Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

good morning! weigh-in sucked.. didn't even lose one ounce... So I'm going to cut my calories more. Looks like I was consuming 1700 on average last week!! So I set up and planned my next week on a spreadsheet to consume 1300/day. Wish me luck on that!! back to big giant salads with protein for dinner! :)

cassy- nicely done at fridays! yummm... ice cream and brownies.. *drools* I'm treating myself to a dessert when I go out for my birthday :) I know I shouldn't reward myself with food, kind of defeats the purpose, but hey, it'll be my birthday! :D

karey- good luck getting that run in today! and great job with keeping eating in line! wtg!!!

talk to you ladies soon! :)

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Work has been super busy, sorry I haven't kept up with posting...But I do love this job...Wish they could afford to actually hire me..

Weight is dropping consistently since I've controlled the sugar craze...down to 136.2 from 146 something a couple weeks ago...so YAY me...

Work interfered with getting to the gym on Mon but I got in a good workout last night and hopefully will again tonight....

I'm back on my old plan of preparing meals on the weekend (Dad has been doing a better job keeping the kitchen clean so I can cook) and freezing packets for my lunches....That works best for me...

Sorry, no time to comment to all....but if you're being good, keep it up...if you're being bad, cut the crap!

Joan~ glad that you are getting yourself back on track and that you are able to do your cooking again.  I planned out my lunches for the week and found easy recipes that are all one serving.

Stacey~ hasn't anyone told you...Birthday calories don't count, lol.  If we can't treat ourselves for one day without guilt there is no point to living.  Not saying you should go over board, but have a day where you don't think about calories and eat for the sake of taste.

Karey~ Can't say I've ever heard of anyone pushing their shoulder too much but I guess anything is possible.

As for me, I didn't do as good as I should have eating yesterday.  I ended up snacking a lot later in the evening.  I also didn't do any yoga/stretching or strength training.  Today so far I have kept myself on tract with food.  I had yummy oatmeal for breakfast, a home made ganola bar for snack, a hearty salad for lunch, no afternoon snack.  But I will be going out with a friend for supper and I'm not sure if it'll be Perkins or Village Inn.  At this point I don't think I'm going to get my run in tonight, I'm feeling really tired and my lower legs are pretty sore.

Well eating has been okay the last couple days, thankfully, I didn't get a jog in last night as mom had a party at her house, didn't get it in today as I had to take Colby to get a pair of shoes and my back is killing me, think I need and adjustment, lower back is hurting, think it's the shoes I have worn to work....anyway allergies are starting to kick and hopefully will walk tomorrow, my knees have been kinda achy so I'm not sure what that's about, so if I have to stick to walking so be it, I can do that to as long as I am moving...onward I go. Plus my body is so screwed up it's like ttotm has hit full force, those bc pills have to get out of my system so I can get straight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cassy- What is it with evenings that just get us? It's so frustrating.  Sounds like you have had some yummy stuff today.  Take it easy and have a great time wtih your friend.

Stacey- Birthdays don't have claories to them:)  I hope you have a great one too and enjoy it to the fullest, sounds like things are going good for you, hate to hear that your weigh in didn't go the way you wanted it to but you are doing great.

Joan- loook at you go!!!!!  I wish the boss could hire you too maybe they will see that you are such a wonderful asset that they can't do the stuff without you and it will turn into a full time job!!!!!  I'm so glad you are getting to get your meals planned that's great and I'm so happy your dad is helping keep things picked up.

Anyone heard from Brigett lately?

Stacey~  Sorry your weigh-in sucked, but at least you didn't gain, right?  At least you have a new plan of attack all lined up.  ;)

Joan~  That's such a good idea that you cook and plan your meals ahead of time... wish I was that organized.  I just kind of wing it the night before or morning of, lol.

Cassy~  Sounds like you're doing very well with your eating today.  Hope your dinner out with your friend is good.

I did well today... ate healthy and I did get my 5k run in this morning.  Not too much shoulder pain either.  I tried to make sure I stretched before and kept shrugging my shoulders and rolling my neck to make sure I was staying loose.  :)

good morning! feeling good today! I stayed right aroung 1250-1300 cals yesterday... I have my week set up to next Wednesday and am feeling mighty confident!

re: birthday cals... believe you me! I am not planning on counting a single calorie!! I made plans with the fam to go to BD's Mongolian BBQ for my birthday.. It's a buffet style, stir-fry deal and it's delicious! I'm still going to stick to lean proteins (seafood) and things of that nature.. But I plan on one big stir fry and a big nasty desert and a glass of wine Laughing AND we're doing it for lunch! So I can eat a light breakfast, really go to town at lunch and deal with dinner depending on my fullness :) I am oh-so-excited!!! It'll be a reward for my 10 pound weight loss and a celebration of my day!

joan- nice job on the weight! keep up the good work! wanna send me some frozen pre-made deliciousness?? ;)

cassy- sounds like you need a well-deserved day off :) your food looks good an everything; enjoy the night!

sherry- my allergies are pretty outrageous as well.. it sucks.. I am sneezing for the first hour I'm awake and stuffy the rest of the day.. sorry you're so busy! hopefully everything will slow down soon :)

karey- good point.. no gain! but honestly... for 9 months straight, I've been seeing 140.6 at any given time I get on the scale... maybe my scale is broken.. lol.. doubtful but at least I got the maintenance thing under control! nice job yesterday!! looks like you got good things accomplished! keep up the great work!

Stacey you have everything under control I really think you will start seeing a difference, but hey don't knock yourself short on being able to maintain for the last 9 months, that's great.

