Hi ladies, and happy Wednesday!
I hear all of you who have posted recently. How can something as easy as dropping a few pounds be this hard?

CW: 130.8
I'm so annoyed that my weight has been up the last week (not TTOM). DH and I went out for Thai food last night and also got a very bad for me hot chocolate afterwards (325 cals for a tall!?!), so hopefully some of that is water weight... except my weight has been 130 for the past few days, so probably not. I have a physical on Friday, so I think I might talk to my doctor then, though I don't know that she'll be very helpful. I also scheduled a meeting with the guy who runs our fitness center on campus next week to learn more about weight training and how to tweak my routine and diet so that I can hopefully lose weight.

As I have to keep saying to myself...at least it's progress from the previous week, right? :D

It looks like this is the season for refocusing our efforts! Love the idea about us posting measurements and pics. I need to find my tape measure...hmm. maybe we should do measurements every week and pics 1x per month?

Hey ya'll :) I'm back to 131.5 today, from my 132 last week, so that is good news, and I start TOTM in like two days so yay.
Measurements sound like a great idea. I have to admit I've slacked off working out. That body pump class killed me and I've been afraid to do it again, sore for four days does not sound like a good time. BUT!!! I read this awesome article, for runners actually, about hills, and how hard they are. But you have to do it, and the faster you do it the quicker it's over and the stronger you'll be. I just have to do it. :)

Hi guys! Sorry I've been MIA too....I took the week off since my daughter had a week off from school. So no workouts, but we did a lot of activities throughout the week. Eating wise was a little slacking since we ate out more than usual. I held steady at 132, then I finally sent her back to school yesterday and did my first cardio/weight training video in 10 days. I woke up this morning completely sore (where it hurts to sit on the toilet), but was ecstatic to see a happy 130.6. YEAY! I decided on a mini break today, my only workout was to jog the 1/2 mile to my daughters school in the AM then again in the PM. I hope I'm not this sore tomoroow...the funny thing is I kinda "like" the pain??? Anyhow, great work everyone...keep plugging away...especially since the holidays are closing on us quickly!!!

And that's it for me so far. I have seemed to gain my weight just in my mid section (which was my sexiest for years) so I'm only keeping track of it right now.
Watched the debate last night and had people over and drank lots of soda and ate lots of chips and cheese cubes :) I needed a little splurge anyways, next grocery shopping is 80% veggies :( and :) at the same time!!

Excited that all you ladies are here...to help boost with exercise morale, etc. (hugs!!) It means a lot to me to have you ladies here....having to do the 'weight loss' and workouts in person by myself...it helps to have support like there is here on this forum! :D Again, thanks!

I agree with Ingrid that we should start with the meaurements and photos this coming Wednesday along with our regular weigh ins. :) Plus, it's just before the major holidays (crazy with sweets, etc.) Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, then Valentine's Day...oh boy! hahaha. :D

How about we all make a chart, like Hroadbent mentioned, to be able to physically track for ourselves how we are doing? Title it something positive and for a goal you are shooting for for one of the upcoming Holidays... (it can be cheesy too..haha) Like maybe: "By Thanksgiving, I want to get rid of as much wobble in triceps - no comparing me to a turkey this year!" :D haha. Okay, that's kinda stupid...but you know what I mean! &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; I like the Christmas goal that Hbroadbent had before, "Let's Unwrap a Sexy Christmas Present to Ourselves" and even tailor it to your own personal goals... Have fun with it... &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; & nbsp; Maybe we can even take pictures with our posters to show progress...(okay, maybe that's not a good idea, but I'm just throwing things out there...haha)
Burnyh - Happy to see you're doing well with your exercise and lbs. too, even if you haven't gone to 'workout' per se, the exercise with your daughter sounds better. :D Sorry to hear about you being soo sore.....but I do understand what you mean about liking the pain...haha. There are times when I am sore after a workout and sometimes it makes me feel good because I know I'm improving my body. :)

I'm up for the measurements each week. I wa sonly going to do them once per month so that I could see changes, but if we makes charts that would work. Do you ladie sknow if we can just do a chart on windows or excel and past it here?
Unfortunatly i won't be able to do pics becaus ei broke my camera:-( hopefully ill get another one for Christmas!

