I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

leelee and jen - Congrats on your weight loss and reaching your goals!

This weeks weigh in for me is 130.5.  Last week was 130.6.  I bounced all over the place this week - 127.5, 127, 129 and back up to 130 - grrrrr.  It is TTOM, so I am hoping that by mid-week next week I will be back down.  I will keep my fingers crossed and keep hitting the gym.  Till next week.....

Keep up the positive attitude, Collins ;)! You're doin' great! The t.o.t.m. is always a stressor....so yes, keep up w/ your workout routine! Whoohoo! Kick some butt in the spinning classes, etc. :) You CAN and WILL make your goals! :D

Hey guys!

Jen - Thanks so much for the information about fats.  My husband tends to exaggerate... well.. actually he does it all the time.  So I get freaked about what I'm eating sometimes.

Wow Margo - moving out of the nest!  I'm so jealous that people can live with their families.  My home town is two states away and it kills me.  What I would do to see my family more often.  But that's what happens when you get hitched.

So I'm really excited because I had a kickin work out yesterday and this morning I was in the 128s.  Very excited about that.  You know how every one has something about their body that they don't like.. well I have this genetic thing in my family, on my mothers side going back as far as we can remember, and its a little bit of fat under my chin, my great grandmother looked like a turkey when she got older!  I have always been paranoid about it (even though it's really no big deal) but the other day my husband said, you know, that place you talk about under your chin is a lot smaller than it used to be.  Who knew that 3 1/2 pounds of loss could make my little problem go away :)  AND!! my tummy is getting definition without me flexing.  Super excited about that.

I hope you guys are in the same boat.  It seems this week we have all done wonderful things, work outs people meeting their goals, eating right, and most of all not getting discouraged.  I absolutely love reading each one of your entries, you keep me going more than you realize.  Keep up the awesome work!!!

Well, Simi..., :D

I am planning...on moving out this spring...but it's not happened just yet. :/ I would understand how you'd feel about wanting to see family more...if you were away from them a lot and are close. :D

I am very close to my family too....but not being married (though have a lng term boyfriend) AND being 28 (gulp) after having to move back in w/ parent(s) is not easy....so I need that independance to start my own life going again.  :D

Anyway, SO great to hear of your progress! :D Keep it up! It is inspiring to me and a good feeling to know too that a group like this is so helpful....b/c it is for me too! :D

Have a great day!

-Margo

Woo to the Hoo! 126.0 today. fluke? i don't know, but i'll take it. I finished my period yesterday, so maybe I've just lost the phantom weight.

I want to thank greta for saying i would see goal by my birthday, i have to say i really wasn't believe it the way things were going, and that was nice to hear. and now i believe it too!

i started doing the 5-factor diet workout routine yesterday (cribbed from internet advertisement, don't have book). really loving it. i'm used to circuits of supersets for weights, this utilizes that, but breaks down muscle goups by day  (jen, you got me thinking of doing that!), and really shortens my workout. that's exactly what i want right now, b/c i've been so laxidasical about weights, that is now how one gets results! it's about consistency, and i can be consistent with this until i get back into the weights discipline groove.

so in case you're wondering- 5 min warmup @ 65-85% max HR. supersets of 2 (i know, only two?!) exercises for 10 min w/ varying reps/sets/rest periods each week, 5 min Core exercises (don't have the 5-factor ones, but i know the drill), 5 more minutes cardio minimum, obviously do more.  example exercises: stiff-legged deadlifts/ 1-armed DB row; DB benchpress/ walking lunges; Chest fly/ Tap Squat

i wish us all strength this weekend, the drinking/ eating trap that it is, but still hope we enjoy ourselves!

hbroadbent-- yay! for the new low. :)

I like the sound of your workout, nice choice of compound lifts.  Deads are a favorite of mine (after I am done with them that is, during them I hate them with a vengeance).  And I agree with you that it is so important to change up your routines. After all if you are bored and do not give a workout your full effort then what is the point?  Way to keep your body and mind stimulated by trying new things.

simignone --  i laughed about your "waddle" comments.  And that is very exciting about your emerging six pack.  i would have to say my least favorite body part would have to be my butt or should I say badunkadunk?  Seriously the women (on my dads side) in my family are endowed with same rather large hindquarters, which I have taken after.  So my eternal struggle is to keep my booty under control.

