Congrats salsa! How excited you must be!  I wish I could give you some advice but I don't have children yet, and that is, like Ingrid, years down the road for us.   I think I won't be alone in saying that I would love to have updates on your pregnancy.. if you aren't too busy. :)

Well, for my update, since I've been REALLY bad about updating on time this summer, yesterday when I weighed myself my scale went from 130 to 130.5 and so on.  I loved to see this.  That means that I've dropped almost 2 pounds in two weeks without exercise.

Which I will be working on!! I promise! I'm just happy to say that changing my diet a bit to eating less stuff has helped more than I thought.  (No I'm not developing a bad habit) I love eating and I fool myself sometimes thinking.. it won't really hurt... eating all this cookie dough, I mean, all I had for lunch was organic.  well.. that's not true :)  So now a-days I'm eating my sandwich, water, cup of coffee, and banana for lunch.  Much better I think.

This morning my husband and I were 'sharing an intimate moment' you get the picture, and he looked at me and said, you know you really have a perfect body. I laughed and said, in your eyes, and he said, no in everyone's eyes.  What more could I ask for in a man.  And after eating healthier, working out (usually) since January I'm starting to believe him.  it was precious.

Tonight I'm getting Sushi with a girlfriend and guess who is going to workout between now and then? This girl right here.  Back to free weight heaven I am going!

Oooh fun :)  I'm 122, give or take 4 lbs for fluctuations (I fluctuate a lot haha).  Woo!

Wow, salsa! Congrats! I bet the ladies over at the Pregnancy/Parenting forum would have lots of advice for you. I've heard of women who ran for exercise all the way up until their EIGHTH month. That sounds excessive to me...a little too high-impact. I guess everyone has to find what feels good to their body....I've also heard of women who belly-danced their way through pregnancy! Tongue out Maybe you'd want to try that...

Anyway, do keep us updated!

BTW - Simi, that's an awesome compliment from your hubby. It's great that you can appreciate your body too, even if you're not exactly the weight you want to be. Oh and on a similar note, one 5'7 chick to another, ie, in all other respects similar.....I'm still jealous of your boobs....

Hey Everyone!  I totally forgot to weigh in this week.  We've just been so busy, plus is TTOM, so if ya'll don't mind, I'll just save my weigh in till next week.  My parents have gone back home.  They left Wednesday.  I'm a sad of course to see them go, but happy that we have privacy again.  Having my parents here makes me feel like I'm 16 all over again.  I was so bad their last week here in the eating department.  my mom cooked all my favorites every night of the week, and of course I had to indulge since I won't be enjoying mom's cooking for at least another 8 months.  Ah well, back to working out and eating sensibly.

Congratulations Salsa!  I myself wasn't in the workout mode during my pregnancies, but my sis in law did ummm...what that workout in the gym with the stationary bikes, and the instructor is on a bike to and yells at everyone to go faster?!?  hehe..anyway, she did that till far into her pregnancy. SPIN CLASSES!!!  That's it!

My goal this month (after TTOM) is to see 124 or 125 on the scale before my weight goes up again.  That should be doable, right?  I'm enjoying not running, but I miss it too!  I'm toying with the idea of running a marathon on February 1, which would mean I'd have to start training at the end of September...  Am I crazy for thinking I can do that while being in school, married, and working?

wow! looks like a lot of really great things are happening here! congrats salsa on the little one to be... awwww! and good luck to everyone heading back to school. my grad program goes year round so i'm actually ending a quarter next week, gulp, finals... 

so i went to sacramento this weekend to sit and watch the bf do a triathlon, which was actually great, cause we stayed with friends and had a nice mini vaca. but in my sitting and watching other people do some serious athletic events, my body must have gotten a little mad at me and my weight when we got home had jumped from 141 to 147 - YIKES!!! but amazingly, 3 days later i'm back down to 142, whew!  i was about to have a mini panic attack though ;) i guess the lesson is... no watching! only doing! have a great week ladies!

burnyh- even though it doesn't fit in with the diet, having the mom make all your favorites sounds great :) i know what you mean though about sometimes feeling/acting like that 16 yr old again when the family's there.

check out my journal for the dress i just got for standing up in my sister's wedding! i shouldn't have tried on other dresses though b/c it put doubt in my head of what i really wanted :) i've gained some weight, 134.2 today, but i still fit into size 6 at David's Bridal w/out the need of spanx.

it is officially autumn here in chicago and this weather always makes me nostalgic for the walks i would take around my college town. nick and i should do something active and free this weekend. and this weather makes me want to cook. i read an interesting recipe on rachael ray for black bean, corn and sweet potato tacos!

hbbroadbent - LOVE the dress...it's gorgeous!  I bet you look stunning in it!

I'm back to working out and eating good, so whaddya know, the scale starts being nice again.  I can't help but wonder if this is where my body wants to be.  I haven't lost anything in like a good year (unless you count the pounds that I gain just to lose them all over again.)  I have seen slight changes in my measurements....1/2" here and there.  Better than nothing I guess.  Toning is always nice to see.

