Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's. We can all use support. Today I am focusing on all the food groups. Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30. A Super long day. I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.
just purchased the firm dvd I was talking about earlier... we'll see how it goes!

I was a good girl, did my exercise (twice as hard) to try and break the barrier I have been on. Going to work hard again tonight, I really want to make it below 140 before I leave for vacation on Saturday!!!!! I did up my calories also, lets see what happens - I am beng optimistic.

i had a revelation this weekend when i went to the movies. I asked for a small popcorn and a medium drink ($9.25). The young lady handed me this monstrous bag of popcorn that could have fed 10 children in africa. The "medium" drink could have klilled the thirst of at least 6 of Tamji's d/c munchkins. WOW! americans eat a lot.. i wanted to ask the girl how much would it be if u just put handful in the cup that all im going to eat anyway... and then she asked me do u want butter on that? hell no to clog an artery or sumthing my body isnt used to this crap anymore. so i had my handful of popcorn and threw it away what a waste... the movie wasnt quite done yet so we sat an waited for the people to leave the theater. As people were walkin by i couldnt help but stare at the almost empty gigantic bags of popcorn they were carrying ro the nacho containers with the globs of cheese like wow you really ate that huh.. You never notice how different your eating habit are until you are in a public setting.
oh yeah weight??? steady 148... the dreaded time has come... feeling like the blob has taken ahold of my soul/body.

I didn't weigh myself this morning - starting a new plan today of only looking every 3-4 days. All it did was frustrate me.
I know what you mean about what other people eat, kinda funny to think I was doing it not that long ago. How times change!!!!
My doctor made me feel good this morning, I was there for a physical Jan 4 weighed in at 157 and down to 141 this morning. I have to quit being down on myself, I have come along way from January.
my goal is 135 by mid April.........

Do you know that the "all you can eat" phenomenon is strictly american? Other countries are appalled by our gluttony--we really can graze like sheep when we set our minds to it!
When I first started controlling my portions, it looked like it was some kind of joke--I mean 1/2 c. of pasta is a serving? But yes, the mounds and mounds of spaghetti we pile onto our plates is enough to feed 4 people--it's no wonder we have obesity problems, and what's scary is the kids that are now showing it--obesity, juvenile diabetes, asthma--all caused in some part to our eating. Makes you want to become an activist!

i totally hear you. i don't even want to eat the movie popcorn anymore because of all the awful oil that they pop it in! even if you get it without the butter, it's ridiculous how bad it is for you.
v--great job losing so much weight in so little time! that's awesome! but keep it up and try not to get down on yourself! your weight loss will slow down--so just focus on being healthy!
it was fun because i saw some friends that i haven't seen since the beginning of january, and a few of them told me that i was looking quite skinny! how sweet!

srd - it probably is water weight.. will see in the next couple of days if it comes off (which is what i am hoping mine will do, quickly.. lol) congrats on getting your bicycle :)
dee - i gotta flush my system out with plenty of water too lol.. ugh.. i had to buy bottles of water cos my two 5 gallon ones are empty.. and i bought one liter bottles.. which is really irritating me, cos i dont drink the water quick enough and it gets warm... i like my water ice cold... otherwise i have a hard time drinking it... :(

(i am not taking away the fact that i reached the goal.. i did it, and am proud of it... and just because i had a momentary urge to eat something yummy doesnt cancel it out :P ) 146 this am... gonna eat some good for me food today, and drink lots of water, and do taebo... yay...

any suggestions for cruising. My husband and I will be leaving Saturday for Tampa, cruising to Grand Caymen Island and Cozumel. I plan on usig the weight room or trying to be good, but GOD it will be vacation!!!!!!!
if you have some resistance bands/tubing--take those with you. they're a great way to get in some strength training in a small space without weights--plus they're compact and will travel REALLY well.
make a point of taking walks around the ship every day--morning/evening, whatever. it'll get you moving. as far as food, remember to have fun and indulge, but try sharing desserts and avoiding foods with heavy cream sauces. go for more of the wine or tomato based stuff. focus on fish and vegetables or maybe some poultry. don't totally restrict yourself--it IS a vacation, afterall--but be aware of your portion sizes.
plus, a few larger meals may help your body break out of your current plateau. a lot of ppl see some drops after a couple of big increases in calories (that's when i broke down below my week long weight--only by half a pound, but hey, it broke!)

You know, I need to start logging my water intake--I know I'm not drinking enough--I think I just get 1.5 L of pure water per day--I drink coffee, protein shakes mixed with water, but I should be drinking more of the plain stuff. Brigitte, how much are you drinking? Anyone else? I need to convert to Liters cus I just think that way--(high school science teacher).

Hi Everyone! wow so many posts since Friday! It sounds like everyone had good weekends :-) Congrats to those who kept to their cals and excercise and for those of us who didnt it sure sounds worth it! Here's to a happy/healthy monday and start to the new week!
I went to the movies in Jan and was so irritated by the fact that I paid 6.00 for a small popcorn and got this 'little bitty bag' for how much money my friend and I paid..Thankfully, my vision, too, has changed on this since then.. and not just at the movies. What's better is that my girlfriend who also wants to lose weight but doesnt want to give up junk food, went grocery shopping with me and started picking out the 100-calorie snack bags, high fiber cereal, lean meats etc (instead of little debbies or doritos and that sort of thing). She also joined me at the gym on Sat which was wonderful! I liked having a gym buddy for a change :-)

ugh i am drinking probably anywhere from 125 oz to 150 oz......
if i drink 4 of these one liter bottles its about 132 oz...
i think i am getting burnt out on exercising.. :( i know i need to take a day off, but i am so scared that one day will lead to two.. etc... and then i wont be exercising at all.. :( i was going to do my taebo this morning, and decided i just didnt feel up to 53 minutes... so i did my biggest loser two workout instead.. the way i have it set up takes 30 minutes... i dont burn as many calories.. almost half i think, as taebo... but i dont have to exercise as long.. and all the way through it, i just wanted to quit.. ugh... i dont think it helps that my kids are home on spring break.. the 5 year old was up as i was getting ready to start.. wanted breakfast and something to drink.. then the 3 yr old woke up and he wanted... lol.. (in the middle of my workout, ugh)... how do you guys (ladies) deal with taking a day off??

and fyi...33 ounce(one liter) = 935.5 grams so 4 one liters = 3742 grams of water..
already had my tubes on my list to pack. The walking sounds good, and sure I can talk my husband into it (may have to bribe him). thanks for the tips.
I'm a wine kinda girl anyway. We started doing various wine trails around here in Ohio about two years ago and have met some great people. I planned on indulging alittle it is vacation as you say. Besides I think I am getting a little over board with the calories and exercise lately - worried about going backwards I guess.

oops forgot....... thats alot of water and one thing that I really have a hard time with. Can't get use to drinking all that water.
it took me a bit to get use to drinking this much water... i think the biggest thing for me is taking a drink after every bite of food (and i mean a good size swallow lol) when i am eating.. it helps me get through alot more water then i would normally go through, and helps me feel fuller :)
I tried it yesterday, I think I spent like 75% of the day in the bathroom. : - )
lol.. well that will slow down, a little bit, lol.. your body kind of gets use to it.. you still have to go a lot, just not as often... lol
