These last few days I haven't actually been eating the best....but the scale seemed to show different yesterday when I weighed in.....
We'll see what happens for tomorrow when I weigh in for our group....
As for your realizing you aren't invicible.....yeah, I hear ya. I think since I've been seeing the scale go down over these past weeks, I too am slacking some.
Though I agree 'no squishy wanted' esp. on your trip to Vegas....so (haha) 'balls to the wall' sounds like you're ready for some upcoming hardcore workouts....hehe...good luck! :D

As I mentioned, I weigh in on Mondays for myself b/c of the challenge I'm doing...but I make a point to weigh in here on Wed. too b/c these ladies help keep me going and the 2nd weigh in (though only a day or two apart) still reminds me that I can't or shouldn't slack off as I do.
The weekends are really my worst time....though I'm working at it.....

Not a huge gain, but still a gain. The weekend was not so great in terms of eating... bad day at work on Friday = 5 Rice Krispy squares lol and the rest of the weekend was pretty bad too. So far, this week I've been straightening things out so hopefully next week's weigh-in will be better. I need some more self- discipline!
Margo, great job! Hopefully I'll eventually be down to that weight again too. It's great motivation.

not bad for how awful I ate this weekend! On monday i was supposedly 133.5, then 132.5 tuesday, now 131. I workout hard on the weekdays and eat better (which makes me go to the bathroom more often) so I think this could be the combo that explains the fluctuation. I know you all prbably dont want to knwo about my bowel movements, but i'm just wondering if being backed up could put 2+ on the scale? I don't have a BM all weekend if that helps...sorry for being so descriptive![]()

Today: 134 (although, I've been hovering at 133 for the last 3 days--I wasn't so clean with my eating yesterday)
I know I shouldn't focus on the number, but I would love love love to be below 130 by the time I'm settled into my new place and summer school starts (May 15).
I thought my diet could use a little switch-up, so I've started eating lots of egg whites, beans, veggies, yogurt, nuts, fish, and soy. I've been eating less fruit (maybe only an apple a day or a couple servings of cantaloupe) and almost no other starchy carbs. Is this ok? I think it's kickstarted me and I know this is weird, but my face already looks thinner. I don't want to go overboard though. Does anyone else eat really clean for a week or a few weeks, and then slowly add back in whole grains and fruits? And does it help? By "help" I mean do you notice a difference in the way you feel, look, workout, etc..
margo - yay for unjustified weight loss! I think my lucky loss time is officially over, and I'm going to have to start working for it now...
danielle - I'm sure the combination of water weight from eating poorly + constipation is plenty to explain the 2 lb gain. congrats on getting it right back off again!
leelee - good for you for eating that clean! I don't....so I guess I'm not the right person to answer your question.
Well, folks, I bought a scale yesterday. I was sick of weighing myself in front of so many people. They put the scale in the middle of the stretching area in my gym, and just being there makes me feel like a semi-anorexic freshman again. Ugh. So I went out and bought a cheap digital scale. I weighed myself when I got home, and it said 134.5, which is believable since I usually weigh about 135 during the day at the gym (except for earlier this week, when it said 139...I hate that gym scale....it was playing with my head). From now on, I want to weigh once a day, first thing in the morning, naked.
And that's what I did this morning. 132. About what I expected. I'm pleased, and motivated. ![]()

I did it!! I made my mini goal. Now for my next goal, my weight seems to drop very very slowly (I don't blame it, I like being lazy myself!) Next week is to have it at 128 again. I start my TOTM on Friday and I'm A) super excited that bloating didn't cause my weight to go up to 129 again this week, the week before and B) next week it will be the same way because of my TOTM and by staying at 128 that will insure that the next weeks weigh in should be around 127. Does anyone else get my logic?
Wonders - Way to go weighing naked in the morning, that is exactly what I do, well I go to the bath room first, every bit counts! There is no truer way to weight in.
LeeLee - This sounds like a question for Jen, I hope she reads it and can reply. I would also like to know the outcome!
Margo - You are so funny, I'm glad that this break has been so beneficial for you!
Danielle - Girl you can't gross us out! I'm the same way, during the week I have a BM between 10 and 11 in the morning, like clockwork and on the weekends when I don't eat very well I don't have them hardly at all. I remember when I was not eating healthily at all I would go days with out having them and I thought that was normal. Now I know what is good and normal!
I have a quick question. Are there certain foods/vitamins that I could eat/take to help clear up my skin or should I just go to the doctor for that. I currently use Proactiv and it just isn't doing the job, I mean, it helped but now.. I'm still breaking out, I'm also on the pill which has helped some, but I still have a few breakouts each month and because my skin is so pale I get these embarassing red dots that stick around for several months, almost like a scar.

I just don't understand, I've been working out almost every day and counting my calories. Usually when I start working out I'll drop a few lbs right away. I've never counted calories and worked out at the same time, I'm wondering if I'm not eating enough? too much? I try to get around 1400-1500/day. oh well, I feel better at least and hopefully it will drop soon. my goal last week was 134, so I guess that will be my goal again this week.
on the plus side it's 72 degrees today!! that puts me in the best mood!