Yay on goals. I think Heather had a great idea about writing out our goals. What should our Halloween goals be?! Or maybe that is too soon :) How about... run five miles this week and five miles next week, two weeks (ish) before Halloween, that's a good plan.

My goals will be - Go to the gym at least 5 x this week and 5 x next week! I plan to go to the gym at least Mon. for Kick class, Tues. and Thurs. for my circuit training class, Wed. for my Power Class and Sat. for Kick and Power classes.

Hey you guys! I did my body pump class yesterday and I'm not really as sore as I thought I would be :) Sore, but not nearly as bad as the last time. So I'm really excited. Next week I'm going to focus on one thing for upper and one thing for lower, yesterday I didn't have the strength to do all the moves 100%.
Today for lunch I made a big salad :) we have lots of healthy food this week which is wonderful. I'm really excited and proud of myself for making it through the class.. oh not only that but when we got to the gym we thought we were on time but the class already had started and my husband was like.. i'm not going in there late, I'm going to do my own workout. I was like... well I'm not going with out you. We got a grip and just went in and set up while everyone else was warming up... a little annoying but pretty soon we noticed other people coming in behind us :)
You know, I think it's the whole social/psychological part of working out that stops me more than anything else. I'm glad I could push through this, I think that I'm confidant to go by myself now :) Yay! Oh and there is a yoga class right after the bodypump, I'm thinking about going to that one too, what a good wind down huh?

So happy to hear that you pulled through for the 'Body Pump' class, even though you guys were a little late and that you don't feel as sore this time. That's great! It does get better, as I said before, if you stick with it. :D Excited for you!
Yeah, the yoga type class after the weight lifting is nice. Well, for me, I'm not very coordinated for yoga, pilates is a little more for me, but regardless, it is a great stretching class after lifting like that. :D
Happy to hear you have so much healthy foods to eat this week too. :D

woohoo i went to the gym yesterday and am super sore today, in that good way. i feel fatter than i have in a looong time but i feel good i'm finally doing something about the creeping weight gain. grocery shopped yesterday too.

Well, that's a bit of progress...:D Have to celebrate small victories too! :D
My progress pic. actually is the same as it was when I posted it on 10-9, so I'm keeping that one up there. :D I will be ready for a new update next month though! :D
My measurements also haven't changed since I took them earlier this month, 10-3, but will post anyway...
- Natural waist - 30"
- Hips (around largest part) - 39"
- Thighs (each leg measured) - both 23"
- Upper arm (each arm measured) - both 11"
Oh, and I had my 1st circuit training class last night....I think it went well. :) Nice way to really push myself and see how far I can go. Like...on one of the circuits, it was alternating chest press on a step bench and I tried 10 lbs. on the first 2 rounds, then on the last round, I used 12 lbs.
It feels good (though a little sore..haha) to know you're workin' those muscles! :D

Yeah, I don't get it either. I have never been 126 as an adult. After seeing 130 for over a week, I've seen 126 twice in the last few days. I'm changing things up a little and eating more, exercising less, and ignoring what CC tells me I burn. I also met with the guy who runs our fitness center on campus who showed me some stuff to do with squats and lunges and also talked to me about using more free weights and doing less cardio. I'm so excited! I took pictures this morning and will post them tonight. Here are today's measurements. As a caveat, I have to warn you that in 7 days or so I'll be finding out if I'm accidentally pregnant or not (Oops. That's what happens when you use natural birth control and have a great time on a weekend marriage retreat when you should NOT be having a good time...
) So what I track may or may not be changing based on what I find out. Yikes! Anyway:
Bust: 35
Waist: 25.5
Hips: 35.5
Thigh: 21
Arm: 10
TTOM is coming, so I haven't stepped on the scale, but here are my measurements.
Bust: 34
Waist 28.5 (looking to get down to at least 27)
Hips: 33.5 (Wish I had more here)
thigh: 20
arm: 10.5

I'm glad to see everyone's measurements looks like we are doing great so far! Just a little disclaime rof sorts, my waist measurement is the absolute smallest part of my trunk and the "hip" measurement is the absolute largets (not around my butt) I am going to post my glute measurement cause that is one area i am trying to make bigger.

Arms:10.5 (-.5)
Thighs:22 (+.2)
