130/120 Club?
If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?
Thank you :)
Yeah I hear ya Burnyh! Been feelin' blah myself lately...
Though just keep up the good work!
The run sounds like it was good for you to do...:D esp. if haven't done exercise in a few days..
Ingrid - Great to hear that you're trying new things....
Yes, try not to focus on the scale, but keep up with your exercise.
That's what I have to do...not focus on the scale, but keep my mind on working out and eating right...:D
Have a great day all!! :D

Hi all!
Happy Thursday!
Well, I weighed in first thing this a.m. and scale said: 134 lbs.
That's down well over a lb. since I weighed in after my big breakfast yesterday, but it's just over a 2 lb. gain since I last 'officially' got to weigh in on a Wednesday, which was just after Labor Day weekend, on the 4th.
Aw well, I'm still pluggin' along anyway.
Last night I was supposed to go to my weight class...but by the end of the work day, I was just so tired! I've been soo tired (due to personal stuff goin' on in my life, etc.) that I just needed to take a break and relax last night (though that doesn't mean I'm not giving up on my workout routine!! :D )
So, tonight, I am looking to head to the gym for some treadmill workout and we'll see if I can also get in some ab floor exercises and thigh workouts!!
Anyway, hope all is well with the rest of you ladies! :D
Take care and ttyl.

So I'm losing a little :) Right now I'm more focused on what hbbroadbent said, more A to match my T :) I'm tired of being top heavy! The Carmen dvd, it's called 'Fit to Strip' and it's actually pretty good. There are some really challenging things in there.
Ingrid - Adult ballet? How cool! I also did ballet when I was younger, had to quit because piano took over (which turned out to be a good thing!) So congrats to you for getting back in there. Turn out is a b!tch!
Smiles - Sounds like you really worked hard last week, keep it up though, don't slack off too much or you'll lose your progress!
My husband and I are going to start working out hardcore after this weekend. We're leaving today to drive to South Carolina to visit my parents (mom's making me chocolate cake, with homemade icing.. the best!) Thanks for all your birthday wishes by the way, it was a great day. So we are going to take it easy this weekend and then when we get back it's back to hard work. I'm going to try to get a schedule up and then let you all know how it's going. Hopefully lots of running :)
so update on my body (since that's why we're here!) My tummy is pudgier than last year and sticks out a little bit more than usual (I think that is due to lack of cardio) but my legs are getting very shapely and my thighs are hardening up, and my butt...it's looking a bit more perky. Plus my arms are showing muscle when I don't flex and I can do like.. five girly push ups (on my knees, leaning forward). PROGRE
Simi - Oh, sorry I forgot you'd said it was your birthday! Happy Belated! :D
Have a great time in S.C. and have fun! :D
Sounds like you're doing well in your progress....keep it up! That Carmen DVD seems to be doing wonders for you....that's great!
As for me...well I had a tough time last week emotionally with a lot going on, but I did work out 5 days last week (which I haven't been able to do in a looonng while!).
This week isn't 5 days...but that's okay...I'm still working at it.
Thanks for the vote of confidence! Yes, I hope to keep things going (even if I have to change things up now and again with my gym schedule) so that I don't lose progress.
:D
Anyway, have a great day!

