130/120 Club?
If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?
Thank you :)
As hubby put it "we don't even know if we can have kids"...so we are not even going to try to find out yet LOL my ob/gyn told me the only thing I need to worry abt is my small pelvic area which will mean c-section (same happened to mom). [at least i can wear low rise jeans and not look awful LOL]
oh I've never been this thin in my life; except for last February when I was 122 lbs; but i was never at a healthy weight for so long; i've always been chubby ; so i'm really descovering new things abt my boy and really want to explore more of what it has to offer
ok, off to bed. it's 11:20 pm and barely could peal myself from talking to my boss. i end up 12+ hrs at the laptop and it's taking a toll on me already.
Hey Christine - You may be doing this but if you aren't DO IT! Weigh yourself in the morning after you pee and naked. Don't eat anything, don't put any clothes on, this is the only way you can get a true weight. You said something about just weighing yourself and here it's almost five in the evening. Just in case you aren't doing it already :) Or maybe you dont' have a scale at home.. I want to make sure you are fair to yourself because if you had clothes on.. hey, you might not have that much of a difference :)
I think that we should all meet up and run a race!! Because running is so awesome. I think we should go to disney world or something, if not in 2009 then 2010!!!
I'm cracking up regarding the discussions about husbands and boyfriends and murderers! My husband thinks I'm rediculous for doing this too. Must be a universal guy thing. Truth be told, I was sad to leave this forum when I got pregnant, and I am so happy that the same ladies are still here, plus some nice new faces. No one understands our situation because we aren't fat to begin with, so it's refreshing to come here with people in the same situation. Plus, so many of us are at the same point in life--similar ages, young marrieds, starting a fam, etc.
Heheh I love my imaginary friends!
My boyfriend probably thinks im crazy but ive explained to him that its about me being healthy and at the ideal weight for my body...he is so supportive. The only time he tells me im ridiculous is if i complain and dont do anything about it, or if i say "i feel fat" lol.
tomorrow morning im doing group power at 5:45am!! hehe i'm more of a night person but i want to see if i can do a good workout in the am and then i will be free after work. It sounds so good, but will i be able to push myself, or will i feel too groggy? We shall see!
Have a good night everyone![]()
Thanks Carrie! I was aware that it wasn't the best thing to weigh myself during the evening, my morning was slightly hectic and I think the shock was good for me. Most of the time when I weigh myself its right when I get up in the morning butt naked and with no jewelry on =) I agree about all of us running a race together! And I love your enthusiasm!
To everyone: my imaginary friends rock =) haha people think i'm crazy too, but hey it works doesn't it?
Danni- I'm more of a night person as well! I can run nearly twice as much at night or in the afternoon than in the morning. I also read that you wanted your butt to be bigger, how about I give you some of my booty? haha =)
I'm making egg whites tomorrow morning as a nice piece of protein to start my day =) I love eggs and they're the only breakfast food that fills me up! Anyone have any other ideas of healthy breakfast food? Mostly I don't have much time and my stomach is too weak for all of the various protein shakes out there.
More work for the workaholic to do =/
Goodnight ladies..
"May the sun bring you new energy by day, May the moon softly restore you by night, May the breeze blow new strength into your being, May you walk through the world and know its beauty all the days of your life"

ps. how do you center the profile picture thumbnail? i'd rather not have it be a picture of my jersey clad torso!
Party- I hear you on the protein shakes, I have been trying to drink them after I work out, and every time so far they have really been making me feel sick afterwards. Eggs have been my go to as well lately if I'm home for breakfast. I keep some chopped peppers and onions in the fridge to make an egg white omlette and with the veggies prepped it doesn't take that long to throw breakfst together. I also just bought some of the Kashi Crunchy protein/fiber bars at costco the other day and they keep me full without the digestive problems I get with other stuff like Muscle Milk.
