I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

Hi Ali!  Nice to meet you!  This is a fantastic group of women (and yes, I am just a little biased).  Sounds like your goals fit right in with the rest of ours.  Welcome!

I'm Ingrid.  I just had a baby 12 weeks ago and have made it back down to 127 (I'm 5'6").  Not sure what my end goal is yet, as I really want to improve my running time and don't know what my optimal weight for that would be.

Greta - Are the house projects done?  Do you get some sanity back this week?

Rennai - I love the pictures!  I'm so glad that you guys got to meet up and that neither of you turned out to be creepy old men (yes, I do think about that sometimes!).  Glad it was fun!

Carrie - I've never read that version of the fairytale!  No throwing my little guy against the wall though, never fear.

Happy Monday, everyone!

Good morning ladies!

Greta, Ingrid is right on, are the projects finished yet?  Won't it kind of be like having a new place once the floors are done?  How does running look this week?

Rennai and Rebekkah, it sounds like you guys had a great time.  I, of course, am totally jealous.  But come on, let's do a cruise!  I'm all about it.

Halloween was really good I had a few pieces of candy and then got really sick of it, weird for me.  So I didn't go over board there.  I also had someone ask if I was pregnant since my parents visited for only 2 days.  Weird.  They were like, I saw your parents.. they were only here for one night?  Are you pregnant.  NO.

Dani I checked out your halloween pictures, very awesome.  I LOVE your hair :)  I need to post some of mine, I only have like one of me though.

I can't post much as I'm squating on the floor, leaning over the bed on the computer and trying to keep my child from getting into the dog's bed....floors still being worked on!  Maybe tomorrow will be the last day :)

I need to check out everyone's pictures, and I realized I don't think I'm friends with Heather on FB--so I need to find you so I can see your Elvis pics!

Welcome Ali!  Your story sounds similar to most of ours--last few pounds, put on in college, and it's hard to admit to people around you that you want to lose weight because they think you are crazy.  I'm Greta--I stay at home with my 11 month old baby.  I really started using calorie count in 2007 and went from about 138ish to 125 (I'm 5'6") and then I got pregnant.  So, I gained A LOT, and came back to CC as soon as baby got here.  I'm rediculously down to 119 right now, and fully expect to gain a few back as soon as I stop nursing.  I love, love, love to run, and pretty much don't do anything else.

Rebekkah and Rennai!  Awesome!  I was thinking about you guys and hoping it all went okay, because then it would just be wierd.  Yay!  And, you guys are cracking me up.  I have never once thought any of you might be a creepy old man!  Maybe I'm naive :)

It sounds like none of us went crazy on the candy.  I had two peices on Halloween.  That is soooooo not like me.  My mom brought me some of her left overs, and I will take it easy on them.  I did have the Dreyer's slow churned pumpkin ice cream yesterday.  Who told us about that?  Rebekkah?  It was yummy.  I actually would have liked it to have a little less pumpkin pie spiceyness to it.  But, it was very good.

I fit in a long run on Saturday--me and the baby did 8.5 miles and this morning I did 5 on the treadmill.  The weather here is supposed to be in the 70's this week so I will hopefully do all the outdoor running I can.  Although, babies don't fully understand "fall back"  and sleep an extra hour, so this morning we were up so early I ran on the treadmill because the sun wasn't up all the way yet!

My child keeps crawling in the dog bed, so I better go!  I willl hopefully get to see everyone's pictures during his naptime today!

Great pictures rennai and rebekkah! This makes me so excited to meet you girls. I'm with greta, never thought anyone was an old man so i must be naive too haha

Carrie and Greta i think us three may have the biggest sweet teeth and we did pretty well! yay for us :-)

Greta sorry to hear the floors arent done yet. Ahh the 70's! i wish it was that warm here that is perfect for running IMO.

