Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's. We can all use support. Today I am focusing on all the food groups. Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30. A Super long day. I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.
does anyone have the Prevention dvd, Drop it in 30? I was looking into purchasing that for the 50 minute routine and wanted any input on it. I was also looking at the Firm Ultimate Fat Burning, a 40 min dvd.
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

another day of frustration on the scale. Worked out for 20 minutes on cardio, then 45 circuit (abs, thighs and butts-exercise class with a personal trainer). I am the exact same as yesterday. Not sure what I am doing wrong, everything just came to a complete halt.
Not fair! My scale has been steadily dropping numbers for the last couple of days as MTOM winds down, and tomorrow I'm going to undo some of the progress--oh well! I think any of us planning on some partying tomorrow should challenge each other to get up EARLY and get a quickie workout in! Otherwise, you know you won't do it!
Ok, the gauntlet has been thrown down! All St. Paddy's day partyers do ANY workout you can before you go out! I will be on early tomorrow to log my minutes.
Dee :)

It's on!! :) I'll try to get out of bed early and do a quick work out!!
i'd be totally in for the AM exercise since i usually do on saturday anyways, but there's a GOOD chance that i'll be recovering from partying tonight. so barring feeling like absolute CRAP, i'll try to get up and do something :) exercise does usually help with a mild hangover.
srd--i dont' know the drop it in 30 series, but i have a lot of the Firm stuff. i'm not such a huge fan, though. the firm is definitely a GREAT workout, but it takes a while to get the moves (they get a little complicated), and i find them a little too repetitive to be much fun or hold my interest. but that's just me--if you don't mind that kind of stuff, then they're a REALLY good workout.
v--you may have hit a plateau. it's completely normal. how long has weight loss been stopped? have you changed your routine? increased how much you eat? if yes, how long have you stuck with the changes? and you're not always goign to lose overnight.
in other news--i'm still 142.5!!! yay!!! happy friday!

thanks! I may give it a shot, for some reason I find that I don't mind repetitive moves... not sure why, it seems like something that would bother me, lol. The dvd I am using right now is pretty reptitive, but that's alright, I still like using it. Thanks for the advice!
yay for staying at 142.5!!
yay for staying at 142.5!!
I have been at 141-142 for about 7 days now, have not budgeted a bit. No change in routine, other than I now go to a personal trainer once a week instead of twice. Maybe I need to step up my workout at home. No increase in what I am eating, I have a hard time maintaining the 1200 calories a day, not a big eater.
thanks for your listening and responding Kiigan!

vcooper, a 7 day stand still is seriously no big deal!! a lot of times my weight will stand still for a week or two, then dump off after. you're probably building muscle as well, so you may be trading a pound of muscle for a pound of fat (which would mean you're losing inches but not seeing any difference on the scale)!
wow sounds like everyone is completely stoked for tomorrow.. myself, i dont do much drinking normally.. maybe a couple times a year... lol.. and not really into celebrating st pattys day.. i might have something greeen on just so i dont get pinched, but other then that......
dee- i will be up bright and early, as usual to exercise.. i expect to see all you "partiers" posting that you exercised :P what were you at this morning dee?? just wondering how much you will put on from all that drinking,.. and i bet you have wings tonight :P
srd - sorry dont know about that dvd... i do billy blanks taebo - basic training boot camp, for 53 minutes, on mwf... i like it, and it has resistance bands, so my muscles are building up.. :) and then i do "the biggest loser 2 workout" dvd the other days.. its 30 minutes.. but you set it up to what you wanna do.. :)
vcooper- have you taken measurements?? just because you arent seeing it on the scale doesnt mean its not happening :)
kiigan - yay at 142.5 :)
okay so my mini goal is 145, right?? well i hit 145.5 this morning, does that count?? lol..
hope you all have a good weekend :)

Hey I am new and I just thought I would introduce myself and give you my stats....I am 5'5 or 5'6 (not really sure)...I started out at 178 (but that was after a couple of weeks of dieting, so I am pretty sure that I tipped the scale in the 180 somethings...Yikes!...Anyways it has taken me four months and many stops, starts, eat more, eat less, etc and I have, as of today shed 30 pounds. woohoo!! Although I am very excited about the progress, I am trying to keep my motivation going and lose that last 18 pounds...and man are those last pounds a pain in the Butt! I am still losing but progress is slow, I hung out at 149.5 for about three weeks. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi, congrats on all of your weightloss success so far!
Meg

