130/120 Club?
If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?
Thank you :)
I'll chime in on the multivitamin issue too... I, as well, am quite forgetful when it comes to taking my multi. I take the GNC brand for Woman (with iron, I have issues with my iron). Now I don't know if it's a great multi or not because it's kind of hard to tell but I think it does alright.
What I try to do is take it at night before bed allowing my body time to absorb what is needed overnight (and not peeing it out like I might do if I took it in the morning). Anyone else do that??
I have a hard time with the idea of taking a muli if I can't tell the difference.. is there anything out there that really helps? I mean, I've tried it in the past and I couldn't really tell.
Heather, it sounds like you have some good ideas, what's with the cinnamon?! Where do you get crazy knowledge like this?! P.S. your painting of the duck had me in smiles, as well as Bob the Builder, how talented you are!
My little interjection.....I too have heard of cinnamon's healthy affects in health mags. like Women's Health Magazine. You never know...
Direct link to general info. page about cinnamon....

This is the direct link I know I've seen more recently about cinnamon from the site, (it's the first article the above link mentions too)...

:D
Btw, the multi-vitamin I take is the Rite Aid brand of 'One a Day Women's'. I think I should just use the bottle I have and then after that stop buying the extra vitamins...I mean, unless it's something my doctor tells me I need....I won't 'waste' the extra $ on it...
Anyhow......;D

The reason why I take zinc and A is to help my skin. After I stopped taking BC pills I started getting pimples and the supplements have helped my skin a lot. Zinc in general reduces inflammation, so it's probably good for sore muscles. I've been taking zinc for many years now, and I haven't had a cold or flu in nearly 7 years. I know that stuff Zicam which they say is "clinically proven to shorten the duration of colds" is just zinc. I think that might be why I never get sick. My husband is too lazy to take supplements, but when he gets a cold he takes the zinc and is usually better within 2 days.
I fogot to say I also have 1 tsp cinnamon a day b/c diabetes runs in my family. And I drink at least i cup of green tea a day. I may have to try that gunpowder tea now, though. Where do you get it broadbent???
Thanks for the answers kathleen, maybe I should up my zinc. Since I started working at a hospital I seem to be perpetual sick, though I am doing better since I started riding my bike instead of taking mass transit with all the sickies.
BTW Zicam has been implicated in some people developing anosmia (loss of smell)

helionix -- if you want to balance, you need to lift heavy weights and eat protein (I am also bottom heavy) and never made any imrovements by just dieting. Sometimes I think your body is really unwilling to get below a certain # on the scale and at that point you need to focus on changing your body composition to reach an ideal body type. When I first joined the gyme, I ask everyone for $ for my b-day and used it for the initiation fee. I also suspect you are eating too little at your age. Good to see you have a "cheat day" though and a snack. What are your ratio of protein/carbs/fat a day?? b/c this can make a big difference (40/40/20 is best IMO).
Now that I think about it, I don't think I get enough protein or carbs. Thanks for the advice!
Yeah, I saw something on the news about that! I was kind of worried, but then I saw that it was when taking it intranasaly (the sprays), and I just swallow a pill. So I think I'm in the clear. ![]()
LW- 146
This week: 147.6
Although I did have a little extra sweets (passionfruit cheesecake, yum) over the holiday weekend, I don't think I went that overboard. Plus, since Sunday, I think I've been pretty good with what I've been eating and how much. I don't know what to say really, the scale keeps going up. I guess I'll try to tackle the gym more often since I only went once this week :-(
Hopefully, everyone has done better...
So as I said earlier, my weight's been going up and down, today was an up day at 127. Disappointing, but as long as I keep eating right and exercising I'll be fine. Plus, last week I lost 3 lbs, so I didn't think I would lose a lot this week anyway. I'm more interested in slow manageable weight loss then fast yo yo dieting.
jen- i get my green tea from matchasource.com. but if you have a whole foods they may carry it. http://www.matchasource.com/Matcha-Tea-Suisen -p/matchasui100.htm here's the kind i get, ingredient grade, same health benefits but stronger flavor/ less delicate leaves, i.e. cheaper ;) it comes in a nonresealable bag; you can either buy a canister or just put it in tupperware then in the fridge.
i'm in a standoff again with darn holiday candy! i can't throw it away b/c it's really nick's. that sounds really lame when i type it. if it's "really nick's" then why was i eating it yesterday? mini hershey bars (mmm mr. goodbar...) & almond kisses!
i have a project at work i'm dreading today, and i should probably just get it over with :(
happy wednesday y'all! oh right, we weigh in. 126.4 today. meh.
Ok Ladies..
Starting week: 132 Jan.
Last Week: 129
This Week: 129.5
It's my TOTM, maybe by next week we'll see 127 again.
Start , Jan. 22 2008: 141 lbs.
Last Week, March 19: 135.6 lbs.
Today, March 26: 136 lbs.
Also, I weighed in this Monday, for my BL Challenge, and was 136.6, so I'm down a bit apparently, which is good. However, since last week, I'm up by almost a 1/2 lb. :/
Yeah, Easter Sunday/weekend I didn't eat all that healthy. Last day at the gym was Monday and I won't be able to go tonight...so will have to double up tomorrow (strength training + Pilates classes).
So....just do your best to shrug off the indulgences ladies...and move ahead...you're still doing great! :D