Well it is official Friday, which is my cheat day.  So i have spent all morning contemplating what my cheat should be.  Oh the quandary!  It is so silly but when I know I only get one a week I have a hard time deciding (you'd think it was my last meal or something).  And because I did not do a cheat last week, I seem to be thinking about it more this week than usual.  I am thinking a snickers bar… but am open to suggestions...
Jen - how about three snicker's bars?
Ha!  I like it.

Hello all! Well, I'm back and I have a lot of catching up to do to get to where I was pre-honeymoon - both weight and workout wise!  Actually, the damage wasn't too bad, and I weighed in at 132.2 this AM.  But I still want to get down to 125 eventually, so will need to get back on track.  I think I need to switch up my workout routine b/c I'm getting fairly bored with mine.  I think I'll check the suggested workouts on this site, but if any of you have links to other great workout routine suggestions, feel free to pass them my way.

Being abroad was wonderful, and Europe was freezing.  But it also has made me appreciate my own home here in Hawaii - where everything is familiar, the weather is warm, and people speak English!  lol.  The food wasn't all that great in Europe (healthwise) lotsa beer, meat and bread, but I was enjoying myself.  Germany has the best beer I've ever tasted!  I love the Weiss beer the best.  (the white beer that is a bit sweeter than normal -- think Bluemoon).  Ok well, back to work, getting busy since I've been out. Back to the gym too!  Aloha!

Welcome back, sounds like you had fun.  Congrats on the minimal damage.  Be sure to tell us what workout you end up choosing.  I alwasy like to hear what others are doing.
Happy Aloha Friday everyone!  Checking in at 129.7 this morning!  YAHOO! Although I think I probably blew it with my delicious whopper/onion ring lunch today.  Ah well....finishing the day with tons and tons of water and will try to be extra good this evening, even though we'll be going to a 30th bday party for dinner.  UGH....wish me luck.  I'll probably go over my cals with just beer.  Oh well....tomorrow is another day right?

brianne - welcome back!  Sounds like you had a great time.  Where all did you go in Europe?

burnyh/heather - congrats on the low numbers on the scale - you are that much closer to your goals.

I had a good week with my workouts - scale says I am back down to 127 - said the same thing last week before Aunt Flo came for a visit, so I am hoping this number is real - I will watch scale and she if it is not just a fluke.

I've been eating protein and liking it and I have seen 128 for three days in a row :)

Today it's going to be in the 70's so I am wearing a skirt, for the first time in a long time, and being proud of my semi defined legs :)  Much more defined than I've ever been before.  I'm finally seeing results!

Welcome Back Brianne!  I'm so jealous that you got to go to Europe.  Even more jealous that you get to go back to Hawaii afterwards!  Lucky you!  Glad to hear that there wasn't that much damage to control after wards too :)

burnyh - I think a whopper sounds good right about now.. too bad it's not the weekend where I'm a cheater.  An orange will have to suffice for right now. :)

collinsJ (Jen I thin, right?) - we went to Munich Germany and Prague Czech Republic. It was beautiful, but very cold (for my standards). It got up to about freezing during the day!  So I was all decked out in 4 layers (both top and bottom) plus a beenie plus a scarf and sometimes two gloves!  (Us Hawaii people cannot handle the cold).  I did have a great time in Europe, but it has made me really appreciate the paradise we call home.  =)

So, still at 132.3 this AM. Not bad considering I typically gain .5-1 # over the weekend.  I will finally start calorie counting today so that I can get a move on to make it to my goal of 125#.  Haven't decided what type of work out I'll do to switch it up. I realized that with my 2 weeks off from weight lifting, just doing my now typical weight lifting routing is a new work out for my muscles.  I did TKB this past saturday and really felt it in my shoulders and arms yesterday morning.  I love that feeling!  Happy Monday! (is that an oxymoron or what??)

