130/120 Club?
If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?
Thank you :)
So much for 1/2 year already gone. I'm back at the weight I was on Jan 1 this year, so lost the 4-5 lbs I packed in the winter.
This month I maintained at 131 lbs (59.5 kg) which is quite an achievement. At least I didn't bounce up & down. I'm increasing both ST and the calories. I'm eating clean, still, but more. I've got more energy , apparently, so maybe I WAS eating too few. For the past 2 weeks I've averaged 1500-1600 cal intake yet my weight hasn't gone up.
Welcome Shapeshifter! I'm Carrie and I've been here for about a year and a half now. 5'7" and around 131 lbs. I'm currently working on eating healthier/portion control, and running with weight training. I'm pretty happy with where I am weight wise but would like a more sculpted look :)
In yoga this morning I could really tell that my thighs are getting more shape to them. Hellooo sexy legs! I also work a moisture wicking shirt with a built in bra (no need to double up if I'm not running!) and it was way more comfortable than cotton 'a-frame' or wifebeater ;) Those are my favorite workout shirts and I have two in white, black, and grey. I HATE wearing t-shirts.. it's just too dang hot.
Weight lifting gave me the weirdest thigh soreness I've ever had. When I lay on my stomach the tops of my thighs are sore when they touch the bed, or ground or whatever. It's almost like a big strawberry-bruise! But I guess that my legs are just getting 'bigger'? More muscle?! Hopefully?
Where is Margo?
Where is Heather?
Cris - huge congrats on upping the calories but staying in the same weight range, that's awesome and it proves that you needed a bit more, perhaps you'll be happier and your weight will eventually drop!

I hope my body will want to lose the rest of the weight. I seem to have more energy but then again last week was TTOM and I'm generally sluggish on that week. But so far, so good.
I have to find time to do my ST today. I'm going to talk to my boss soon and then hit the weights
Hello ladies!!! :D
I'm here Carrie. :)
I've been browsing the forum the last week....but haven't commented.
It seems like everyone is doing well. :) Happy to hear it! :)
I posted a journal entry today...
Though gotta get back to work right now. Can't wait for the long weekend (and just hope the weather is sunny! dangit!!! Come on!!! ;D)
Ttyl.

"Hit the weights"-- Wow, Chris, that sounds so tough and hard core! I'm loving it! :)
Carrie- yuck about the legs! It it actually like a big red bruise? If so, could it be that your legs are most sore from pushing against the pads of one of the lifting machines where you push up with your thighs? It sounds like more contact soreness than muscle soreness...Either way, sounds very uncomfortable!
Right now I have this killer sunburn line for the inch on top of where my swimsuit bottoms are- they were rolled down further one day than all the rest. Everything else is dark tan, that line is bright red. It hurts to move!! It's so not as hard core as a weight lifting bruise, but I imagine it feels at least somewhat the same!!
Shapeshifter- thanks for the article! It's always great to have people post what they find. Thanks!!
Right now I'm getting super, super impatient for my TOTM to come!! Even though I know there's such a super small chance of something haven gone wrong with bc, when it comes later in the week it's supposed to come, it makes me nervous!! And, i want it to come and go so I can weigh myself again already!!
Went out to a bar last night with a friend from school who lives in this area and is back in town visiting family. Gabe and I met up with some of her friends for this trivia night at this great pub- one that totally reminded me of my favorite at school- and it was so, so nice to go out with friends!! Also made me miss home (minnesota home) again, too- I miss when having friends here to go out with was a normal occurance!! Ah well...patience...and while I'm waiting, I did get a great margarita out of it! :)
We are going to a BBQ on Sat. It's dad's b-day 2morrow but we all of us off over the weekend we are going to party on Sat. Hopefully it's going to be sunny. I could use some more sun on my skin ;)
Then on Jul 12 we are supposed to go a baptism. YUCK! Not my kind of party. Thankfully it's "casual dressing" so at least I don't need to buy anything. Still I need to get my manicure done and my eyebrows plucked.
what BC are you on? pill? it never arrives late for me . i know for sure that it hits on Tue or Wed. :) haven't had any scares in 7 yrs! pfuuu
Chris- on the pill. It's not late exactly...it always comes sometime during this week. It used to come later in the week- on Thursday or Friday- but the last couple months it's come earlier, on Monday or Tuesday. So no real cause for concern yet, just getting antsy!!
Mine says that it should start 3-4 days after the last active pill (so on 24th or 25th day). And it always did. Over the years though it went from lasting 4 days to only 2-3 days which is not bad at all.
