!  So I've designed save the date cards, invitations, letterhead, RSVP cards, etc with tasty pictures of truffles, etc.

Today (right now I'm taking a break from it actually) I'm gluing individually wrapped pieces of chocolate into the invitations ... over 600 of them!!!

Perfect timing to have a Chocolate themed dinner ... when I'm trying to be "good".

I just keep thinking, "you can do it!  You are not craving chocolate!  Stick to the plan so you can fit into that sexy formal gown for the dinner!!!
I lost another 1.2lbs!  I'm down to 165.2 :)  I'm still struggling to find the time to add the pilates into my daily cardio routine...Does anybody else feel like there isisn't enough time in the day????  I'm a single mom and by the time I get home from work to my cardio, make dinner, make lunches for the next day, bath and dress my son I just want to sit and read or watch TV.
ltlmsmfft -- are you doing anything other than your cardio and pilates?  If you aren't you should do your cardio one day and the pilates the next day.  Doing this will trick your body and not give it a chance to get used to your routine.  You also don't want to overstress your muscles, etc.  You need to give them a break and then they can grew. My schedule is: strength training on my bowflex one day, 30 mins vigorious rowing the next.  On the weekends I take a brake from training and just row or run.

I don't have kids but I too find finding time hard. To be at the office for 8:30 I need to leave my house by 6:45am.  I find working out in the morning easier as I have no motivation after a day at work.  So I am up at 5:30 a.m. Its annoying and there are days when I want to just stay in bed. But I feel much better following through on my plan and I have a ton of energy for the day! I also try to walk during lunch.  Or stand on the subway instead of sit and try to do it without holding on (strength training for the legs).
... seriously shut me up if I talk to much ...
I am leaving the 160 lb club now!!  I am down to 158 lbs!!!  I will see you all there soon!!  Keep up the good work!
hi liney!  thanks for the advice!  when i get into the swing of things i become a cardio/pilates junkie and can't get enough of it.  i think i'm a little slow starting just because i'm carrying so much extra weight and my metablisim/energy levels are less than what they should be due to my over-consumption of all the wonderful american fast food in the last 1 1/2 yrs.  I think it's the realease of all the endorphins that my body starts to crave.  Does this happen to you?

Hi, this is not something i've ever done and its pretty scary telling people you don't know that you're 165 pounds, 5 foot 8 and apparantly 30 % body fat! I'm only 16 and am really worried about becoming an obese adult, all of you sound so strong and positive, i'm hoping sum of that will rub off on me! I've been trying to lose weight for about three years and i'm going to make sure that 2007 is the year that it's going to happen i can't wait to get down to my target weight  - 140 lbs - i will do it! Good luck to everyone and i hope you all achieve whatever you want to achieve, it is possibe!
That's a good attitude to have, flick....you have to finally decide that you like yourself enough to get healthy.   Good luck....we're all in the boat with you!!