I'm getting excited for my cruise!! its less than 2 weeks away...and im excited to exercise haha I can't wait to exercis eon the ship. How cool will it be to run on the outdoor track. I'll be able to smell the ocean and feel the breeze! i really need to pick it up with my eating habits and running if i want to feel totally comfortable in my bthing suit again!

think i can make 20 miles? it may have to be a combination of running elliptical swimming and biking becaus eof my legs, but hopefully it will be mostly running.

Anna are you still with us?

Good morning Ladies!! Happy Monday.

Guess what? Me and my Crayon crew won the best team costume contest at my work. Yay for us!!!

The weekend was ok. I spent all night Friday at the hospital with my mom. More bad news I'm afraid but we will get by. Halloween was ok. It was cooler out than last year so we had less kids but my son sure got lots of candy. THen on Sunday, me and my family all got together for Family Photos. It was good to all hang out together.

Oh and yesterday I weighed myself 133.4!!! Yay!! I didn't weigh myself this morning intentionally because I had about 20 cups of coffee yesterday with flavored coffee cream and KFC for supper last night and didn't work out. I'm sure I wasn't 133.4 this morning so I didn't even try checking. I'll take my sunday weight and run with it. This week I will have to work out on Friday since I missed yesterday. Should be pretty easy though since we won't be doing anything. Saturday we will. It's my big 3-0 party!!! My husband and girlfriend have something planned but I don't know what yet...

Hi Ali, Welcome. I'm Stacy. I live in Canada. I'm 5'4 and 133.4 as noted above there. I'm trying to get to 125ish like you. I do cardio (usually power walking and the stationary bike) and weights and yoga and try to eat around 1500 calories. What are you doing to try to get to your goal?

I'm right there with the naive girls... I never thought any of you were creepy old men.. although if you were this would probably be a good place to prowl LOL.

Rebekkah and Rennai- I'm glad you guys had a great time. That just makes chatting that much more fun when you have met the people you're chatting with.

Carrie- good for you with the treats this weekend. You tell us about your sweet tooth all the time so to go the whole weekend with only a few is awesome. I don't have much of a sweet tooth most of the time so I did ok this weekend too. I think I had about 5 treats over the course of 3 days.

Anyway ladies. I will check in with ya later. Have a good day!

Hi Ladies, Happy Monday... Carrie thanks for IM'ing me on FB...

Stacy! congrats on 133.4! I need to get back there stat... after tom I'm at 136 and havne't weighed myself since thurs...

OK Halloween cursed candy gone! yay! I'm soooo over milk chocolate, I ate so much chocolate last week it's a dag on shame! so I will be back to normal this week... plan on getting a good work out in today, it's a new Month! so I gotta start fresh and Stacy seeing that you are down motivates me! plus my horoscope said that if I'm working on my fitness this month, I could see my body transform itself! so that's motivating ;)

Hi to everyone else, just wanted to stop by and say hello!

Hi Ladies!

Boy oh boy have I missed TONS!

I only just seemed to catch that apparently David and Rennai are back together..is that right? So great!

Then that Rennai and Rebekkah actually met up in person! double great! :D

also remembering that Tracy is getting married this Saturday!!! triple great! hehe. :D

I miss you all!!

Also noticed a few new faces or newer faces since I know I haven't been on in a while...Welcome. :D

I hate that I've missed SO much and still have tons to catch up on!

I noticed too something about a Christmas exchange and that Carrie asked if I wanted to join...

Yes I would. Though need to go through the posts to find out the rules and all that!

Also, just wanted to say, I miss you (again!) and that I hope you all had a great Halloween!

Can't believe it's already November...sigh!

Well, I will have to catch up more w. you lovely ladies later.

(huge hugs!!!)

Take care, ttyl...hopefully soon!

~Margo

Margo!!!  I'm so glad that you posted!!!!  Tell us what's going on in your life!  I am dying to know how you've been and loving the profile picture :)

I'm trying to be very good about not snacking but I had a pumpkin candy corn.  I know it's not a big deal but I'm really trying to cut out snacking today.  I can have hot tea.  That's all.

