No, that's not a typo! I'm serious.
I'm new to CC.com and so far all the boards I see are for 100-whatever clubs, etc. I feel like I'm I the only one around here trying TO LOSE 150 pounds or more. Anyone else in that boat?
Thanks!

There is a over 100 to lose club, if that suits your interest.
I think this might be it. I think there may be others like it as well...
Welcome to C-C and I hope you reach your goals!!

You've come to the right site. Welcome!!
I started with 180 to lose but I've got 130 to go now. You're definately in the right spot. =) There may be alot of posts from people with only a few pounds to lose but there are just as many of us with considerable amounts to lose. Even more encouraging is finding posts from people who don't have it to lose now but already lost it, or at least a big part of it. It's really awesome to see posts where people have lost their 100th pound or more and to see photos of those same people before and after. Our goals are not unreachable and reaching them will be the easy part, those dreaded plateaus aside. Maintaining that new low weight will be the true challenge and this has been a great place for me. When I'm feeling particularly lousy I can come here and read a few posts and check out a few pics and I'm inspired all over again.
Ezinger,
Welcome to Calorie-Count!
Welcome to Calorie-Count!
My boyfriend is on this site, although he doesn't post anything as far as I know. But he's already lost over 50 pounds, and still wants to lose almost 100 more. He's been doing it slowly, losing weight over the last 2 years or so, and keeping it off. It can be done!
Welcome to CC! :) We are all here to learn and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Losing weight is only part of it. ^^ Count me in for all the help and encouragement. Doesn't matter if it's 10lb or 200lb, we all take it one day at a time. Slow but steady is the way to go.
Again, congrats on the decision to get healthy again! :)

carmenxox - really, would you please explain to me how could you ever do anything that isn't perfect?
I'm with you ezinger... Let's do it!

Welcome ezinger25. I too was over 400 lb. I've just lost my 40th lb, obviously I have a few more to go. Good luck to you.
carmenxox, you may not have intended offense, but your post was unkindly worded.

ezinger - have you tried before? what are you trying now?
i'm trying to eat fewer calories than i burn, but not more. It is hard to make these changes because I ate lots more than that for a long time. I find it helps to come and read here though. Keeps me encouraged.

Good luck on your weight loss journey!!!! Everyone here is so supportive and so nice, just ignore the nasty comments you get sometimes!
ezinger- i had to lose 184 pounds JUST to get myself to a BMI of 24.9 ("normal").. i think by the time i'm done i'll have lost about 200.. depends on where i end up.. i have "just" 75 pounds left to go (or more, again depending on where i end up).. you are not alone! there are people here that have less to lose, some have more.. but most people on here are supportive to everyone!
welcome aboard! :)
welcome aboard! :)
well need2lose.. i am a perfectionist, but im not perfect, i enjoy art and it drives me insane if my pictures dont look like the original.. and regarding me and my body, there is always room for improvement.. but i dont understand how people just resort to food whenever they are bored, tired, depressed whatever.. there are better ways of dealing with life besides eating for comfort, talk to someone, go shopping, go for a walk, exercise realeases endorphins which make you feel happy.. you have to address your problems and find the real reason for why you are eating if you are not physically hungry... or even if you are hungry, grab something besides a supersized meal from mcdicks... i work there and i dont eat the food, especially after seeing what happens to the people that do eat it... like im trying not to offend, but sometimes a little 'motivation' is nessesary.. you have one life, one body, its your choice of what you want to do with it...
aaahaaa..., see now if you encouraged and shared some of your tips, that would be fine.
but to be so judgemental that you can't understand how people let themself go and "pack back" so many pounds, then I would ask you why did you let yourself gain any extra weight? or do anything that is NOT healthy or right, or ever make a mistake.
this is a weight loss site for crying out loud... and someplace people should be able to talk about how to lose weight, or cripes, how to gain if they need to.
but we should not be made to feel like a failure because you don't understand how we could possibly let ourselves go.
so judgemental.
i'm sure i could find much about you to criticize too. what's the point?

Carmen the point of this site is to be supportive, give advice and give friendship.
It is not to criticize someone for their lifestyle, or what you perceive as their shortcomings.
Ezinger25, this really is a friendly place. We hope you hang out with us for a long time :)

Carmen if you must have a lot to learn about life if you can't understand why people resort to food for boredom, depression or whatever....THE SAME REASONS PEOPLE RESORT TO OTHER THINGS like drinking excessivly, using drugs, ect. ect.
Everybody picks their own poison....at least he is trying to do somethine about it. It takes some people longer to address their personal problems than others, some feel ashamed and choose to ignore things.
I really just don't think it is your place to be giving your mindless advice to somebody who came on here looking for support to lose a lot of weight. Its not as easy for everyone to say no to a Big Mac. I know one thing a 17 year old girl with an eating disorder wouldn't do anything to help motivate me.

and obviously i'm ticked, cookies are toasted, chapped about this. time to go back to the real world...
sorry, this just caught me off guard... unfreakingbuleavable.

carmenxox- what is not to understand? ezinger, and many other people on this site, including me, are here because they realize they have a problem and want to do something about it. why are you here? honestly, to be so judgemental about someone who you don't even know, is rather sad and gives the impression that you have some issues to work on yourself. for all we know, ezinger could have had a condition leaving her bedridden for the past 3 years and caused unavoidable weight gain. if you don't understand something, fine, ask questions and try and find out about someone rather than jumping to conclusions that may not be right. just my opinion though.
you have one life, one body, its your choice of what you want to do with it...This from a person who's starving herself into nothingness... sheesh!
k i apologize for some of my resent posts.. i know that people have problems, and i know that i am one of them... yes its ignorant for me to ask how someone could gain so much.. ok so its like smoking or drinking? well that i understand, because smoking is a drug and its addictive, and alcohol is a drug as well... but... food is not a drug, it is merely a nessesity of life... it is addicting in the sense that you NEED it or you die... i just still am not understanding how you could need it soo much? but i will drop it because obviously i have problems of my own... again i apologize i know that this site is to help people, so im sorry... good luck on your journey ezinger25, i respect the fact that you are trying to change,
Well hey it always takes a better person to apologize :)
Doesn't have to be a drug to be addtictive though...some people are addicted to sex :0
And that is the whole thing about addictions...they are hard to understand because if you don't have it and can be really difficult to imagine needing somthing so much.
