I'm looking for a 130/120 club, but I don't see any topics started.

If anyone knows of the proper topic, would you mind letting me know?

Thank you :)

Hey you guys :)

Hi to slyq and 3kidsforme!  It's wonderful to have new people in the group :)  I agree whole heartedly with Margo, this is one of the most encouraging groups I've known and I wouldn't be able to be this motivated without them.  Even though we are from all over the place (literally just look at the distance between Ingrid and Margo!) I feel like we're just as close as if we lived in the same place.. well almost ;)

I'm going to do my weigh in and measurements today because I don't know when I'll be able to be online over the Thanksgiving break, and I KNOW I won't have access to a scale, and I'm not that obsessed to take it with me :).  So.

LW: 132

CW: 131 (and then it wavered at 131.5) either way, I'm PUMPED!!! - This is my first loss in over like.. three weeks, I'm very excited to start the decline from that plateau.

Waist: 26.5" (up .5" from 10/16)

Belly: 31" (down 2" from 10/16)

Hips: 38.5" (down .5" from 10/29)

Thighs: 22"

Knees: 15"

Ok so the knees is funny, it runs in my family, my mom and I have the same knees and we have like... fat on them :) so my legs aren't my favorite part, the knees need some work, so I'm going to start measuring them.  I'm going to bet that they are the last ones that get affected but that's ok.

My measurements haven't really changed at all, my hips went up .5" which isn't that bad, I could be measuring in the wrong place (do you guys ever feel like you do that) so I'll just wait for the over all in a few months :)  HOWEVER, my weight has dropped and that is a huge blessing.  I haven't seen 131 in a long time it feels.  Hard to imagine that I hit 127 this past summer.. I'll get there again.  I have to attribute this weight loss to the running.  I know that I'm not near the runner that dmart, or Ingrid or others are but I'm a beginner.  You guys have no idea how stoked I am about running.  I woke up again yesterday morning and kicked it up a notch and did a mile and a half in under 15 minutes.  My dad wants to run over Thanksgiving, I'm sure I've already told you guys and I'm a bit intimidated.  Gatlinburg = hilly and COLD... two things I'm not experienced in.

Hope I can access a computer and internet while I'm at the cabin, I want to hear about all your Thanksgiving fun and know what the new girls are going to bring to the table!!!

PS - I must confess I'm eating runts right now... yummy.  But I do have an orange for lunch, with water, and a whole wheat sandwich :)

Happy Wednesday, ladies!

Hope you all have a fantastic Thanksgiving and enjoy the weekend! :D

Guess I'll start w/ the Weigh In:

LW: 131.8 lbs.

CW: 131.0 lbs.

Slowly, but surely, I'm getting there. Yeah, my eating habits have been all over the place lately, so I figure that's the reason for my slow loss, but nonetheless, I am losing some weight and that's great! :D

I can only hope I can see the 120 somethings (I won't jinx myself w/ a specific # at this point) by Christmas! ~ it's a goal at least. :D

Yes, Simi, it is great that we all can still support one another, no matter which coast we're on or what country we live in! :D It's great! Whoohoo - go "130/120 Forum"!

Great to see your measurements are gettin' smaller too! Keep it up!  It's great too to see that you are lovin' running. Hey....beginner or not, running takes a lot of determination and such...so keep it up ladies! :D

Take care over the holiday everyone and look forward to your posts next week. :) Again, Happy Turkey Day!!! :D  (hugs!)

-Margo

Hi ladies, happy Wednesday!

So, I just found out this morning that I'm pregnant. Surprised

Surprise, happy Thanksgiving, and happy birthday to us.  I think I'm still in shock.  I'm scared to death that I'm going to do the wrong thing.  I'm probably 4 weeks right now and anything could go wrong.  That freaks me out.  I plan on staying here though, since I would like to stay at or below 130 through the first trimester and then not gain a whole lot through the other two trimesters.  So I'm sticking around!

CW: 127

Chest: 35.5

Waist: 26

Hips: 35.5

Thighs: 21

I'm still running a 10K tomorrow.  Hopefully that's okay...  I hope you all are having a less surprising Wednesday than I am!

