So I am 5'5" and at the moment I weigh 149 (as of this morning).   I would like to lose another 10-20lbs give or take.  I more have an image in my mind that I want to look like.  I want to have the very toned look to me.  Not so flabby lol.  I have lost 30lbs since January, and I am very proud of myself.  I have maintained 150 for about two months now, I needed a break from being so strict.  I am ready to continue on my journey.  I was looking for anyone else my height...just cause

5'5", 163 as of this morning...working on the next 10 lbs, lost 22 so far, looking to lose another 20-25.
5'5", 167 I have had a world of trouble trying to get the weight off after getting pregnant with my first (topping off at 235). Not being able to get under 175 I got pregnant again with twins this time (topping off at 246). The twins are now three and I'm down to 167. Prior to ever getting pregnant I was a good 125 - 130. I would really love to get near that again. I have been weight training 3 times a week in addition to 30 min cardio and doing 45 min - 60 min of cardio two days a week (for the past 5 weeks). I've also been tracking my food intake for the past 3 weeks and in the process found CC. I sadly have not yet lost any pounds and am just trying to prevent myself from getting discouraged. I figure if I stick with it eventually I'll start seeing a change. Any tips are welcome and greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work!

If you're completely meat-addicted and not willing to open up your mind a bit don't bother reading what I'm going to write.

I'm 5'6 and 110.

For people our size I know how difficult and irritating weight loss can be. Most short people don't retain that much fat but aren't that skinny either. Most tall people are pretty thin also because their fat is stretched throughout their entire body. We're stuck somewhere in the middle and our fat pretty much stays "in the middle"[that was a clever pun :P] also.
I used to weight about 125 when I was around 5'5.

A year ago I decided to become a Vegeterian. That's Vegeterian not Vegan.
I don't eat Meat.
I don't eat Fish(Yes, fish IS meat. I don't know why some people even get the idea that it isn't.)
I don't eat Eggs.(That's just because I don't like Eggs.)
I don't drink cow's milk. I only drink Soy Milk now. However I still eat stuff that might contain regular cow milk and whatnot. I'm not strict about that at all. There's nothing I can do about that :P

In about 3 months...
I went form 5'5 and 125 to 5'5 and ~112.
Now 3 months might seem like a long time but the thing is, I HAVE NEVER GAINED BACK THE WEIGHT. I can stuff my face with the unhealthiest crap in the world (a tub of ice cream, smoothies, fries, etc.) and I never went back to my original weight.

In a year of being Veg I have actually lost more weight and even grew an inch :P Of course everyone's weight fluctuates a bit but the most mine ever budged was from 112 to 115. That was probably mostly water weight anyway.

Now I know I'm going to get this response so I'm dealing with it now.
PROTEIN IS NOT LIMITED TO MEAT.
YOU CAN GET A CRAPLOAD OF PROTEIN FROM SOY PRODUCTS/Tofu/many types of nuts.
Not only can you get just as much Protein from those products as you do with meat but the protein you recieve is BETTER for you.
Meat is high in fat and cholesterol which is bad for your body and horrible for your heart
Proteins from meats do not get absorbed as quickly or as much as Soy Protein. In face you're probably getting more protein from Soy whatever than you do from meat because of this.

If you're finding it hard to lose weight you might want to try this even if only for a couple months. Do some good for your body and animals.

im 5'6 135 pounds... lost 18 pounds so far since february...

I need to lose another 15 pounds....
5'6", 131.5 lb (as of this morning... I guess you could call that 132 lol).  My goal is 125 I think, but we'll see how things look as I am getting there!
Good point chunkylard.  When my boyfriend went vegetarian (simply because he hated the taste) He lost, I'd say 50LBS.  He's gained that all back now.  But simply because he eats mostly pasta now.

BTW if you have any great tofu recipes for him scoot them over my way.

And I'm 5'6" 157LBS down 8lbs about anouther 22 - 27 or so to go.
Soniak we are exactly in the same boat!

are u small, medium or large framed?
i agree with chunkylard.  i'm almost 5'5" so i hope i can post here lol.
i have never gained back any weight for 4-5 years since i gave up meat, eggs and most dairy.  i also avoid eating white breads/pasta and processed foods though.

i understand with being "in the middle". not tall enough to look lean and not short enough to be petite.  but tall women i know complain about finding taller men, and short women i know complain about pant legs being way too long so i guess the middle is pretty good overall!
I agree!! I just started on my diet.. a few months ago I was working out and lost 15 pounds!! But I stopped working out and gained it  all back plus five :(.. I just really started changing my eatin habits.. does anyone have any advice????I have a large body frame.. and an extremly low metabolism... any advice would help thanks!!

~Amanda~
I am 5'6 large frame 180 pounds right now. My first mini goal is 175! Then  I will go down to about 160! As for what I am doing  I count my calorie intake. I consume no more than 1200 all day!

When I started CC last October I weighed 217 pounds!
5'6"
and about 182 right now >.<
First major goal: 168
I'm 5.5.5 and small frame.  My BMI is 30 and I hate the words 'moderately overweight'.  I never had a problem till I was older.

