hi.  What a great forum.  I was 175 pounds and now I am down to 136. I am 5' 8".  My long term goal is 132 pounds, but the last 4 pounds are proving the hardest to lose!  I have really reached a plateau.  I lost 1 pound last week but that was the first time in 3 weeks.  I have saved up and am starting with a personal trainer on Monday - once every 2 weeks for the next 2 months.  Fingers crossed he can help me get the last few pounds off and tone up.  My goal is to reach a US size 6! 

Thanks for  this forum, nice to know there are others out there with same struggle.  Everyone keeps saying you are thin, why did you need to lose more?  But I still have the extra belly flab that has to go and I want to be confident and comfortable in a size 6.

yeah eskimo, i feel ya on the flat stomach thing. any goal weight i set doesn't really matter if i get there and i still have a pooch.

130.2 ---I'm back from vacation and up 1.4 lbs.  Not too bad, I guess.  It took me forever to break the 130 barrier...hopefully it won't take me too long to get back to 128.

Goal--125.  I've set a goal date for 1/1/08.  It will be very hard with the impending holiday season.  If we use each other for support, we can make it through!
Great job gretamarie!  Though at the begining of September I was down to 130.5, I'm back up to 135.  I gained a few pounds on vacation and then just couldn't get back into dieting mode.  I'm really trying to get motivated, but with all the candy corn around I keep failing.  My goal is 120 by March.  I've been stuck at 135 for three weeks now. 

10/24 weigh in:

133 lbs.  Down 2 lbs. Finally getting serious about watching what I eat.  Goal: 120 lbs. 

P.S.  How tall are you guys?  It helps to put things in perspective.  I'm 5'5''.  Medium frame.  Starting weight was near 140 lbs.  Current:  133.  Goal is 120 lbs.
Hi!  I am finally ready to join the 130/120 club!  I am so excited!  I've looked down at my scale and have FINALLY seen the magic 129 staring back up at me.....I had to jump on it at least 3 more times to be sure I wasn't seeing things!  I thought it would never happen....wow that 130 mark is a hard one to break....I hoping for 125 by New Year....congratulations to everyone else too!  I am so proud of all of us!
I'm in the 130's club, tryina be in the 120's club. 5'6" med. frame.
10/24 Weigh In:

128.0 today :)  A 2.2 lb loss from last week.  I think it's too good to be true.  Maybe my vacation weight wasn't real weight gain, but water retention, or something. 

Congrats Tanya on your two pound loss!  I am 5'6'' and medium framed.  My "short term" goal has been 125 --hopefully by January 1st  (like you, burnyh), but the more I think about it....I may institute a long term goal of 120.  My starting weight in June was 137.  At our weight--it comes off soooo slowly.  What's your goal date?  Do you have a "plan" to get through the holidays?

Wow gretamarie!  That's incredible!  Good for you!  128!  That used to be my "normal" weight.  Now it seems like my body would rather be around 135lbs.   I would love to be down to 120 by March.  We're going to Mexico and I'd like to feel good in my bikini:).

Hi everyone - I'm 5'3.5", 22 years old and just went from 141 in May down to 131. My goal is 125, because that is the weight I feel and look lean and fit, but my body really really likes being around 130/135. Does anyone have any pointers for pushing through and shedding these last five pounds? Thanks!

I'm with you gretamarie....I've been deciding to re-examine my goal of 125 to maybe 120, but I think I'll just focus on the 125 so it feels more achievable.  ah the holidays.....I think my holiday plan is to maybe do a liitle more cardio on those days that I expect to be eating more.  I really don't want to feel guilty for eating on special occasions, especially when everything is SO yummy,  so everything in moderation.
I did something that frightened me today.  But, it's good to face your fears, right?

I took a picture of myself in my sports bra and running shorts and posted it to my profile.  It's hard to look at yourself so scantily clad in a picture.  The picture certainly doesn't lie!

My goal was to post the picture at 128 lbs, to see if there is a big difference at 125 lbs, or eh-hem....a 120 lbs (hopefully someday).  After seeing my 128 lb picture, I'm definitely changing my long term goal from 125 to 120.  I don't think the love handles will go away with three more pounds--it could take eight.

I feel quite vulnerable, but hopefully I will keep looking at it and it will keep me away from the Halloween candy!
My goodness it's so nice to see someone striving for the same goals as me.  I get so frustrated! I'm at 128-129 right now and I definitely want to be at the 120 mark.  So if you would like a friend to battle it out with you I'm totally there to share stories and tips.  Good luck Gretamarie! Mindy-I can use all the friends/support in this battle I can get :)  I think it's extra hard in our situation because it's these last pounds that are the hardest to lose (and take the longest!), and most people in our lives don't understand and tell us we don't need to lose any weight.
i'm in...i'm 5'5, small framed and 133lbs...never managed to get below 128lbs...but i'm gonna give it another go this time...i wear a size 6-tight size 4 now, and i wana get to size 4, that's my main goal right now, i want to drop atleast another 7-8lbs. i won't stop until i get my belly down to 27" (thats 2" away! so close and yet so far!!)!

Let the fluctuation begin!  Today's weight:  129.0 lbs  +1 from last week's 2.2 loss.  I knew it was too good to be true.

Nothing exciting to report.  Still 129.0.  At this rate, I will not make my 125 lb goal by Jan 1.  I need to figure out a way to jump start things...including my motivation.

Where is everyone?  Tanya--we haven't seen you since 10/25 and hbbroadbent we haven't seen you since 10/10.  Would love to hear from you!

this forum was so inactive before i thought maybe no one was posting so i hadn't checked for awhile, so glad there's people here talking to each other!

I was stuck at a plateau for all of Oct, but the scale's finally moving again. though my goal date is looking more like the end of Jan now instead of Christmas :(