BUT! I have beef stew in the crock pot and wowza does it smell good.  (I have about an hour at home before I teach) I'm looking forward to it very much.  Ok I have to run :)

Yay Margo!

OMG I have to share this. Quote of the day, via my darling dear David Hoefer. I told him I will be starting my celebration in a couple days... he wrote back

"Celebration!! It's good now and then to have a little party."

Hi there!! :D

Well, I've been busy at work lately and don't seem to check the internet on the weekend..so I've been soo out of touch. :(

I'm trying to get back into the swing of things, AGAIN, with the gym. Also, though, I have been bingeing on candy a lot..errr..:( So, I'm sure that hasn't helped me. :(

I think of you ladies often, though I don't get to read the posts much lately. :(

Anyway...

another big thing is my bf and I are in the works to getting a house.  We had put in an offer on a house back in May, which was a short sale and it fell through. Then a few months back we put in another offer on a house and that didn't go far before we rejected the counter offer. So, now...over the past several weeks we've been in the works for this 3rd place and things have progressed a lot with it, though it also is a short sale. So...we'll see...

It's so frustrating w. that too..takes up a lot of time. :(

Oh yeah, and with my bday coming up in a couple weeks..and have no idea if there will be a celebration...sigh. I have a long time friend who just turned 30 a couple weeks ago...and had a nice party w. her family.friends (she's in Idaho)...and I know that Greta recently turned 30....and it seemed to turn out lovely! I just hope the same happens for me! :D It's just something that gets to me....

So, that's about it for now.

Nice that you're workin' on your snacking, Carrie (I have to do the same...it's getting to me..the snacking...).  Congrats on the yummy beef stew! :D

Well, I'll have to post more later...

Take care! Ttyl ladies!

Nice meeting you all!

Carrie, to answer your question, I go to law school at Villanova. I enjoy it as much as you can like school, I guess, but I'm really frustrated right now because the legal job market is terrible. The stress of school combined with the stress of finding a job in an oversaturated market has really been eating at me this semester!

Stacy, it sounds like I am right with you as far as goals. I'm trying to get into running (I am running about 2 1/2 - 3 miles now.. trying to build my endurance) and also doing a lot of power walking. I try to eat around 1500 calories too, give or take 100, depending on how I'm feeling that day.

Ingrid and Gretchen, congratulations on losing so much weight after having your babies! That's really impressive. I wish I could have the same mentality about running as you do, Gretchen. I'm starting to like it more, but still feel like I need to be trying to do more. It's hard for me to push myself, but I'm trying.

So, I need to do something about all this Halloween candy I have. I bought a ton (literally every type of candy you could think of) and did not get ONE trick or treater (I live in an apartment complex, so I guess they just don't trick or treat here). I now have this big orange pumpkin filled with candy and smiling at me, inviting me to eat! I only had one mini Three Musketeer bar today, but I'm thinking I might need to give it away to my neighbors because there's no way I can keep being this disciplined when all this candy is sitting right in front of me.

Also, I noticed when you guys have been talking about your weight that many of you have included decimals. This might sound stupid, but do you have a special scale that allows you to get that exact? The scale I have right now sucks. It's some cheap thing my mom bought me from Ikea a couple years ago that you have to zero every time you use it, and each dash counts for 2 lbs so it's impossible to be exact. I'm thinking I need to get a new scale if I want to do this calorie count thing justice. Any suggestions?

Margo! it's so good to hear from you. We understand what busy lifestyles are like so dont feel bad, just dont lose touch completley! we are here to support you! Good luck with the house that can be stressful (my fiance and i decided not to buy because we want to pay off our school loans first, just for a little update)

Rennai i will be celebrating with you! and david is so right, everyone needs to party!

