Thank you :)
Re: Smaller portions of even the healthy food
It's interesting b/c the last couple weeks when I've been very busy and didn't have my whole brigade of food- breakfast, 10pm Snack, Lunch, 3pm Snack, After Gym Snack, Dinner- instead I had bits here and there I managed to grab- a breakfast of fruit and coffee, a lunch salad and/or tuna- i felt lighter and had more energy. Anyone else feel that way? It sounds like maybe you did too simignonne. (Of course I'm not talking about over-restricting oneself though) Now this didn't result in me losing, I more than made up for it on weekend occasions, but I felt different in a good way.
Happy Wednesday Ladies!!

Hopefully this trend conintues! I have been working out consistently except for missing one day this weekend. Sadly, I need to take a break from runnign because I am feeling the shin splints come on. I have flat feet so i get them really easy! I tried swimming at my gym instead, but they were doing some kind of repair, so I'll have to stick to the eliptical and bike for cardio for a little while.
Good luck everyone!
Well, I'm still at 125 but my stomache is getting smaller still. I guess I maybe gaining muscle now. Not a bad thing. It's the weights I've been working out with for the first time in my life. anyways,

Congrats Angela and Danielle at your weigh in this week! Great job! :D
I didn't weigh in last week b/c I hurt my lower back...err...was recovering.
I was getting on track and then I stinkin' hurt myself and haven't been to the gym since then....which has just been over a week now.
I'm not 100% yet, but getting there. If I feel okay by the weekend, I hope to slowly get back to gettin' healthy..no pun intended.
So, anyway, I lost my weekly BL challenge weigh in this week (we weigh in on Sundays)...so yep, that $20 in the pot now...all from me. Damn! hehe.
Well, I weighed in for our forum weigh in this a.m. and scale said: 133.6 lbs.
On Sunday I was 134.8 lbs.
So...guess that's good.
Though I'm also having a tough time w/ my t.o.t.m. ...so everything is just a mess right now with me! haha.
ANYWAY!
Keep up the good work ladies! It's soo great to hear the results are really showing for you! :D
Take care and ttyl.

yay these past few weeks have been great! i did a duathlon this weekend (run - bike - run: my first event like this ever!) and although the heat nearly killed me, i finished. i am so proud of myself! I haven't done any competitive sports since undergrad....
but here's some good news:

which means i've lost 8 lbs in the month of august and i can't believe it! i was stuck around 146 for months, went all the way up to 150 (ugh) and am finally seeing results which is such an incredible motivator, as you all know. i am so relieved the scale is finally dropping......

I've been pretty happy at the fact that while my weight has gone up and down this past week, my high weight has been 130 instead of 132/133. I think that's progress! I have the Disneyland half marathon to run this Sunday (!) and then I'll be taking three weeks off of running per my physical therapist to hopefully get rid of the knee problems that I've been having. Any interesting workout suggestions that don't involve running?
I hope you all have a great Wednesday!
Hi guys!

I've been eating bad the past few days and not drinking a whole lot of water, so I'm not surprised at the small gain. I also have been slacking on the workouts. My dh has been off of work, so we've been galavanting. He goes back tomorrow, so I'll start up again then. Looks like everyone is doing well!
Ok, so I know that I missed weigh in last week but I do have some good news. (I actually forgot to weigh myself and then I realized it after I ate breakfast.. no good) But when I weighed myself Thurs or Fri I was one pound lighter :)
I was 131.5 instead of 132.5! Take that smaller portions! I have to admit that like burnyh, I haven't been exercising as much as I should, or at all really. Now that school has started back (I teach) things have gotten crazy. My Mon and Tues are so long that when I get home Wed I just want to crash! How do you girls do it? Should I wake up extra early? Should I just hit the gym anyway at like 7pm?
Hey there ladies!
Keep up the great work!
Simi - My lil' opinion, I completely understand how busy schedules can make you feel exhausted/tired and you may not want to workout...but if you want to stick to your workout routine more often than not, then yes, workout at 7pm ~ whether at your gym or where you live(in your room/living room, etc.)
I have done that before, gone to the gym at 7pm....went on the treadmill for about 30-35mins. that night and it wasn't too bad. There weren't as many ppl. at the gym then so I felt less stressed, cuz it was more quiet, etc.
So, good luck! Have a great workout whenever you can fit it in! :D
I plan on headin' to the gym right after work (5pm) tonight...I wasn't going to either..but my b/f was my 'motivator' and told me that I certainly had time to do a workout. :D I was just plannin' on coming home n' doing some laundry, etc. but my b/f reminded me that laundry wouldn't interfere with still getting in a workout tonight.....sooo...that's what I'll do.
*hugs* to everyone! Hope you all have a great week! Btw, my BL challenge weigh in this Sunday went well....*Thanks Ingrid for your support about t.o.t.m...I felt better after my weigh in Sunday cuz my t.o.t.m. was over and it showed on the scale....
Sunday: 130.6 lbs.! (Yeah, a bunch of that was water weight, cuz the previous Sunday I think I was 134.8 lbs., but hey, I'll take it! :D)
So, see you ladies here tomorrow for Wed. weigh in. Not sure how I did...cuz I had a lot of food on Sunday from a family Labor Day get together...but will be here to post my results no matter what! :D
Ttyl.
-Margo
hey girls... glad you all made it through labor day gorge weekend! i can't remember the last time i ate so much food so many days in a row! and then i made chocolate chip oatmeal cookies last night... oopsie! i think i'll make the bf take some to the office so we eat less.
so simi - i think that right now as you schedule has changed is the most important time to maintain a regular workout schedule, or else you might start skipping too much, and the erratic workouts will leave you more exhausted. i'd recommend waking up early and hitting the gym - getting out of bed is hard but you don't really "wake" up til halfway through your workout and then you're really !AWAKE! for the rest of the day, and you'll get a great night's sleep. just remember to refuel plenty mid morning so you don't crash...
and def go the the gym tonight smiles, its great that you have such a rational motivator to get your bootay in gear! especially when we are so good at convincing ourselves why we "can't" go! haha i know how that goes...
how was the 1/2 marathon iroth?
see you all tomorrow for the weigh-in. i'm a bit nervous cause i ate so much this weekend AND it s ttom...
Litza...
Thanks for the comment...yes, my bf is certainly more rational than I am most of the time. hehe.
Try to stay positive....t.o.t.m., as Ingrid mentioned can be discouraging/a downer, and I'm sure we all had some indulging this past weekend, but try not to let it get ya down too much...we look fwd. to seeing you at Weigh in tomorrow! :D Just remember that whatever scale says for tomorrow....that you can do something this week to make things less for next week....keep up with workouts, workout a little extra, etc.
Have a great day!
Ttyl.
-Margo.............................=)
I'm a little worried about the next few weeks with school and work and taking a few weeks off of running. I also know that TTOM will be hitting this weekend and I'm afraid of not caring and not exercising and gaining weight. I know it's good to change up my exercise routine, but I don't like it! :-P
It's good to see people around here again. See you all tomorrow for the weigh in!
Congrats, Ingrid!!!! Awesome!
Great photos too!
We know you CAN and WILL succeed with your challenges that you have coming up, but you can do it !
Try not to let stress, etc. get to you...just one day at a time! ![]()
Keep photos of your 1/2 marathon pics. on your frig or on your cell phone..etc. - places you're likely to see often, to help remind yourself of all that you accomplished so far and to help motivate you and keep you on track when you have those 'downer' days.....
*hugs!*
Again, congrats!
-Margo
Well, Still stuck at 125....for the third week! I guess I'm done loosing or it maybe my birthcontrol...or I'm just stuck. Hopefully I won't be here too much longer....still working out and trying to eat well.