Wonders - *awkward* LOVED the comment about my boobs, I'm a big fan of them myself.  My husband talks about my butt a lot and I think... there isn't anything there.. but there's a lot of something up here!!  (anyone else feel that way?)

This week is the same as last week: 131.5

BUT I wanted  to let you all know.  I am working my way through the Carmen Electra Strip Tease work outs.  I did one on Friday night and I'm going to repeat it tonight.  I was sore for three days straight.. like.. painful to walk sore.  It was great.  Oh, and the one that I am focusing on is actually disc two, aerobic toning and strength or something (no stripping in this one) and it's a total body workout.. literally.

hbbroadbent.. hot lady!  I bet you are looking forward to dressing up :)  Fall is one of my favorite seasons too.  My husband and I are going to go camping some this fall, won't that be fun?

burnyh - my birthday is tomorrow and to celebrate we are going to go home to SC (in a few weeks) and my mother is going to make her amazing chocolate cake.. I'm going to stuff my face full and not look back! :)  So good for you when your family was home.. that doesn't happen all that often.

litz - I hope that your finals are wrapping up with no big problems.  What is your degree in?

iroth - it could just be me but it doesn't seem like you are fluctuating quite as much.  Hope that's a right guess, it's good to see you reaching under 130 :)  Esp. with the break from running.

So.. I'm going to be 24 tomorrow.  I feel like I'm already that old.  23 just doesn't register with me anymore.  Every year is like that though, I'm ready and prepared to be older!

Happy almost birthday, simi!  Any fun celebration plans?  I totally hear you on having a lot of something up top!  Fortunately, I have a husband who loves it. ;-)  I'm always guaranteed, when I'm PMSing and complaining that my boobs are even bigger than normal, to get this look of awe and rapture from him.  Men are very gratifying sometimes!

If any of you ladies living in parts of the US where seasons exist could send me some autumn weather, I would greatly appreciate it!  Southern California is known more for its palm trees than its autumn chill, much to my chagrin.

Happy birthday, Simi! Smile Glad you found a good workout video. I had to find a new dance instructor since I moved, and this new one is a total drill sergeant, so I'm a little sore too. It's making me realizing just how "fluffy" I've become in the last couple years with no ab work whatsoever.

I'm also a huge fan of autumn, but I'm not sure about autumn in Utah so far....afternoon rain? Isn't that a summer thing in most places?

and here's a post-dance class report: 48 hours later I am in severe pain...my abs are absolutely killing me. this confirms my suspicion that I have allowed my stomach to become far too fluffy. too many years of being too scared to do sit-ups for fear of aggravating my stomach disease. I am now determined to reclaim my abs! besides, I get the impression my prima donna of a dance instructor won't keep me around much longer unless I get into better shape...hehehe...

Hey everone! jeez its been a while for me! Ive been working out still just been so busy i forgot to weigh in for two weeks! I'm at 131.5 this week and its ttom so thats not too bad. Hopefully ill see a little drop when my monthly's gone.

I thought i'd also report that i finally got my butt to the gym pool this morning! I used to swim in highschool almost 2 hours a day...i did 1/2 an hour today and i was BEAT. It felt good though:-)

I haven't weighed in for a while...

Last week was a total wreck of a time for me and I think my weight hasn't been doing much. Though I'm really working on keeping up with a routine...:D

I actually meant to weigh in this morning, but I only did so after I ate breakfast (and had a hearty one at that) so my #'s are very accurate today....so I won't post now.  I will see if I can log in tomorrow. :)

The BL challenge I'm doin' w/ my boyfriend isn't going as well for me...the last 3 weeks or so I've been the one gaining or maintaining my weight and he's pretty much lost weight each week. Grr! This means my plan for us putting in $ into our little fund is only me so far! Damn! haha!

Anyway, last week I was able to get in 5 hrs. of workout for the week. Having not been consistent for months...that is great!

This past Friday and Saturday I worked out (weight lifting and cardio respectively), no workouts on Sun. and Mon., but went yesterday (treadmill, ab/adductor machines and ab floor exercises on my own) and tonight I plan on going to my weight lifting class. :)

So, anyway, keep up such great work ladies! You all are doing fabulous! :D

I did weigh myself yesterday though and I was just above 134lbs. Yeah, I haven't been able to lose much lately, as I mentioned.

so, not so good. but this will end up being a blip, i am just leaning more about my pitfalls and how to Maintain my losses instead of Losing then slacking then lose again.

wonderswhy- what's the grad program for? and the dancing sounds so fun/ kick ass(abs) workout!

dmartineau- good for you for making it to the pool in the morning! i opened my eyes an hour earlier this morning and had the thought i could use this time to get in a workout, but then i went back to sleep.

simignonne- nice tip on which carmen workout you're doing. can't walk- good sign! you'll have the A. to match your T. in no time!

The stupid scale is not cooperating with me at all! :-P  I'm trying not to focus on it, but you all know how hard that is.  I started an adult ballet class last night (I haven't done ballet since I stopped 13 years ago) and I found muscles I didn't know existed!  I think it will be good though, to change things up a little. 

Just a couple more days until the weekend!  Hope you're all doing well.