Oh, wow, Ingrid, Congrats!!!!! (huge hugs!) Laughing  That's great!

Glad to know you are still going to be on the forum!

By the way, hope you have a great birthday on Monday!! *hugs* again!

Take care this weekend ~ have a great run tomorrow too! Good luck!!!!

-Margo

New to the group here. And laying it on the line. I joined a weight loss challenge in January 2008-my beginning weight then was 145. BUT, here is the kicker...I had already started losing weight. My true beginning weight was 152. Man, writing that down seems H-U-G-E! Maybe I only looked in the mirror with closed eyes, but I was always proprotional-true hourglass figure-just everything was just BIGGER (alot bigger)

So..

BW-152 (ouch)

CW-125.8 which rocks.

But (here is the bit of obsessiveness part). I really want to see 122, thereby losing 30 pounds this year. To me, it's more than weight loss. I had a big birthday this year in January and it's completely about how I want to spend the rest of my life. Being healthy, active, able to keep up with my children, etc., use your favorite words here. I have gone from size 14 to size 8/even a 6-HOT jeans I bought today and couldn't believe that was my behind in the mirror. Still...I want to see 122. I'm going about it all the right ways-not skipping meals, eating more grains, lean meats, fruits, cutting out empty calories, heavy weights, adding cardio.

I had hit a plateau of 127 for months, no matter what I ate. But, it finally moved today and I am thrilled!!!!!!!

Anyway, enough of confession. Happy Thanksgiving. I AM THANKFUL...

-Carol-

P.S. I haven't taken measurements since January and probably won't until I see 122-that for me will be the true before and after.

One more thing. Completely duh, but...

How do you add a picture?

OH NO!!!!!!!

I had posted this long post explaining how to upload a pic. and then sending 3kidsforme super praise for her success in reaching 125 lbs., but I somehow wasn't logged in to CC, cuz I was going back and forth for things..and it didn't post!!! GRRRR!

Well...ANYWAY!

3kidsforme - Smile You should be able to go to My Account, click on the link that says, Update Photo, and then you should be able to upload a picture by browsing for photos on your computer.  As it shows, you have the option of putting a caption, date photo was taken, or having your photo as protected or not *either make it public or only allow the people you have added as a friend on your page to see the pic.*

Hope that helps!

Well, since my stinkin' post didn't post..:(

Just wanted to say, hope you ladies have a great Thanksgiving day tomorrow and enjoy your weekend (whatever it is that you choose to eat or not eat. :D)

(hugs!)

See you all next week!

-Margo

Ingrid, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Smile What wonderful news...

Forgive me for slacking, I've had a bad attitude about my body lately and therefore have shunned the scale...

BTW, I ate three pieces of pie today. You see......it was the classic pumpkin-versus-apple dilemma, so I had a piece of each and discovered that in this case the apple was superior. So I had another. hehehe. Oh well. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

hw:150

lw:126

cw: 127

yay i'm finally out of the 130's and i'm so not heading back:D

Happy Monday all! :D

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a great weekend!

Wonderswhy -  (hugs!) Don't feel so bad about the pie...hehe...I've had my share and still have some left from this past weekend.  Though it's good to be able to indulge on the holidays a bit....  I did workout on Saturday, I didn't get in any official gym day other than that this weekend though.  However, I did enough walking around on Friday...yep, I was out and about from about 7am until around 3:30pm...it was exercise enough! haha.

ANYWAY - good luck with gettin' back on track again this week, ladies!

Gurl0411 - Congrats on getting below 130! :D

I too techinically got below the 130 lb. mark as of this Sunday. ;D Though the 'trend' on CC doesn't say that....I am still happy about it! :D

So, I'll just have to wait and see what happens on Wednesdays weigh in! :D

Have a great day, ladies! Ttyl.

Hey you guys :)

First let me say Roll Tide, Alabama has, once again, gone undefeated.  This is a big deal since we beat our rivals on Saturday... ok blah blah blah.