Happy Wednesday! ![]()
My results for our Weigh In here...
LW: 134.6 lbs.
CW: 132.8 lbs.
Compared to last week, I lost just under 2 lbs., which is good.
However, compared to my weigh in for my BL challenge, which are on Sundays, it's not so good, cuz I would've gained just over 2 lbs!! I know it's really more comparable from Sun.-Sun. and Wed.-Wed....than from Sunday to Wednesday. haha.
Well, I put a new entry on my page of a sort of rundown of my workouts lately....it's exciting to finally get back into the swing of things! I hope I keep it up!
Well, ladies, have a fantastic day! Hope to hear fm. you all later....
*hugs!* (Pardon my hyper mood, just excited now...)

have a great rest of the week ladies!

Hi ladies! I didn't weigh in last week because I spent all of Wednesday driving to my new university (where I know absolutely no one!). The move and the aftermath (feeling like a college freshman all over again) plus the paranoia of maybe getting sick again (see earlier post) has me eating....well, pretty badly. And it doesn't help that I'm REQUIRED to eat dinner five nights a week with 12 people in my dorm complex...cooking for 12 on a budget = lots of starches. Ugh. Fortunately the damage hasn't hit (yet). I'm holding at about 127. I feel okay-ish about my weight right now, so I don't think I'm going to do much calorie-counting and instead will try to eat smaller meals like you guys were saying. We'll see how that goes. My goal is 125 for my birthday in October.
Wonderswhy--welcome back!! What were you in Asia for? Hopefully fun, maybe Olympics?
Thanks!! I was traveling in mainland China and attending a seminar in Taiwan. So a little fun and a little torture (the seminar turned out to be waaay over my head). Originally I wanted to be in Beijing for the Olympics, but that was turning into a logistical nightmare. I had to settle for watching it on tv in Taiwan. But hey, at least I could watch the events live during the day that way! ![]()
Happy rest-o-the-week to all!
Hey everyone I feel like I haven't been on in a really long time. Just have been really busy and not feeling to well. Actually I have not been going to the gym like I use to or not really watching what I eat. Anyway I went to the gym yesterday for the the 1st time and when I was there I didn't have to much energy. I weighed myself and am at 128lb couldn't believe that I had put on those pounds. Anyway to make a long story short afterwards I went to get a pregnancy test since I hadn't started yet and have been sooooooooo TIRED lately and yep sure enough it was positive. Can't believe it. So I guess I have somewhat of a reasonable excuse as to why I haven't been to the gym and the weight gain. Was wondering if any of u moms if you worked out while pregnant. With my first one I pretty much just ended my membership @ the gym and rejoin when he was about 3/4 months old. Being my 2nd time around I just want to make sure that I still workout and try to only gain what is necessary, cause I heard that it is harder to lose the weight after your 1st pregnancy. Just curious if u moms had any good workouts or suggestions. I am only around 4 weeks so I think that I can still do most of my workouts that I was doing before perhaps minus the bodypump class? How bout cycling u guys still think that would be okay. Thanks for listening everyone:)
Congrats again!