wonderswhy- what's the grad program for? and the dancing sounds so fun/ kick ass(abs) workout!
It's a Chinese language program which will hopefully land me with a government job as a translator in a few years, but in the meantime I'm getting itchy-feet wishing I could escape Academia....I've been in school for over 17 of my not quite 23 years of life! *sigh*
As for the dance class, I'm definitely not a natural dancer, so it's been really really tough! I feel kinda dizzy, light-headed, and generally exhausted when I get home...which I think is a sign that I might be overdoing it, as someone who as not really worked out in.......years. I mean, I do a lot of walking/hiking, but nothing hardcore cardio or strength-training... Either that or maybe it's because I have a tendency to hold my breath when concentrating too hard....hahaha
Here's my late weigh-in (I seem to be having trouble getting this done on Wednesdays with my current schedule):
SW: 144
LW: 126.5
CW: 126.5
This might appear to be a plateau, but I don't feel like it is. I think it's just because I suddenly started exercising a lot and eating a lot all at the same time.
Next goal: stop justifying the junk food! Say to self: you are not THAT miserable, THAT homesick, THAT lonely, or THAT busy...and even if you are......EAT RIGHT!
With that in mind, I will refrain from requesting that Simi save me a piece of her chocolate cake, seeing as how I have my own birthday cake in the near future... ![]()
hey girls, just wanted to pop in and say hey.
i finally had a bit of a drop today! 134.4 after 135 forever. we'll see if it lasts 'till wednesday weigh-in.
simi- all homemade chocolate cake! what a wonderful mom :)
wonderswhy- i know how that feels to just want to be done with school, but it will definitely be worth the wait! a chinese program sounds so interesting, and what opportunities you'll have! ballet definitely works it out hardcore. my freshman yr of college i took a beg. ballet "elective" and then discovered it was all dance majors- except me!
smiles- what a victory working out 5 days last week in spite of your stress. i bet it helped, too. good for you, and inspiring.
So the cake was amazing (I even got to bring home a little tupperware cup of the extra icing... I'm horrible I know) and all the food my mom made was great, pork round, green beans, mashed potatos for my birthday meal. We even got to eat homemade pizzas, and waffles.. It was wonderful. It was also really good to see my parents and to sleep in the house I grew up in. I've been super homesick lately which has made my relationship with my husband a bit strained...
So the husband and I have decided that this week will start out our serious work out program. Do you guys have any input? We are revamping everything. I'm even considering going to a body pump class at 5:30 on Thursday mornings, that is if my husband goes with me. I'm terrified of going by myself. We've had a membership at Gold's Gym for over a year and I haven't been to one class because I'm so afraid.
Hey everyone!
Smiles- Did working out help you feel any better emotionally? I find that it usually does, even if i do an "Easy" workout. I try to remind myself of that when i'm not feeling motivated and it usually gets my butt to the gym! Good luck in continuing your success:-)
Simignonne- I hope you had alot of fun, it sound sliek it!! I am thinking about moving down south with my bf next fall and i'm really nervous about being home sick and missing out on my lil sisters growing up years. How long have you been away from your family? If it really hard? I hope you and your husband can be a support system for each other and not be affected badly by the situation, although this can be hard for sure.
Hbbroadbent- congrats on the weight loss, and more so on just keeping with exercising and healthy living!
Good luck at weigh-in tomorrow!!!!
Drumroll please, dadadadad-
Wednesday Weigh-in!
HighestW 155
LastW 135
CurrentW 133!!!
woohoo, downward trend, finally. i'm working the protein shake, plus ttom ended. monday really worked it out at the gym, but no time for gym again until thursday, tomorrow. 1 1/2 weeks 'til my sister's wedding.
i'd love to hear what costumes you all are dressing your sexy bods in for Halloween. Just 6 weeks away. Post links to pictures you're considering!
Someone was telling me other day about their uncle w/ diabetes who has really bad feet and may eventually need them amputated. Then last night I was watching House where a hand was amputated. I woke up this morning just really grateful to have feet and still be young and healthy and the thought of why wouldn't I want to run?! (as you guys know i haven't been consistent w/ the gym lately) I want to try starting to walk on weekends w/ my mom. She has diabetes and lately was inspired to try walking by some senior ladies at her work who do marathons! I think in the past I have been too abrasive in my attempts to get her to exercise. I want to try gentle and understanding this time and just invite her to walk w/ me when i know it fits her schedule.

I hope that everyone's Wednesday is going well!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Simi - So glad to hear that you had a great time visiting your fam. and that the chocolate cake was delish! :D
My little advice for the weight lifting class...if you have time in the a.m. to go to the 5:30am class...I'd say try it! :D I do a weight lifting class (aka body pump is certain locals) in the evenings (b/c I can't do the 5:30am class). I enjoy it!
I hope you at least try it...it usually takes more than a few times to get the 'feel' for the class, but it's totally worth it I think! I always feel stronger and more powerful after the class (and even during - esp. during the biceps track b/c I can actually see my muscles working and it makes me feel strong, powerful, and even dare I say, sexy!!)
Good luck! Let us know...
Hbbroadbent - Congrats at making it to 133lb!
Oh, boy, Halloween costumes...hehe! I had a thought last year, but not sure I'm going to make it this year.....well that and not even sure my boyfriend and I are going anywhere where there will be a party...sheesh I feel old saying that!
Anyway, my idea was for my boyfriend to be Howie and me to be one of the models from the show, Deal or No Deal. haha!
Anyway...;D
Hope all goes well with exercising with your Mom....even if it's just 'slow and steady'. :D Walks with Mom can be nice...:D *exercise + bond time! :D*
Ingrid - Congrats at hitting the 129 lbs! As for advice....I'm not very good at that these days...cuz I am having major troubles with sticking to my goals...err...
I hear ya about just wanting to get to your goal weight/fitness level already...:D
Just one day at a time...:)
By the way, all, thanks for the nice comments about me still going to the gym when I had such an emotional week a couple weeks ago....
I usually do feel better after working out...and I guess in some way it did help with all that I had going on...
Though this week I haven't been to the gym...err....yeah, Simi, guess I kinda am losing that progress I had goin'...
cuz if I go workout tomorrow (can't go to gym tonight)..then it will have been a whole week since I would've gone to the gym!![]()
Aww welll...one day at a time as I said....
Tomorrow I hit the gym then and start up my routine...not going to let my slip ups (with eating habits (gulp) and lack of exercise) bring me all the way down in spirit... So, 'Cheers' to picking myself back up...
*I watched BL last night...it helps lift the spirits I think!*
As for my weigh in:
LW (my more accurate weigh in was on Thurs., 9/18): 134 lbs.
CW: 133.8 lbs.
Yeah, didn't do a lot of progress...but those little bits count.
Have a great day everyone!
Keep up the great work!!!![]()