Hello 130/120 club.

Glad to see the new lows.  Congrats Burnyh it is very exciting that you entered the 120s.  And glad to see you have lost that water weight, Collins, and congrats on being back down and staying strong.

Simi-  glad you are enjoying the protein, have fun in that skirt. :)  I am ready to start wearing some summer clothes but alas! it is raining here in Oregon (surprise, surprise).  Last week was pretty decent in the 50s and semi-sunny.  But I had to bust out the rain pants for my bicycle commute in this morning :(  And then it hailed on me while I was riding int o work, which kinda sucked.  So I will second the jealously felt to Brianne living in warm sunny Hawaii.
had to share my new favorite butt workout

http://www.revver.com/video/689185/inner-thig h-exercises-the-plie-squat/

Very sore this morning from doing this on Saturday

Jen - thanks for sharing the butt workout!!!  I am doing legs today in the gym and will try it out.  =)

Yes, Hawaii is beautiful, warm and sunny. In fact, I have sunburn from going to the beach all day yesterday. (p.s. Burnyh is in Hawaii too).

Brianne - yes, it's Jen or Jennifer, just not Jenny :)  Sounds like a great trip, but a little too cold for me too.  I am very jealous that you live in HI.  I used to live in Vegas and miss the heat!

Jen - my weight has been yoyoing like crazy for the past two weeks between 130.5 and 127.  I haven't changed my eating habits.  I am working out a teensy more than normal, but I don't understand why I am bouncing all over the place.  I get so excited to see that 127, but discouraged to see the 130 or higher a day or two later.  What gives?  Any ideas or suggestions?

Drinking lots of water, 4 or more liters a day seems to keep me more level.  Though I often bounce 1# or so.  (So does my husband and mother in law)  But being really hydrated seems to really help.  Then most of the time I can account for fluxuations in my salt or carb intake but then again, sometimes, who knows? why?  I would not worry about it, though, stay hydrated and watch the trend line not the daily fluxuations.

I know your pain, though.  It is so exciting to see a new low, then the next day it goes back up and it is so sad.  Just the way it is I guess, though.  If you wanna be militant, write down your salt and carb intake and you may spot a trend over a week or two (often why many are up in weight on Mondays).

sorry, not much help.

BTW  I added a new back progress photo

Nice pictures Jen!  That was the first thing I saw this morning on CC, I was like.. Jen changed her picture.. and it's really dark.  But when I saw the larger version... wow, you look great!  I bet you are so happy with yourself!

Big news for me, I got a new job this weekend!  Only, yesterday I had to give my current boss (a psychiatrist) my verbal two week notice (he is only in the office Thurs and Fri.  I got yelled at for a while told that I was ungrateful and ungracious and then he hung up on me.  But I wanted to share because I'm so excited to be out of his office and his rude rude attitude.  Plus the job that I got is working at a piano store.  If any of you knew, I am a pianist and have spent my whole life playing piano, including going to boarding school for it and college for it.  So I am super excited!  Maybe now I will work with normal people, who knows what sort of effect that could have on my body too!  I am ready to be happy.

I'm excited about weighing in tomorrow morning although it's hard not to try to eat as little as possible today to make Wednesday's mean that much more.. oh well, I make up for it on the weekend!

Collins - I would have to agree with Jen on this one.  My weight doesn't bounce around at all it seems... but I do drink water like a fish.  I always ALWAYS have a water bottle around.  Plus I have to pee every 30 or 40 minutes sometimes :)  I don't know if that is why my weight is steady but it sounds like what Jen was saying.  Plus when I cut out a lot of sodium out of my diet I started to see a real change in weight.  It was much steadier.

Strawberries were on sale at Publix on Sunday.  I love strawberries!