Ali, sorry to hear about the stresses of finding a job and completing school. Where did you say you lived? I'm from Maine and in this grand ol state unemployment is still onthe rise, but i hear it's getting better in other states. About the scale, it sound slike you need a new one. the one i use is junky, but it at leat goes by .5 increments. Oh and pleaaasee take this advice: take measurements. we are all at the lower weight ranges for our heights, so measurements can sometimes be a more accurate progress tracker

4.5 mile run tonight ladies..the legs werent cooperating i had to stop and stretch but i made it. had a sweet potato and asperagus for dinner, will probably have some turkey to. look at me go! haha

Dani, look at you go! lol. I bought sweet potatoes on Saturday so I could make them into meals! Yum!!!!!!!! 4 miler over here tonight too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so my ring fell out and David found it at his house, that's why I said I would be starting, but I decided since it came out yesterday i'm just going over later tonight to get it and put it back in. Don't want to waste a 2 day old ring!!! That means I will get a workout and then another workout hahaha! I love him

Anyway.... Ali, shout out to my 1986 sister!!!! I am Rennai. I am in grad school, MBA, I graduate this spring!!! I can't imagine what you are going through.  A friend of mine just passed the bar and can't find work either :( people don't have money for attorney's I guess. It will get better!

Get rid of your candy. I am bringing mine to work tomorrow to give to the front desk!!! Exciting.

Oh and not sure if I told y'all... Saturday morning David was over and weighed himself in front of me. The boy is in fact losing weight. A lot of weight. 138.7 at 6'3''. You have no idea how depressed it makes me that my boyfriend weighs less than me and is 6 inches taller. I love him and think he is beautiful, it's not about him. It's about feeling like a walrus. UGH

Anyway, Ali I am 5'9'' and 140, you can see in my pictures what that looks like. I hope to get back to 130, my ideal weight.

Hey there!!  Great to hear from Margo!!  how exciting with the home buying!!  That is one thing i NEVER think about since NYC is totally insane with prices.  Ali, great to meet you.  I am Sarah, 32 (eekk oldest of the group i think).  I live in NYC and am single (second date is wednesday btw) and live probably too much of a social/party lifestyle.  I was recently training for a marathon but got an awful case of runners knee so I packed on about 5 lbs on top of 5 others that i was trying to lose.  I am afraid to weigh myself after a weekend of Halloween cocktails but last week i was 133.  I want to get to 125 but the likelihood of that is rare.  Most likely 128ish is a good weight.

I try to be obsessed with calorie counting and exercises but I am not good at being obsessed at all!  ha!!  Being on this site keeps me in check and makes me take account of what i eat, drink and do...

I am heading to a swim practice again tomorrow morning.  It is at 6:30 am though in the east village so since i live in Brooklyn, that means i will be leaving my apartment around 5:45.  Barf.  But i really hope i like this second practice as much as the first.

Rennai and Rebekkah, love that you had a ball together.  Very fun!!

Since i have no children and do not live in an area where kids are, i can thankfully say that i did not eat any candy, BUT NYC is insane with Halloween so i was out until 4 am on saturday morning (really 3 with the time change) and had a ton of vodka soda's.  Lovely.  So needless to say i did not workout yesterday instead I sucked down as much advil and water as possible!

talk soon chicas!!

Margo!!!  Woot-Woot!  So happy to hear from you!  You and Ingrid are like two weeks apart in age.  She's turning 30 very soon too!  We have a mini 1979 group here.  Stacy too, like this weekend, right?

Ali-I saw on the news today there are organizations that will collect your candy and send it to the troops overseas.  Just a thought.

Rennai-your pictures are so cute.  I love it.  And, you are much taller!  You both look great!  And, that does not sound like a very healthy weight for David!  My husband is 6'2" and like 210lbs--not fat at all. Enjoy your "party" tonight :)  Maybe I should have a "party" too :)

Dani-Wow dinner!  I love sweet potatoes.  We eat them all the time.  In fact I almost never eat normal potatoes anymore.