Ok. Honestly, I forgot to weigh in this morning. (I always seem to do that) But I will post as soon as I can. For other news....
My husband agreed to go to the body pump class on Sunday afternoons, that way we don't have to worry about getting up so early! And yes, MARGO, it is body pump. Anyone else done that one? I hope I like it.
Tonight I am going to start my workout like crazy until... well whenever I see a difference. I am going to use the routine that I posted earlier this summer, free weights. But I am going to add two minutes of cardio in between each set to get enough of it in. My endurance isn't really up to par so maybe that will help.
dmart - I went to college here in Bham, met the man of my dreams, we both had jobs here... so... it's been six years. My husband thinks that moving back to SC would be fine as long as it's not simply to be close to my family. That is a little hard for me to swallow but I see the importance in it. We need to move where we will have jobs too. My brother and sister-in-law are in Boston right now, but will be moving back down after my brother finishes school. So it's hard knowing that they will all be together and I can't see them that often. My family is pretty close... so yea, it's hard.
Hbbroad - awe! This is really exciting! You should totally go on walks with your mom. I've even started walking up this huge hill to take the trash out (we are in an apartment) instead of driving it up there just to get more exercise. Plus your weight loss is great! you should celebrate with a tall glass of WATER!
iroth - I totally know that I told you it would be awesome if you could stabilize your weight and look you did it!!! You should be happy with that. Usually stabilizing means that you are going to see a slow road either up or down, and by the way you work out that will be down :) Just be patient, it never happens over night.
smiles - you bet I'm gonna feel sexy. my tummy right now does not feel sexy but I know I can fix that. PLUS my husband has gotten a little gut :) and he's gonna look DEAD sexy! I'm looking forward to that too.
Hey Simi-
As for the Body Pump.....yeah, at the gym I use, the weight lifting class used to be called that, but I guess the fitness class/system [body training systems] they use they've updated the names so it's called ' Group Power' where I live. :)
All in all, I get what you mean. :D
Anyway, very awesome! So, happy to hear that you and your hubby be lifting weights together on Sundays! :D You go!!!!! Glad you are gonna look and feel sexy too *you and the hubby!* It's such a great feeling to have that confidence....so you can do it!
Keep up the great motivation and positive attitude! Looking forward to hearing all about how you're doing with your workout routine...

Yay, looks like a pretty positive week for everyone! (attitudes-wise, even if the scales don't always cooperate! ;)
SW: 144
LW: 126.5
CW: 125.5
I'm not sure if I really believe this...my scale seems to have a mind of its own. I think it feels sorry for me because I'm kinda going through a rough patch right now.
hbbroadbent - what you wrote made me stop and ask myself "do mormons celebrate halloween?" (I live in Mormonland now) and then I googled it. Couldn't tell from the results, but probably no Halloween for me. If some sort of opportunity were to present itself, I have an awesome Tibetan costume tucked away...the only problem is that it is one of those "interesting" costumes...not exactly sexy or clever...
Agh! Interruption...gotta go.... great work, everybody!
Hey all! I couldn't weigh in yesterday, although i did jump on the scale.
SW: 133.5
LW:129
CW:130
Its a move up on the scale, but I feel better than EVER. I am so muscular it's ridiculous. Haha sorry bout the gloating, but it feels good. Going to the gym has been easy for me lately and dare i say, "fun." Although it is minimal (and possibly imagined) I feel my waist shrinking a bit. The fact that I feel smaller but dont see any number change for the positive on the scale, made me FINALLY buy the measuring tape i've been talking about for months. I took my measurements last night. Hopefully I'm remembering them correctly, if not i will edit tonight;
Bust: i didnt do bust cause I don't care to know haha, it's small
arms: 11"
Waist (taken @ skinniest area): 25" and 7cm
Hips (taken at largest area of midsection): 35" This is my problem area
Butt (taken at largest area around glute's: 36" 3cm
My goal is to make the hips smaller, and the butt larger (all muscle of course). I'm not sure exactly how small/large i want them to be, but i think ill get a better idea as i see how the progress translates.
Anyone else been taking measurements?
What a great idea. I need to remember to do that :) I used to but I lost the measurments but what with my tummy acting up I might as well start over :)
Hey guys.. I'm going to the body pump class tomorrow... say a prayer!
Danielle -
Great news to hear you are doing so well with your workouts and that you are feeling so great about yourself! No apology needed...you are entitled to being proud of yourself and no harm in letting us know. :D
Great job!
Good idea...yes, I agree...about the measurements, b/c as we all know the scale isn't the only factor for finding out what progress (or not) we have made with our bodies.
So, good luck and keep it up!
Simi - Hope all went well with your Body Pump class! :D (hugs!) I hope you had fun or at least are willing to keep at it, since it can take a few times to really be able to give yourself a true test as to whether that class is right for you.
I love it myself and it always makes me feel strong afterward. So, 'cheers' to you and your hubby to getting sexy..hehe...
Ttyl.

i'm about 131 right now, but it seems so hard to go down from 130's to 120's. I should probably stop being lazy and work out more.
Original Post by dmartineau1:

Danielle, how about we just swap? That'll save you the time in the gym (even thought it sounds like you've made friends with it) and me the bemoaning of my lack of curves. I have a nice, cute, fairly muscular bum with minimal hips.
Any takers? ![]()