I am very sure you don't need to worry :)
I'm close to your cycles Cris & Rebekkah as a matter of fact, I'm smack in the middle of you to, good to know because I sometimes forget and then am crazy emotional and eating like a banchee the week before. My ttom is on right now and it's driving me nuts, my weight ballooned this am, I don't know why I get on the scale when I'm on my cycle. It's so narcissistic! anywhoo, Thank you for the warm welcome ladies :) and I'm so proud of myself that I got to be in this group finally! I waited nearly 2 years just to pop in and join! Can you believe that ;)
Hi Carrie ;) What's a moisture wicking shirt with a built in bra, is that a brand? I find that my sports bra's are not very good and the running and jumping up and down is causing some stretch marks (ack!) I'm a D cup and hoping to get back to my normal C cup when I hit the 120's
Hi Rennai ;) I think the 5 pound rule is one of the smartest rules I've ever heard of, there's a guy who blogs it's called Fitness Tips Black Book, he talks about this, some his techniques for losing weight I don't think are not the healthiest like the fasting stuff, BUT he makes a good point with the 5 pound Rule, he say's that everyone has an ideal weight and you should never go above 5 pounds of it or below 5 pounds of it, he dalls the 5 pounds below the ideal weight, the 'event' weight. It's temporary for like a wedding or party, event, etc., It makes sense. I think your on the right path, I hope to be there with you soon :)
Hi Gretamarie ;) first off congrats on the new baby! and getting down to your weight! I saw your pix, you look wonderful. When I had my daughter years ago, I went from 105 pounds to 185, mind you, I got Gestational Diabetes from it, and was very unhealthy. I didn't have proper care, I was very young and not mature enough, well lesson learned and my body has been a roller coaster ever since. I did get back to 120 pounds after my child was born, but I don't remember eating? I lost my appetite, literally after she was born. Maybe it was post pardom. That was years ago, anywhoo they grow up really really fast ;) enjoy the 7 month old and hold the baby as much as you can, I remember just being in awe of the tiny fingers and toes! ;) cute cute
So I'm trying to decide whether to run outside or do my kickboxing, regardless I should NOT have gotten on the scale this am, I know that it's my cycle but still, can the weight fluctuate 2-3 pounds like that?! Cris I feel your pain girl, I'm right there with you.....
It's Wednesday again! Today is normally my mid-week long run, but since we moved our really long run from Saturday to Friday, I tried to take it easy today and ran 6 on the treadmill instead of outside with the hills. I'm in a running funk and need to have a really good 10 miler on Friday to re-motivate me. 25 days until my race!
LW: 125.8
CW: 125.2
Not bad.
Shapeshifter--I just bought a wicking shirt w/ built in bra that is North Face. I got it at Sports Authority and it was on sale for $20 which I thought was a deal. I'm only a B cup and I don't wear it w/o a sports bra--but maybe I would for yoga or pilates or weightlifting--definitely not running :)

Believe it or not, i hardly ever bloat b4 TTOM. Maybe it's the BCP. But for the past 2 months I managed to hold the weight (I weigh in on Wed for this thread reporting and TTOM hit last week on Wed morning).
Hmmm I kept looking for the weight report from last Wed but evidently I skipped posting it LOL
Anyway, I'm at 130.9 lbs today which means I'm not doing bad at all :)
Ok, I'm envious. I'm barely a B cup LOL I wear 36B bras
Oh my gosh, you guys weigh in on Wednesdays... that's great. My TOM weight is 140 this am ;( I was sooo upset, but just yesterday I was 138 and last week I was 136! it's driving me insane, I haven't seen 140 in over a month! what gives? Ok, I know I'm holding onto water, plus ate pickles last night, bad craving, so I will drink up my water today and post again tomorrow.
Cris, girl trust me I'm sometimes get envious of B cups escpeciallly, when there are cute dresses and shirts that are low low cut, I can't get away with wearing that w/o looking like a hoochie mamma! so I get envious too ;)
...but you can skip the reporting during TTOM :)
well at least I can get away wt not wearing bras. but i like push up bras under low cut blouses. i do like to wear sport bras (I wear S/M so they are easy to find).
HeHe I love pickles! I don't keep them at home b/c I can eat wayyyyy too many LOL
Shapeshifter- I used to weigh during my TOTM, and now avoid weighing in within a few days before, during, or after. I just get too bummed out! So try not to worry about your weigh in today- from all I can tell, 2-3 lbs is definitely not out of the line for TOTM weight. If you were 138 yesterday, that's a great sign, and unless you ate lots of fatty food (and I don't think pickles count as fatty!) the weight is probably just water weight.