Thanks unicat! I don't know if taebo is my best option b/c I have downstairs neighbors and don't want to bother them... I've been looking at the biggest loser dvd but haven't really gotten so much of an interest that I actually purchase it
Man, I gotta do what I can to watch my plans the rest of today and tomorrow!! I just binged on sweets! Not that I didn't enjoy every bite ;) I had a donut earlier, just finished a pretty large cupcake and 4 mini pieces of candy. I ate a pretty light lunch... 2c. salad and about 1c. tomato basil soup. But that is in addition to my normal 500 cal. breakfast/snack...
Hopefully what I've just downed will keep me going with out a lot to eat the rest of the night! Def. going to squeeze in a workout today and tomorrow morning!! Hopefully one after breakfast too!! lol... I'm going to plan to not drink a lot and try to eat healthy... One of my non healthy, unmotivational friends is going to be there so it may be tough for me to keep healthy, but I'm going to try!! I might splure and do fries tomorrow :) I'm going to have an omlette for breakfast and do my very best not to order home fries, but we'll see :)

welcome Meg! Way to go on the weight loss thus far!! Those last few pounds are a pain... I'm struggling there too. Since 2005 I've lost 10 lbs and am down to losing 10 more. I've been bouncing b/w 138 and 140 the past few days and am hoping I can lose a little more this weekend despite st.patty's day!! :)
ps. Unicat, I would count that as 145! I counted 139.8 as 139 before :P

Hi Meg - welcome to the group! Good job getting back into it to finish off what you started!
srd - i do the firm a lot and i love it. kiigan's right that it takes a few times to get down their moves, but once you do it is such a fantastic workout!! i love doing stregth training and aerobics at the same time ... it makes me feel strong. i apparantly like repetitive moves as well - LOL!!
djrizzo - i'm so down for the st patty's am challenge ... i'll log in and let you know how i did! i'm hoping to do spins and core central in the am, but that's a lot to get in ... i wouldn't feel guilty later if i did all that though! :) i'm also hoping our st patty's partying will start off with frisbee in the park, which although isn't really too much activity at least it's not sitting and boozing ... it's running around boozing. :)
kiigan - congrats on staying at 142.5 and breaking the 143 barrier!
unicat - you're getting super close to your mini-goal ... keep pushing through!
my weigh-in days are tues & fri mornings ... so today was a weigh in. i totally wasn't expecting the scale to budge. not because i haven't been good, but i feel like i've been losing too steadily, i was bound to hit a bump. well, today was a solid 145.0 ... 1/2 lb down from tuesday! whoohoo!! we'll see what the scale looks like on tuesday though. it tends to be higher on tuesdays than fridays... cruel!

I was measured last week, need to measure myself. not exactly sure where or how. I am new to all this.... sorry
vcooper-you probably aren't eating enough--1200 cals is bare minimum--up your cals to 1500 consistently--and with protein and whole grains--and see what happens. You have to eat to lose weight, and if you read any body building sites, they encourage eating as much good clean food you need. (fresh is what they push). Check some sites out and you will see the message is the same--you need to eat to lose!

ok, I think I'll try this firm thing... I have a step dvd that I like, I'm just not motivated to do it... so I suppose I don't like it! :) So I need to replace it with something and I think the firm dvd will suit the open spot. I like to do one long, hard workout on Wednesdays and Sundays. Where the step used to be can be filled with the firm!
I am in such a good mood today! Probably a mix of skipping wednesdays workout due to shin splints, then my shins getting better and working out and I've released all kinds of endorphins!! lol!!
Ps, I have some fun, exciting stuff in my journal, too much to write out here! I don't want to be a blog hog.... HA. I just made that up ;)

thanks, you are right I have seen that on all the sites that I have been browsing in. I need calories to lose, so strange.
I would be happy just to break to 139.
Unfortunately, I am leaving next Saturday for a cruise. How I can maintain. Vacations usually aren't good.

I also think I'm a little loopy due to a sugar high... jeez, I don't remember the last time I've eaten as many sweets as I have today!!
Here's to a healthier tomorrow :)

srd - also, look at collagevideo.com - it gives good info on videos!
also, i don't have the one you're thinking about getting, so let me know how it is! i just have a bunch of others and really like them.

yay swearimm on making the 140/130 group :) whoohooo
srd - i think i did that on my last mini goal too lol.. i mean, it does say 145 (if you ignore the .5 hehehe)... and i bet you are on a sugar high lol.. donuts, cupcakes.. yup...
thanks teenwolf.. i cant wait til i can actually say i only have ten more lbs to lose :) that would be a grand total of 63 lbs lost :) 73 when i get done (if i stop at cc goal of 135 :) )
vcooper - check out almost any clothing site on the web and they will have a thing where you can tell where to do your meaurements out... (just pick an item of clothing, and then it should give you the option to see sizes etcc..?) and they are probably right, you arent getting enough calories in...
off to exercise (had to take my daughter to school today instead of the neighbor taking her, so i am behind in time)