Anyway, enough about me... to answer your question, I find that when I up my intake of omega 3 (usually in flax and fish), my red marks seem to look less noticeable... I think something about reducing inflammation or helping regulate hormones. Plus keeping my skin moisturized helps... oh and exfoliation twice a week too lol.

[warning: the following is me rambling. I won't be insulted if you don't read it] Actually think I'm hovering between 123.5 and 123 because my scale couldn't make up its mind this morning. Well actually, I'm so confused this morning that I'm not mentally able to get down about this apparent gain. I have 2 scales that I've been weighing myself on every day (for fun lol). The scale that I record says 123 (2/3 times) and the other said I was at 122.6, which is what it said yesterday. And they both read 121.5 on Monday. I doubt I gained 2 pounds of fat on a deficit, but I haven't really been working out either. I had some weird TOTM thing happen because of Plan B, which made my period come last week despite having already visited me 2 weeks earlier. I think I'll just blame it all on that and call this week a fluke.
Congrats to all who lost, and to those who didn't (like me lol) I agree with Margo on staying positive. Glasperpu, it sounds to me like you're doing everything right. Keep at it and enjoy the weather. I know it's frustrating though. Have you tried zig-zagging? Good luck, I'm sure you'll beat 135 soon.

Glaserpu - Though you seem to be at a plateau stage, that is better than gaining, right? :D Hmmm....maybe your body is just taking time to adjust to how you are working out every day and depending on what you eat. From all that I hear/read about weight loss and from this forum...it's usually about balancing the types of foods and how much you eat of them and that all depends on your workouts as well. All in all, I say, just keep on keeping track of your food/drink intake and with the exercise....I'm sure it's just an adjustment you're going through. Try not to get discouraged....you seem to be doing the right thing..keep it up! :D It just might take a little more time....:D

thank you so much for the support, I know I will eventually lose. it's just frustrating that when I wasn't watching what I ate and not exercising I was 135, so it seems like I'm doing all this and nothing is happening. In the past as soon as I started running the lbs would drop, I guess that's a sign of getting older :( lol. Margo- I think you are right about the balancing, I don't get a lot of protein, so that might be it. I'm also doing weights at the gym, which I hardly ever used to do, so maybe it's muscle (fingers crossed) oh well, I have until July 12th to look good in my bridesmaid dress. which by the way I said I would post pictures of, however since the dress is so popular, there's a 12 week order so I won't get it until the end of June.
simi- I also have pale skin and I don't get zits often but when I do they stand out like a sore thumb. Anyway, I take Hair, Skin & Nails vitamins from Nature's Bounty I get them at CVS (pink box). I notice a difference when I take them. I'm also really bad about washing my make-up off at night, I was lucky in the past, but I think I really need to start doing it every night.
edit: It's also TTOM, so maybe that's it!! ha. I'm trying to think of anything.

CW-132.4...still not the 129 I saw a few weeks or so ago....but it was entirely my fault...too much junk food....I am totally holding myself accountable. AND it TOTM week, so hopefully next weigh in I'll see the 129 again??? Do we really burn more calories at TOTM? If so then by working out and fighting (and winning) the TOTM cravings should give a great week of deficit huh?
I bought the FIRM Cardio Sculpt video the other day. It was only $2 so I had to try it. It's really pretty good....for those of us that need help from "someone" to get motivated. The cardio part isn't very strenuous, but I like that it incorporates cardio with weights. My other video from Turbo Jam (body sculpting) seems like it's all weights, and I feel like I'm missing out on cardio. Ah well...in any case, I like the firm...it works a bit more of the back than Turbo Jam. Hopefully this change in my routine will help break me out of this never ending plateau.

Not much improvement (and certainly not improved by chinese for dinner... but I was so proud of myself- I only ate half, and took the other half home! I haven't done that since high school). But I am feeling encouraged, the workouts at the gym have been going really well lately. I even feel energized to do more after (my bf suggested that I should be upping my intensity then. Touche)...
So, all in all? I'm satisfied...

my weigh-ins for the past few days have been good, hovering around 125, so i didn't do bad damage on vaca, though i definitely need to get back to the gym, can feel the firmness slipping!

Had a pretty good, not indulging weekend. First time I've been good on the weekend in a VERY long time. The scale is rewarding me by going down just a hair everyday. Which probably means water weight, but hey I'll take it. Very short term goal, hit 129 by Friday.....Ted's bday and my 1 yr anniversary mark. It's not the 125 I had hoped for one year ago, but 129/130 is not too shabby. I'll take the 20lb loss. I am so happy I finally set my mind to losing weight, and actually did it this time. I tell all my friends and family (when they ask how I lost all that weight), "diet and exercise....who knew?!?" It's feels so good to be healthy, to actually like looking in the mirror and like who I'm seeing, and to see myself in pictures and think to myself "is that really me? WOW!" So happy Monday everyone! Congrats for all your hard work and dedication!