I wrote a really long journal entry, I guess that means that I really needed to be journaling.. when it all gushes out.  So I won't spend too much time here.  Just one thing.  I went running with my dad like I said I would and I Hated it :)  Seriously.  Well, it was outside, and it was in the Smokey Mountains and it was freezing, literally.  We were also running on a trail, so super uneven.  My muscles are really sore on the front of my leg bone.. opposite of the calf whatever that's called.  I'm thinking it's from running on uneven ground (since I'm used to a treadmill)  What do you guys think?

One more thing.  I don't think that I over ate for Thanksgiving because every time I sat down to eat I couldn't eat as much as I could last year.  So that's a relief.  I am however craving Mexican beans and rice like mad so we bought some from the grocery store, maybe if I can make it just like the restaurants then I won't have to waste the money ;)  I could eat beans and rice all day long.  but not tonight!  Pizza night tonight.  And tonight is the last Monday I'll be working until 9pm for the year :) PRAISE THE LORD!

Hi Simi!  I'm sorry that your run with you Dad wasn't as good as you hoped.  Frankly, I have no idea how people manage to run when it's that cold!  Is the pain you mentioned on your shin bone?  That could definitely start hurting because of a change in terain.  A lot of time people get shin splints when they run a lot faster or longer than normal or on a different surface or when they start running hills.  If it's not really bad, I'd give the treadmill a try.  If they keep hurting, rest, ice your shins, and maybe take Ibprofen or some other anti-inflammatory.  I hope the pain goes away!

Thanks Ingrid.  And yes it is that muscle the one on my shin bone!  I went running today, 1.75, and the only pain I'm feeling is slight soreness on my right calf, so I'm working on stretching that out.  I doubt that I got shin splints, it was just major soreness I think.  I don't know how people run when it's that cold outside either, and I'm glad to hear you say it was the rocky terrain.  First we  were on a road then we were on a path running by a stream.  My dad kept saying how scenic everything was and all I could think about was why I couldn't feel my body anymore.

This morning I got to stare at Russell Crowe's beautiful face in Cinderella Man while I was running.  Nice.  Oh and the pizza last night was so good, so worth it.  Tonight will be my last day teaching (I think, I may have one more lesson to add on Thursday) and it hasn't sunk in yet, but I'm really ready.

Margo, tell me you don't run outside in your MA crazy weather.  My bro and sis-in-law live up there in Boston and she says she wears silk long johns under everything!  They went to the Yale vs. Harvard football game and she said she had never seen so many fur coats.  So... it must be cold, and Yale and Harvard boast major bucks.

Hi Simi -

Glad to know you're feelin' a bit better with your shin. :)

Happy to hear pizza night was good too!

As for me, haha, no I don't do much outdoors in the cold weather...esp. not running....hehe. The extent of my 'running' is perhaps some jogging on a treadmill at my gym. :) Yes, it is very cold out here right now. BRRR! I am NOT a cold weather person either...so it isn't something I look forward to. :(

Happy to hear you have fam. up in Boston though..;D I'm in Nrth Central MA - (Leominster) - ever heard of it? :D

Maybe someday if you're ever this way, we can meet up?

To elaborate on that...haha..

I just think if any of us could meet in person one day...that'd be awesome! We've all been a part of this forum - at least some of us - for just about a year or so....

So, I have been wondering, but never asked before (if you don't mind) - What's your first name? Embarassed

Okay, enough of my blabberin'!

Have a great day!

Ttyl, ladies!

Awe! Margo you're so wonderful.  I've actually been thinking a lot about the name thing lately and how I should probably do that since I know most of your first names.  I guess I just felt safer about saying things if no one knew my name, but I think you guys deserve it. :)

I've also thought about the whole getting together thing.  I wonder if we could plan a meeting up point sometime in the future, for those who are interested that is :) I doubt that I'll be visiting Boston any time soon unless my husband rethinks the whole Harvard idea, and my brother graduates in the spring :) But meeting up would be lovely, we could all workout together lol.  We could have a 120/130 ladies retreat :)

And from now on you can all call me Carrie.  I would love it if you did.