Boy I'm such a night-owl! For the previous 2 nights I was up until 11:30 pm on line with my boss, working and editing. I do work 8 hrs a day but this time it piled up and I had stuff to talk and...oh boy!
Of course today will probably be the same...since I still need to finish up some articles. And I'm pushing some work on Sat as well. But then I'll make sure to take ALL my weekends off [promise!]
I am NOT a night owl! My body around 8-10pm starts saying.. I'd rather be sleeping. I've been so bored at night this week that I've just gone to bed early. I start teaching piano next week and all of that is about to change. Seriously, last semester I taught one night until 9pm. Hopefully it will be a better semester time wise.
Breakfast foods. I love breakfast. I love omlettes, I love cereal, and this morning I loved two pieces of cheese toast. I made that fresh bread and someone has to eat it! I also have coffee every morning and if we have it juice! I love breakfast. Someone once told me, eat like a king in the morning, a queen at afternoon and a pauper at night. I try to do that only I get a little backwards sometimes ;)
Today for lunch I have a salad!! just lettuce, tomatos, some feta cheese, and balsamic vinagarette. I never knew it could be so good! We are def. keeping the feta cheese on our grocery list. Just a little bit of that stuff goes a long long way. I do not know what I'm going to eat for dinner. Maybe veggies? Yesterday I had my mac and cheese which I adore and is prob. not very good for me.. but you have to have a cheat sometimes. Oh, and speaking of cheating... I'm going to make cinnamon rolls this weekend while my husband is out of town!
Oh and speaking of babies (since it's always on my mind) a friend of mine that I used to teach with came in to the store a minute ago and she is super pregnant. She only has three weeks left too. Ohhh baby on the brain!
Breakfast foods...now let's "define" breakfast. I woke up at 11:00 a.m. and ate at 12:30 p.m. LOL just poped a mix-grain slice of bread in the MW wt a slice of cheese and that was it plus my super duper coffee:) sometimes i have cereals or muesli wt milk or yogurt; i don't like eggs so hardly ever eat them
I have a breakfast story. I have to work until 8pm tonight with my internship, so I meant to bring 2 Lean Cuisines (plus soup, 2 oranges, a pear, and baby carrots) to get me through the night before i head STRAIGHT TO THE GYM. Well anyway, I was worried I'd be hungry and mentally sluggish at the internship (NOT GOOD) with only 1 LC, then I was thinking, I'm already hungry now! So I went to grab an orange and realized I NEVER ATE MY BREAKFAST!! yay!! so I' had a late brunch of egg white & feta stuffed pitas and the 1 LC plus soup and fruit will see me through the day!!
Have a great Wednesday!!
EDIT: "Thursday!!" Whoops! Even better though...
Nice on Heather :) And by the way.. it's Thursday, not Wednesday ;) Are you still sleepy!?!
Speaking about breakfast, before I cut back my spending... Every Friday on the way to work I used to buy a Bacon Egg And Cheese meal at McDonalds... am I the devil or what? it was my reward/cheat. Now I can't spend five dollars like I used to, it adds up you know. But I can still taste it!
Oh I have a good story!! You will all be proud of me. The other day my friend pregnant-Lindsey called and said she would be on my side of town to get a new shower liner, would I like to meet up and shop with her a bit. I said sure and headed over when she called again and said, I have hated sweets this whole pregnancy and now I'm dying for a McFlurry, I'm stopping, can I get you one?
I. said. no!! I would never have turned that down before.. ever. Christine was talking about (in her journal) turning down cookies, it's impowering to say.. no sorry, I don't want ice cream. It's like going against our womanly nature!
Haha way to go Carrie! Doesn't it feel great? In response to the saying "eat like a king in the morning, a queen at afternoon and a pauper at night." the word breakfast itself tells us to break the fast. Not like any of us are fasting, but you get the point. What kind of cheese do you put on your cheese toast? Sounds delicious =)
Hey banditmb, I'm Christine btw! An omlette is a great suggestion, especially because I always feel deficient in the veggie department. Kashi is generally a good fall back to, they have a cereal but i'm still in the process of finding a good soy milk or lactose supstitute. Let me know if you find a protein shake that is gentle to the stomach!