Last week: 134.4#
This week: 135.2# as of this morning.
Though I saw the 132s briefly this weekend. But last night I was bad. My brother-in-law works at a very nice restaurant and keeps harassing us to come and have a Widmer 08 (a very good local microbrew), a steak and some cheesecake with him. I kept telling him I would but it would have to be after my cut b/c I can not afford the calories right now. But he is leaving for Honduras today and will be gone for 4-6 months. So we had to have a going away bash and take advantage of his 20% discount while he still had it. So bad news for the scale today… And only more to come because this weekend I am going to the beach for my birthday and part of the tradition is smores and hotdogs cooked over a bonfire. I will be hitting it hard April 1 when I get back, though.
I actually think all this bad may actually be good for my diet. I have been dieting 12 weeks or so and the weight loss is slowing. And I am afraid I am underestimating my calories burned biking to and from work and therefore may be over-restricting my calories. I do not feel tired but I was hungry last week. So hopefully this week should give my metabolism a little jump start, so it will be super-responsive the last 10 weeks. (Can you say "justification?")
Goal weight: Hmmm, can I set a bodyfat% goal instead?? The last 4 weeks I haven't lost much ## wise but my body looks different. I got my four-pack back. Now to find those lower abs...
I have to weight myself on Thursdays no, but I will get it in!! I really want to be a part of this group b/c I need to be held accountable!!
Hi dmartineau1- Weigh in when you can of course. :D This group is really great....not going to beat up on you for not weighin in on Wed. if you can only do so on Thurs. :D Positive group here..:D
Have a great day! :D

It's good to see I'm not the only one who had an off week!
So far so good and 13 more pounds to go. I tried on my graduation dress this morning and I was able to zip it up with no problems! That made my day. Maybe in 2 weeks my belly wont be SO visible.
keep up the good work ladies!!!
Hi everyone, I used to be apart of this group last year, but then life happened and I kind of got away from CC. I've been around 135 for the past year, +- a few. I think that's my even point that I always just stay around when I'm not working out and watching what I eat. I go through this running routine about twice a year where I start running, get the endurance up to about 5 miles, drop 10 lbs and then stop running, then I start all over again. I think my problem is I'm either all or none.. I'll run everyday of the week then get burnt out and stop. So, I'm taking a different approach this time and aiming for M, W, F mornings and maybe Sat. I started about 2 weeks ago and I'm run/walking 3 miles, goal to run the full 3 miles straight and I guess I'll set that goal for May 1st. So basically I have a set of clothes for when I'm running and for when I'm not. :) I've always ate pretty healthy so as long as I exercise I don't have to monitor it too closely.. however I do have a sweet tooth and have been known to eat an entire bag of jelly beans or hot tamales for lunch.. I'm working on that though.. as I get older I know it's not going to be as forgiving, I can already tell. So, sorry about the all over the place post, but I'm excited to join your group, you all seem so supportive and kind.
Some info. I'm 28, 5'4" and as of this morning I'm 135 on the dot.
Side note.. a little of my motivation is I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in July. here's the dress http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_bycol or_detail.jsp?stid=3327&sid=18713&cfi d=22 very cute, but it might help since the model is in great shape, so I'm aiming for tone arms like hers. Once I get the dress I'll take some pictures in it and then again in July.