Have stuck to 1,200 cal for the past month and lost 6.5 pounds.  It's been difficult and I've had to count every single item and I've had to be so strict.

Beginning this weekend I am upping my calories to 1,600 on weekends, just to have more pleasure.  If this gets me too off track I will cut back 100 cal.

current weight:  186

goal:  165
I'm 5' 5.5" according to the doc.  According to the doc's scales on 8/3 I was 191 pounds.  UGH!  She told me to drop 40 pounds or go on blood pressure meds.  Blood pressure hovers around 146/94 right now.  Double UGH!

I have to go back on September 13th for a weigh-in and blood pressure check.  Hope to be down 15 pounds by then and will still be at a whoopin' 176. Her goal for me is 150.  I'm thinkin' more along the lines of 140.
I am not too sure what size of frame I have small or medium.  I have smaller wrists.  I don't have a small build though if that makes any sense.  Pretty much if I wanted to be a female body builder it wouldn't be hard to put mass on.  I have the typical german woman's build.  I want to be lean, not bulky.

I don't think I could give up meat I enjoy it way too much, not a big soy fan some of it makes me sick.
Hi all!  It's nice to see an in between height group!

I'm 5'6", 164.5lbs (as of this morning).  I'm down from 190lbs in March of this year.

I liked what chunkylard was saying about going vegetarian...the only thing I have to say about that is that I have enough trouble getting protein into my diet as it is, let alone cutting out all animal products!  I love my salmon too much anyway...they have all those omega 3's, you know.  It would be a good idea, though, to work in some soy products into your diet.  Soy milk tends to have a lot of sugar in it, but besides that, it's very healthy for you and I love the taste!  Thanks for your words of wisdom, chunkylard.
I figured that I would post some questions on here to try and get to know everyone.

Which half of your body is longer top or bottom?       Top for sure

Which body shape are you? I believe that I am an hourglass.  Good site for that is http://quiz.ivillage.com/diet/tests/bodytype. htm

What are your goals? I know most of you have stated them.  I want to be lean.

What are your setbacks? I find it hard to eat around other people they just don't seem to understand that I don't eat most of the crap that they do.

What is your fav. exercise?  I like jogging, soccer, volleyball, swimming a nd cycling.

Is there any person that tries to hinder you? or that you really want to show off too?  My stepmom she has said once "take a picture before she gets fat again"

Who is the most supportive person?  My husband

Has anyone stopped hanging around you for a "reason" that they really can't give you, but you think it is because of your weight loss?   My bestfriend because she can't stick to anything.

Which half of your body is longer top or bottom?    Bottom. Have long legs which always made me look slimmer than I actually was.

Which body shape are you? Round. lol

What are your goals? I know most of you have stated them.  Slim and healthy

What are your setbacks? Too many empty calories from alcohol. My downfall.
What is your fav. exercise?  None. Hate it. Trying to improve though by taking dog for walks and just got carmen electra's dvds

Is there any person that tries to hinder you? or that you really want to show off too?  My husband (show off too). Nobody really hinders me apart from myself

Who is the most supportive person?  My husband

Has anyone stopped hanging around you for a "reason" that they really can't give you, but you think it is because of your weight loss?   A couple of girlfriend who started dieting same time as me and then gave up!

PS Can't believe what your stepmom said. You just go ahead and prove her wrong

Who is the most supportive person?  My Fiance

Has anyone stopped hanging around you for a "reason" that they really can't give you, but you think it is because of your weight loss?   Nope Im still the fatty of the group.

Please help!!!!!
Fun to have a bunch of us all the same height!  I'm 5'5-3/4" and have been mostly 130-132 for the last year.  My ideal is to get down to 120 and maintain that until my husband and I start having kids in a few years.  I think it's doable, considering I maintain this weight when I binge almost every evening.  If I'm able to eat like a normal human being, losing 10 pounds doesn't sound horrific.

Which half of your body is longer top or bottom?    I think I'm actually pretty even... I certainly wish my legs were longer though!

Which body shape are you? A perfect hourglass (36/26/36) unless I lose a few pounds and my chest shrinks an inch. :-)

What are your goals? I know most of you have stated them.  I'd like to be a little thinner, get some better definition, and maintain healthier eating habits (ie. stop binging).

What are your setbacks? I do great through the day and then binge at night.  I'm really trying to work on that, since my husband works until midnight several nights a week and I've had to deal with a lot of stressful stuff recently.

What is your fav. exercise?  I love running and I just started training for a half marathon in October.  I've done a marathon and a 5K, but a 1/2 marathon is new for me.  I try to get in 20-30 miles a week and alternate with some elliptical and weights.

Is there any person that tries to hinder you? or that you really want to show off too?  I think I'm my worst hindrance.  Too much self-sabatoge!

Who is the most supportive person?  My husband, definitely.

Has anyone stopped hanging around you for a "reason" that they really can't give you, but you think it is because of your weight loss?   Nope.  Usually people tell me I look fine and don't need to lose any weight, but no one has avoided me based on my weight.