Take it easy Cristina! You sound like a workaholic like me =) I appologize if I missed the answer to this question earlier in the forum: but what are the editing and articles for? I'm interested in pursuing english as a career.
Nice breakfast story Heather =) What kind of internship are you doing? You sound like you're doing an awesome job of eating well..i must admit those Lean Cuisine's can actually be pretty tasty. keep it up!
Do you guys ever wake up in the morning just starving...growling stomach and all? Do you take that as a sign that you should have eaten more the day before, or just a normal part of watching your caloric intake?

I'm a full time travel writer for a US company . And sometimes i end up also editing other writers' articles. Usually the freelancer's ones. So besides writing a bunch of cool stuff, I get to do a bunch of other boring stuff.
My latest cool stuff: Most Romantic Places in Europe
Currently I'm working on "Beautiful Castles in Europe" (among other stuff, of course)

most often i wake up like that; and i'm stupid enough to drink my coffee AND then eat. I stick to my range (1200-1550 cal) and i don't think i need to eat more. Just normal after a night's sleep
Greta- maybe this is bad, but I sort of like waking up like that...makes me feel like I didn't overeat the night before. I think you should be hungry, you've just gone 6,7,8 hours with no food. If I went that long without food during the day I think I would die. Literally.
Cristina- I do the coffee before food thing too in the morning. I have one of the electrtic pots with a timer and by the time I wake up it smells so good I can't help myself. I'm so incredibly jealous of your job! (checking out your link now). I'm trying to plan a mexico vacation so i'm going to keep poking around your site for some south of the border travel advice as well.
Heather- What type of lean cuisines do you like? The only ones I really enjoy right now are the butternut squash ravioli and some of the pizza ones... sometimes I have a hard time with the meat being sketchy, any suggestions? What's your favorite?
Christine- Sorry I didn't get your name on the last post. I'm Marian. :)
I write the Mexico site LOL And I'm stuck wt the Caribbean as well. My first "baby" was Greece though. And I'm totally IN LOVE wt it. The "mother" site is BNA USA and you might want to sign up for a free newsletter. :) I show up often there ("Cristina Dima" is my name). It's not "my" site, it's the company's :) (all the links I gave you are the company's)
I have an Italian espresso machine and by the time I brush my teeth the coffee is done. Needless to say I cannot even start working wt/out one so...yeah, you get the point :)
cricket: I think you have the best job ever. (Travel Writer)
christine: I'm getting hours to be a certified drug & alcohol counselor. Right now I'm at a private outpatient facility where we primarily handle DUI referrals. Previously I interned at a public residential facility.
simignonne: I am the same way, 9pm is my ideal bedtime! Luckily Nick is a sleepy person too. I dated a guy before who was a complete night owl/insomniac and I hated going to bed alone while he was up on the computer or something.
I've been really enjoying my hour-long cardio at the gym, surprisingly. Sunday is my yoga class, yay! (Christmas present from Nick)
This morning (140.0) I was like, oh yeah, i remember this, it's easy to lose weight when you eat good and go to the gym. But why was it so hard to stop gaining/lose those few pounds as they were creeping up?
I wonder if I should only weigh myself weekly. I love the positive reinforcement of a daily reading when the scale goes down. And I don't want to get in a situation again where I unknowingly let myself gain. But I've seen so many ladies on this site get addicted and their relationship to food and their bodies get all skewed and take over their life and mental energy. I want to guard against that. For now maybe I'm safe weighing daily, but maybe around 125 (when the loss is sloowww) I should switch to weekly.

I think I can agree wt that :) i totally feel blessed. I was a freelancer b4 I started working full time and while that was more relaxing , it was never this rewarding.
Ok ladies, what's your favorite mantra or quote?