Carrie-What were your ideas for the Holiday Exchange?  I was thinking about it today, but I didn't come up with much :)

And Tracy IS getting married Saturday.  We haven't heard from her in awhile (go figure!) but lets all send positive wedding thoughts her way :)

Soraya-It is a new month!  Gone with the old and all the candy!  We're here for ya sista!

Stacy-You'll have to let us know about the big b-day weekend!  Yay for the 133.4!

Good morning girls!

Dani - thanks for the suggestions. Sounds like you had a good day yesterday! I'm from Pittsburgh but am living outside of Philly for school. I can't imagine living as far north as you do.. I don't know how you could stand the cold!

Rennai - good job with the run! That's awesome that you're getting your MBA.. my bf is looking to do that, too. What school are you going to?

Sarah - I can totally feel your pain about the social lifestyle. With school, I don't have tooo much time to go out, but I still love going out to eat/going to the bar for a few drinks, etc. I'm actually going to NYC this weekend to visit some friends and I know watching what I eat/drink will go out the window. Oh well! I think you have to cut yourself some slack sometimes. The way I see it, that's what working out is for. If I were you, I'd wait and maybe weigh yourself after a few days of working out. That way you don't get discouraged.

Well, I'm off to start another fun-filled day of class, working out and homework (yuck!). Have a great day, everyone!

Hidy ho ladies... Happy Tuesday. I'm in a good mood today, despite sleeping in and only having 20 minutes to get ready. That is a challenge with a child. My son is sooooooooo not a morning person and is very slow moving when it comes to getting dressed in the am.

Ali, I agree with all the ladies. You should try to give away your candy if possible. I plan on putting mine out at the big BDAY Bash this weekend. Hopefully I won't pick at it. However I don't usually do sweets when I'm drinking so shouldn't be a problem. Also I have a digital scale so I can have the decimals in my weight. We are all at the point where losing is so hard that every amount of weight counts even if it is only 0.1lbs. And, I totally know about the cold. I'm in Canada and we have already had snow and wind chills this year. Brrr! I hate winter...

Shout out to the 1979 ladies!! Holla! Yep big 3-0 is actually on Monday but the party is on Saturday. I can't wait. It will be such a great distraction from all that is going on right now with my mom. All my best buds will be there and we have guitar hero, foosball and booze. And being that it's Canada, i'm sure we'll have a hockey game on too! YAY!

Rennai- 138.7??? seriously.. I'm a sucker for the skinny white boy but that is a bit too thin I think. does it at least suit him. My husband is 5'10 and 170lbs. At his lowest was 145 and that was perfect I thought. Although I still love him at 170. I agree with you though. I cringe at the thought of being heavier than my husband. I'm in the clear right now but I don't ever want to get there.

Sarah- Hope you have a great swim... 545 is not that bad. I get up at 430 every morning. That's gross!!!

So I had a great work out last night. I did my usual lunch time walk with the ladies. Then last night I did 20 min on the bike and an hour of weights. I did the max of every exercise. The greatest part of it was that I didn't even want to work out last night but made myself and then suddenly I had the new found energy in the midst of the workout that helped me really rock it. Anyway ladies, I will chat with you later

Have a great day..

PS Greta how are the floors???

Morning Ladies,

I just had a thought, what if Rebekkah never comes back to the forum. What if there was something secretly wrong with me and now she never comes back because I made her so uncomfortable?

I think David is beautiful, he is not trying to lose weight, he just has one of those bodies. I think from the waist up he looks really good for his size, he has muscle and all that, it's just his legs that are tiny. Seriously his thighs are like half the size of mine. Here are pictures http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus eaction=viewImage&friendID=121027231& albumID=493481&imageID=29916949

In the next one he's wearing sunglasses.

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus eaction=viewImage&friendID=121027231& albumID=1610331&imageID=29414875

Anyway, we took me to lunch yesterday and i had a salad and he had a burrito, so it's already balancing out lol.