I love the retreat idea, Carrie.  Come out to California, all of you cold weather people! Smile It would be fun!  We could go run or walk by the beach...  Seriously guys, I love this group... I hope that you'll let me stay as an honorary member when I cross the 130/140 threshold.

Umm.. I don't think you could escape us even though you're pregnant.  I know I've talked about looking forward to having kids, and Margo's mentioned it, and I'm sure we're not alone in that. (ahem other ladies?!) So if you left the group then I'd just be buggin you like crazy to see how you are doing.

Cali sounds mighty fine.  I might just have to start saving up my moneys for a plane ticket!  No offense to those that don't live in California.. it's just.. I hate cold weather.

Oo  check it out you guys I'm finally first to comment on weigh in day :)

LW: 131

CW: 132

Waist: 26.5" - same

Belly: 30.5" - down .5"

Hips: 38.5" - same

Thigh: 21.5" - down .5"

Knee: 15.5" - up .5"

Ok so I know my weight is up but I'm going to blame that on Thanksgiving :)  I think that's fair, and I'm not too upset about it.  And my measurements aren't going to be perfect, esp on the half an inch thing, like my knees, I know I didn't put half an inch on my knees, I just measured in not the same spot.  But I know that my waist and my belly are pretty exact because my belly button doesn't move and neither does my natural waist.. I hope.  I also have freckles and so I'm using those to my advantage on my thigh measurements.  As far as I know Freckles stay in the same place.

I went running yesterday and it was good, already commented on that.  I'm supposed to do my long run today but I didn't get up early this morning.  I get off work at 3 so I don't think it will be a problem to get it in after work.  I'm thinking about bringing my work out clothes with me and going straight from work.

Ok here's the weird part (and this has never happened to me before) yesterday around 7pm (and yes I was in a lesson with a hardworking little Korean boy) I started to get really dizzy.  It would come in waves.  It felt very much like I had just gotten off a roller coaster, you know?  My evening job is teaching, so I just sit there and teach, then I walk to get the next student and repeat.  I did push myself a little bit more on my morning workout, I ran at 4.8 but it was such a short workout I don't think that had anything to do with it.  I checked what I ate and it isn't anything crazy I don't think.  Then I figured maybe because of the workout this morning I need more calories, so when I got home I had all those rice and beans (yay!) but about an hour and a half to two hours later I got in bed and was still feeling the same way.  It even was making me walk sideways.  Weird huh.

Hey ladies! i wa son vacation last week and really didn't want to weigh or measure myself!! Lots of food and minimal workouts= bad news! it was worth it though.

i have to say I really did miss you all! I regret not coming on to at leats be part of the conversations because you ladies have been a talkative bunch and now my eyes hurt from reading so much lol.

CONGRATULATIONS irothellLaughing Sometimes i think i want children, but i'm young and probably too selfish for kids right now. Eventually though!

i weighed in this morning at 131. I'm WILL take measurements tonight and post them by tomorrow.

Carrie, I think it would be awesome to meet you ladies. It would be difficult since we are all split up, but i'm sure we could come up with something. I'm glad to here that everyone is keeping up with their workouts even through the holidays.

It's so hard going to all the parties and being good girls lol. I try to make healthier food when i am "assigned" to make something. I have an x-mas party Saturday that I need to make an appetizer for, i'm thinking about home made salsa or something (not very festive, but oh well) Is anyone here celebrating a holdiay other than Christmas?

Hi friends!  Happy Wednesday!  Carrie, you beat me here.Smile  I'm not sure what's going on with the dizzy feeling that you got yesterday.  Are you getting enough water after you run and during the day?

I'm 6 weeks today, which sort of terrifies me because that's 34 more weeks that have to go well!  I realized last night that, especially right now, all I can do is take care of myself and hope and pray things go well.  Weird place to be.

LW:127

CW:126.6

Chest: 36

Waist: 26

Hips: 35.5

Thigh: 20.5

Hope all is going well with you ladies.  I've run the last three days and put in 17 miles.  I'm looking forward to cross training tomorrow!
