Does anyone here have to do eat 1300 cal per day, if so would you like to start a club.  I hope to share meal suggestions and stay within range.  I just started and I am looking for some buddies.

Hi Yvette - I am supposed to be in that range!  I have added you as a friend and you can do the same if you like!  It's really quite simple once you get going!  In fact I stay closer to 1200 these days and feel very nourished and full most of the time!  Weclome!

hey, I try to eat less then 1300... but I dont like to go over... stay in between 1000-1300... SO can I be in the club?!
I usually stay between 1200-1300 calories a day.  I allow my self to have a maintanence night 1 day a week usually Saturdays!!!

How long have you been doing this, I am at a complete loss and not sure what to do as far as eating.  My goal is 22lbs by Sept. 2006 according to the website.  I wish I could just get a menu daily and choose certain foods, but I guess thats what I am suppose to do.  Usually I eat well, whole grain foods, I love to cook so most of my meals I try to make at home and bring into work for Breakfast and lunch.  My only problem is that with my medication I am not allowed to eat too many green vegetables.  I am trying to eat salads only once or twice a week.  I love salads, but now I have to find an alternative.  Just thought I would give a little more background.  :O)

You probably just have to learn about proper proportions then.  Too bad about the greens but there is salads you can make without greens - marinate veges with low fat salad dressing?  Like a greek salad kind of thing.  I have a wonderful little salad which I love - its tomatoes (you are supposed to use cherry tomatoes but I don't like them), fresh basil, boccinni (spelling?) cheese, Olive oil and balsamic vinegar - mix together and let sit at room temp for about an hour and voila!!  It is really quite good!! 
I have been on my lifestyle change since January 9th.  To date I have lost 27 lbs.  It's a good think you cook and eat at giome alot.  I used to eat out more thinking salads in a restaraunt were a good choice until I realized how many calories I was consuming!  I know for me its portion control.  I love Salads and have them just about every night.  I eat lean protiens, and yes I eat carbs.... can't live with out them.  Can you eat tomatoes and red and yellow peppers?  may be creating a salad of sorts with the types of veggies you can eat? 
Hey all I just got started on Tuesday and I am staying between 1350 and 1400 calories. I have a lot of weight to lose (85lbs). I would love to join this club, too. I am trying a new approach to losing weight this time. I am a junk food junkie from way back that loves fast food and eating out, but now I am trying to cook at home and think about what I eat and learn about portion control. I am measuring and weighing everything so that I am aware of how much a portion really is. So far I have found that it is not really hard sticking to around 1350 calories as long as I eat at regular intervals and my meals are around 250-300 calories each. Not to sound desperate, but I would appreciate some advice, feedback, and maybe and friend or two to go through the journey with.  
WOW!  Its great to have so much support.  Your advise and suggestions are awesome, thanks.  I do have to learn how to eat and everything.  I also have a problem with not eating, has my profile says I am a workaholic and forget that I have to eat, but I hope to get all this under control.  Keep posting and good luck.  I will check regularly.

Today the plan:

B- plain yogurt with berries (200)

S- 1/2 energy bar (80)

L- 1 cup lowfat refried beans (230)

  - green salad with olive oil and vinegar (100)

S- 1/2 energy bar (80)

D- turkey burger on lettuce (I've been eating these nearly daily since posts on here convinced me to try em!) (200)

   -artichoke w/lite spicy mayo (120)

   - 1 serving cous cous (190)

S- sugar free J-E-L-L-O

Leaves me at about 1275- oh so close!!

I got to try those Turkey burgers, Last night I made beef burgers for my hubby and his friends, and I SOOOO wanted one... But I didnt so proud of myself for it. Instead had pepper steak Michelina's Advantage 160 Cals.
I usually try to be between 1200-1300 each day.I am starting to get tired of eating the some old things. I usually have a banana and an english muffin for breakast, salad and an apple for luch,mini bag of popcorn for snack and then chicken and veggies and cottage cheese for dinner. I really like the grape whole fruit bars, they are so sweet and only 80 cal. I am very picky about food, which is very limiting.

Hi Everyone:

I just wanted you to know what I had today, please keep in mind that I had breakfast before finding this sight, but I promise to do better.  Here goes:

Breakfast:  Krispy Kreme donut (Choclate Glazed Cake), Starbucks Latte with Non-Fat Skim Milk and No Sugar.

Lunch:  Salmon (about 2 oz.) with dill sauce, grilled vegetables (yellow zucchini, eggplant, carrot) and a six slices of herbed baked potato.  I did not finish all my veggies, because I was feeling full. Probably because I drank 1 ltr of water before lunch.

Dinner:  Not sure, but I will be having about 2 glasses of red wine this evening, I usually have wine on Fridays (my stress reliever). 

Total:  1,067 (this includes the wine)

Please feel free to comment and gear me in the right direction.  Motivation is also helpful.

Thanks again everyone.  I think with everybody's help we should all do well. 
I am trying really hard not to deprive myself so that I can stick to this and make this a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet. I try to cook as many meals as possible and eat real food that tastes good. I also try to have a lot of variety on hand because I eat depending on my mood. Today went like this:

S: Banana - 116 cals

B: omelette w/3 egg whites, 3 oz of chicken breast, 1/4 cup each onion, reduced fat cheese, green bell and red bell pepper - 256 cals

S: Yogurt - 100 cals

L: Minestrone w/Chicken soup and low fat tuna and crackers - 305 cals

S: Bowl of Frosted Mini Wheats w/FF milk - 240 cals

I will probably have a Smart Ones for dinner around 300 cals for dinner and top off my day with Viactiv calcium and multi-vitamin chocolate chews. They are 20 cals each. I count them in my daily calories and it is great because they satisfy my need for sweets while giving my body what it needs. By the way, that omelette is fantastic. Lots of flavor for not a lot of calories or effort.
I aim for 1300 calories also. Here's a typical day for me:

B- Bowl of Special K Red Berries with fat free milk and a small apple (about 220 calories)

S- Polly-O Low Fat String Cheese (70 calories)

L- Cup of lettuce, cucumbers, red onions,  4 oz Grilled Chicken Breast, 2 TBSP Balsamic Vinagrette (about 400 calories)

S- Fat free Cottage cheese w/ tuna (150 calories)

D- 4oz Baked Catfish, 20 (yes, I count them or weigh them)baked french fries, 1/2 cup Broccoli, tablesoon fat-free tartar sauce & some ketchup (425 calories)

That leaves me a little below 1300, and I dont feel hungry at all.

I hope everyone had a good weekend, I did well I could not log my food items because my daughter was up this weekend and we spend a lot of time together.  I made some general tsao chicken  (weight watchers recipe) over some brown rice.  I also had smoothies for breakfast.

Let me know how you did this weekend. My goal this week is to try and get some walking into my schedule and to start watching what I eat and log everything down.

Hi everyone, I did not so great on the weekend - it's hard to say - I am very active on weekends but sometimes I eat crap!! :)  I did have some wine and some munchies on Saturday - Sunday I did actually very well but got into some chocolate covered almonds!!  But I did good - I ate four and left the box alone - in fact it has been there since Friday and has about half still in there so that's not bad!!  But Mondays I am always back on track and ready to get serious again - I still lose a pound per week so far.... :) Hope you all have a successful week - Easter Weekend...Yikes!!  This will be a tough one!  I have a thing for those malted easter eggs!! Thankfully I cannot eat them without getting sick and have not touched one for a couple of years but I  hear them calling me from the bag in my room!!  They want me to want them!!  Can't wait to hand them over to the kids!! :)