Greta- I think getting a new shirt before a race is a great idea- it's fun to wear, so more fun to run! 25 days- woo! That's so awesome!
Just went to go meet Gabe for lunch in town, so a little less control than I like over my food. Had a half veggie sandwich and half salad, though, so probably still a little higher but overall ok. Then we stopped at my new favorite chapel hill spot- "The Yogurt Pump." We split a cup of their fat free yogurt- today's special was a strawberry and chocolate mix! mmm!
Off to the gym now- trying to get in a good long run and then body pump after. Here we go!
wicking shirts basically suck up the sweat from your body and move it away to the outside of the shirt. That sounds weird... but it keeps you cooler and you don't have sweaty spots since the shirt is redistributing it. Think of like evaporative cooling hahaha. Love them. All major brands make stuff, like Nike Dri fit and Adida I don't remember what :)
My roommate is getting implants this month hahaha. I'm a C and can see both sides. Shirts/dresses and clothes in general don't fit great and they can be annoying with workouts but I also think mine are small for my shoulder frame so I would want bigger hahaha. I'm just shaped weird I guess.
Shapey (that's your nickname from now on since I don't feel like typing out the whole username...or you could give us your first name too :) ) TOTM gain is generally 3-5 lbs so don't sweat it and stay away from the scale until next Wednesday!
Leaving in the morning, so excited!!! Talk to y'all *carrie ;)* next Tuesday!
Call me a nerd but I'm watching Michael Jackson's concert from Bucharest 1992. It's on MTV Romania (and on a website). I'll probably have to change the channel when hubby gets home from work though :)
PS Rebekkah, I would never eat at a place called The Yogurt Pump hahaha Sounds sooooo unappetizing. Reminds me of a breast pump.
O.o. Shapeshifter, I totally feel your pain with the boobs. I have been in between a C and D cup since like 9th grade and recently started getting my bra's at a specialty store ($100 a pop too!) but they are amazing. I am so jealous of people with small boobs. Like Cris said, sometimes they don't even have to wear a bra. I can't even imagine what that would feel like... such freedom. I hear you on the hoochie mama comment. I think I have cleavage no matter what I do. Gah I can't imagine what will happen when I have a baby.. I'll have a boob shelf. I envy the 'sporty' look.
Greta - I think we have the same shirt. Weird! Mine is a North Face that my mom just bought me on sale. It's light light green and has a neat little seam down the back where it opens up about an inch before the bottom (that didn't sound like a good discription). I wore it without a sports bra for weight lifting this weekend and for yoga this morning and it was great. I've also worn it with a sports bra under it for running and it is still.. great!
Shapeshifter - moisture wicking is something it said on the tag, I don't know the actual material.. polyester? Unlike cotton where when you sweat it stays wet this actually keeps you dryer. So I pulls the moisture/sweat from your body as you workout and when you are done you aren't soaking which is usually what I am!
Cris - I also have small sports bras because I have a smaller torso but I have to double up on them.
Rebekkah - Good that you got to visit with friends! I know that made you homesick. Sometimes it's just easier to pretend people don't exist (that sounds mean but I don't mean it like that) than to get back into the emotion of things. Like my friends from back home I try to see every once in a while but I have to put off my feelings sometimes because I know it will just make it worse. (this is sounding really negative.)
On a happier note I'll be seeing my college roommate this weekend. She recently got engaged and lives in Kansas but spends the majority of the year doing full time mission work in one of those crazy -stan countries west of China.. you know where you have to wear different stuff ;) She's an awesome girl and I can't wait to see her. But it will be a sad thing to have her leave.
Margo - Yay!! I've missed you!
Everyone posted at the same time!
Bye Rennai - I have fun! I can't wait to hear how it goes for *ya'll*. Bless. your. heart.
And on my small frame my C/D's look like porn stars and sometimes I think they look like they are all the way down to my elbows.. but that's just a personal pet peeve. Annoying, but yes, I'm proud.
Well just to figure out how much I "love" bras...I've got 2 black ones , a skin color one and 2 sports bras. I wear them only when I absolutely HAVE to. But I can get away wt cute tank tops and never have to wear bras wt them. That's what I get for wearing S/M clothes (S in US, M in Europe; we have smaller sizes here)
