160 Club
As of today (Sunday Jan 7, 2007) I am at 167.
I'm looking forward to meeting anyone else in this range and motivating each other onto the 150 club. Let the journey begin! WE CAN DO IT!!
I'm happy to say I'm in the 160's club! I started out October 31st. I weighed 176 and now I'm 165! :) I'm looking for someone in a similar position. I am 5'8" and my goal weight is 148.
One pound at a time....remember it is 4 sticks of butter!
Munsey and amyblue - I was hoping to be 159 tomorrow, but that's not going to happen. Let's say by next Friday we break the 159 mark and we get to __________. . . uhhhhh, shopping?, hair cut?, ideas????...
foxylady_st, I really don't understand how it's happened so quickly. I'm a little worried that these next 17 lbs will be much harder! I was between 173-176 for about the last year, with no changes! I'm pretty happy with this site, it keeps me motivated and to see results is even better.![]()
CONGRATS Munsey!
Foxyady I am with u, I seem to b stuck right a the 160 mark too. I did weigh 159.5 the other day but it wasn't my normal weigh in day so I didn't count it.
Monday's the big day so hopefully I will break into the 150's club. Is there a 150's club to join? Hmmm.....I guess I will have to go and look.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Like I said, I hanging around till I trust it. I've gotta get through the holidays, and all of that social grazing......grrrrr....bleh....
sunnydog98 -- I'm so desperate to beat the 160 mark I'm weighing myself naked on my tippy-toes. :)
Yep me too! LOL I am hoping that tomorrow I will b able to say I am there 159.5!!! Keeping my fingers crossed. Pretty soon we'll both b in the 150's club. Hmm still haven't gone to find it yet. I hope there is one once I get there????
Ok tomorrow is weigh in day for me. Gotta go get my beauty rest.
Plus I am hoping to keep this nasty cold trying to get me to stay away.
Happy Monday Everyone!!!
Well guys I think it is time for me to go find the 150's club. As of this morning I am at 158.5. WOOO HOOOO!!!!!
It's been great and I am sure a lot of u will b joining me soon in the 150's group. Well off to find the group.
See ya soon!
*happy dance*
As for advice... stay active and diligent. There was a great ad in a magazine that said something like --- If you would've began[exercising] when you started thinking about it you'd be done by now --
...and eat foods packed with nutrients, fiber and protein. My favorites are lentils... :)
Hi everyone,
I am both happy and sad to be joining the 160's club. Sad because I of course want to weigh less but happy because I started November 1st at 176 and weighed in yesterday at 166!! The first couple of weeks were slow, then I started running and it has been great. I'm scared it will slow down though, hopefully not.
I'm 5'7" and my goal weight is 145. I'm especially anxious to get under 160 because that will put me at a healthy BMI again.
I look forward to chatting with all of you and helping to motivate each other to the 150's club!!
I'm on the brink of being in the 160s..... I'm 5'9" and weigh 173 lbs..... and can't believe it!!!! In my head, I'm 20 pounds lighter - LOL!!! I have always been pretty active and used to be really trim -- a size 6. Six years ago I quit smoking (after 10 years of smoking a pack a day), which was one of the greatest and hardest things I've ever done. I gained 10-15 pounds and figured it would just come off as my body got used to being without nicotine. Then I finished law school and started spending 14 hours a day at my desk... and another 5-10 pounds crept on without my even knowing it. I just started replacing my size 10's with size 12's!!!!!!!!! So much for the "it'll just come off" theory!! :)
So, I just passed 35 and I'm commited. I'm motivated. I walked/jogged a 10K in June - my first ever. That felt great. Now I'm trying to incorporate other kinds of exercise and get those 20 pounds off forever!!!!!
I found the food log and analysis to be really helpful. I had no idea I was consuming so much fat!!!!!!! I mean, I love cheese and dairy, but I also eat a lot of veggies and try to cook healthy. But I forgot how much damage a couple slices of cheese or a couple pats of butter can do!
Here's wishing you all good luck .... I'll be looking to you for hope and inspiration!
Adrileigh - congrats on your weight loss so far! Re: exercise, try finding an activity that involves exercise, but has a different point. I walk in the mornings before work sometimes. The thought that gets me out of bed is not "I have to work out," but "I bet its gorgeous outside. It would be so nice to have some quiet time to myself before I get to the office this morning." Something about being out walking while the streets are quiet and the morning sky is rising - its awesome. It brings me a lot of tranquility.
Other times, I need to work out stress or tension. So then I hit the weights or go running -- with LOUD, f-u music on my IPod. Again, I'm not thinking about calories or pounds -- I'm motivated by the satisfaction of burning off that tense energy so I can clear my head and feel good again.
Hope that helps!
Thanks merkee. You sound like me. I definitely think i'm 20 lbs lighter in my head too! It's crazy how it just creeps on.
Well thanks for the advice. I like the quote i heard earlier about exercise. "if you wouldv'e started exercising when you first thought about it, it would be done by now..." that is SOOOO true! I do too much thinking and not enough action sometimes! :)
Good luck!! I want to get into the 150's sooo bad! It's been about 3 1/2 years since I've see #'s in the 150's !