Last night I only got in 2.5 miles because my knee really hurts. I had surgery on it when I was 11 and ever since it can't really take a lot of high impact. That's why I've never been a runner, but I thought maybe the treadmill would be ok? Guess not. So i Suppose I need to take it easy on my knee with just power walking on an incline for while. Sucks because that means I will have to go so much longer! Oh well.

BUT, I went to David's and we had an hour and a half party! It was out of control! Greta, did you end up having a party too?

Margo, I do not envy you. I was so depressed when looking for a house, it's SUCH a hard thing to do. Good luck lady.

Oh and shout out to the 1979 people too. I might be 1986 but my love is a 1979 brat too, though he's in April, so he has all y'all beat :)

Hello everyone!  Gosh so much to catch up on :)

Stacy it's your birthday this weekend?!  How wonderful :)  I can't wait to hear about all the celebrations.  There are a lot of people who are turning 30 this year.  Amazing.. I'm only 25.  :( Rennai is younger though.

Ali it's great to learn more about you.  I also have a friend who just passed the bar and now he can't find a job plus he's super smart, presidential scholar etc. It's sad.  Hopefully things will turn around a little bit before you graduate.  When do you graduate?

Greta (great!) how are the floors coming?  I had to laugh that Ali called you Gretchen ;)  I thought it was soooo cute (no offense Ali, it really did make me laugh)  Because we all misspell her name Great instead of Greta and now I'm going to start typing Gretchen instead!

Sarah I hope that your swim goes well this morning, and don't worry about waking up early, lots of us do.  Stacy at her 4:30 (now that's early) and I usually am up by 5:15-6:15 depending on the day.  Of course.. I'm a morning person so that makes a big difference.

Rennai you guys need to get that nuvaring under control over there.  I think it's really funny that you guys are so laid back.  jaime would flip if it came out.  He can't even watch me take a tampon to the bathroom, poor guy.

Dani you are amazing, that dinner sounds so healthy and so good.  I don't think I'm the biggest fan of sweet potatoes but I do like butternut squash so maybe they are kinda similar?  I don't know.

Margo how frustrating with all the house stuff and the work stuff and stress stress stress.  It's so great to hear from you :)

Beef stew was not that great, I guess I just don't like it that much?  It was way too mushy and there wasn't really any liquid.  I don't know, maybe my idea of beef stew is too much like Beef Stroganoff.. yummy!  Whatever.  Jaime loved it so that's nice.

Last night I was supposed to go run and I didn't because I didn't have anything to pull my hair back with (I'm a loser I know).  Instead I went to Walmart and bought a whole bunch of discounted Halloween candy since we gave all of ours away.  (I know... I know) BUT I didn't go over board with the eating of the candy and this morning weighed in at the ever popular weight of 129.5 once again.  I just can't help buy buy the candy if it's on sale.  I mean, when will I ever get a large bag of m&ms for only a dollar?  Ok anyway.  I woke up early this morning and went to the gym.

Here's my thing ladies.  I'm having a hard time with some stuff. For about two weeks now I've been monitoring my eating more and really focusing on not overeating during the day.  I also haven't been running as much as I usually do, or really just as far.  But I've seen some progress not just with my weight but in my body tone.  So  here's what I'm thinking.  I'm not going to make running my biggest deal at the gym like it used to be.  I think I'm going to work on some HIIT stuff instead.  This morning I ran a 10:30 mile and then I speed walked a mile on an incline of 8.0.  I really felt this in my thighs. I also did some ab work (where you lay on your back and let your feet fall but not hit the ground and then come back up... ouch!) and then I did dumbbells for a little bit.

I would still like to keep my base up of running a long run between 4-6 miles each week but I think on the other days I'd like to focus on lifting and strenghtneing more.  Let me know what you think.  I'm kinda sad, but I'm kinda excited?  I'm sure in 6 months I'll change it up again.

OMG why did I Greta Gretchen??? Soo embarrassed!! I read Greta, but must have just thought in my head Gretchen. I'm so sorry!