Okay I didn't walk.jog last night as I just felt awful, achy, tired and the list goes on and my stomach wasn't feelign well, so I chilled, tonight I should be able to get back to walking thankfully I have been trying to stay in line on my eating.  My knees are bothering me so I think tonight I'll just walk and see how they feel, I had a wreck years ago and my left knee hit the dash had a mri and it all checked out okay so I just think I haven't stretched enough since I have been doing more mileage and that's why I have the ache, so I'm going to take it easy and see how it goes, it just puts me back on being able to jog more of the 1/2 marathon, which I'm not registering until the morning of as if the weather is misty and yucky I probably won't do it, I can't risk getting sick and missing work, so I'm just taking it a day at a time, plus I'm doing it more of a personal goal, and I have decided even if I can't make it for some reason the main reason I'm trying to walk/jog is to get something consistent.  There is a 5K the same day as the marathon that I could always do, I don't want to push to where I injur myself by not training properly.  I don't mind even walking the whole thing....just to do it.  Okay so I just wanted to ramble.

I just don't understand what is up with my knees, they just ache, so I'll stretch good tonight before I walk and afterwards.

Karey- good job getting your run in.

Stacey~  Your birthday lunch sounds yummy!  I'm sure you'll enjoy it.  ;)

Sherry~  Sorry to hear about your sore knees... bummer.  Hopefully you'll be able to get your walk in tonight, just take it easy.

I went to the mall this morning and bought some new clothes - yay!  Got some cute capris, jeans, black dress pants, underwear, 3 new shirts, and a few new accessories.  I didn't spend very much either... most of it was on sale or on clearance.  I really like the store Charlotte Russe... any of you shop there?  Anchor Blue is awesome too.. bought some of their jeans, except I must have short legs because I bought a size "short" and they're still long.  Hoping to get some weight lifting in tonight and maybe a bit of light cardio.  Have a good night everyone!!  =)

Yet again I didn't get to walk last night as had to go to momo's for supper, I felt I did pretty good 1/2 steak, medium baked potatoe and small salad, I did come home and get on my "bike" my elliptical coverts to bike and did that for 20 minutes, my knee started hurting, which I think it's my thigh muscle not my knee so I should be good to go.  Then I did soem arm exercises.  Weights was 143 this morning, I can deal becasue there was a couple of nights that I snacked more so I hoping for a good weekend.

I don't understand I can get like 2 good weeks of exercise and then something happens and messes me all up, it seems to happen every time, I think I'm going to save my money I get at Christmas and do a 6 mth gym membership!!! That would take me back to the summer.  But I'm just glad I did do the bike last night it said it burned 190 cals, I don't really think that's right.

WOW after the slow summer I was really surprised to see all the posts! I think this just means that everyone is back on the wagon. I think I am still dragging behind it ... just maintaining and getting by...  but at least I haven't fallen off. The scale said 130.8 this morning, a mere 0.8 pound from my goal weight. I've been dancing around it for months... but what can I say? I'm stable and I am happy with that.

I am ALMOST done sewing for the renaissance festival! I counted and I think I am costuming 21 people this year. Granted half of the pieces were already made, but still! that is a lot of gathered seams. We have a group of 30 people going tomorrow so I will have to post a picture! (I think that we need to make a rule that renfest calories don't count either... or at least that anything that comes on a stick doesn't count)

Stacey- I am so excited to see you on here again! Happy birthday! I love mongolian BBQ. We have a visiting professor from Korea that  decided to share his cooking with us two weeks ago. He marinated 10 pounds of Korean BBQ and grilled it up at school for us. sooo good. he promises the recipe, so maybe I can pass it along when I get it.

Karey - I used to shop at Charlotte all the time! I stopped shopping there when the 80's fashion hit hardcore but now that it has gone out as a fashion craze I have ventured back. It is a great store to find a bargain! I have been wandering around the mall lately trying to convince myself that I need new jeans and I should just DO IT already! (I hate jeans shopping) finally, last week I looked at the pile of jeans in my closet that haven't fit in at least 5 years and said, why not? turns out I have 5 pairs of jeans that fit perfectly. sheesh.

Sherry- I am in an exercise slump too. I just can't seem to get back into a routine. I talk myself out of going to the gym before I go home :( The only thing that keeps me doing at least one thing a week is a friend who always asks if I am going to aerobics on Tuesday.

good morning! feeling ok today.. stressed about school loans and a failing economy but what else is new... More motivation to graduate I guess...

just a quick note: my bday isn't until December 14th.. I just talk about it a lot at this time b/c it's when my family draws names for Christmas (we do a secret santa deal) and my Christmas list includes birthday ideas :) Plus, this year, my birthday is my goal date to lose 10 pounds... soooo.. I have a while, but it's coming!!

sherry- I hope you're right about see a difference :) Hopefully you can get out and enjoy the weather this weekend with a nice walk! and dinner sounds good, nice choices!

karey- yay for new clothes!! I like Charlotte Russe too.. my sister said they're having  a HUGE sale right now! Sadly, I can't even afford $3 sales.. lol

jess- glad to be back! sounds like you are so busy with the festival! I can't wait to see pictures! that bbq madness sounds delicious!

Sherry~ go to the Chiropractor and get jumped back into place.  When I start feeling out of place or having knee/back/joint issues I go and I always feel 200% better afterwards.  Make sure you get your long run in this weekend, it is super important, like the most important run of the week.  Slack the rest of the week, fine, not on your long run.

Karey~glad you didn't have any shoulder issues on your run. Your shopping spree sounds like fun.  I do most of my shopping at Old Navy, they have awesome deals and the pants fit me about perfect.

Stacey~ sounds like some yummy eating, good treats but not over board.  I know it sucks seeing the same numebrs on the scale, I've been seeing the same ones for ever too.  But steady is way better then gaining.

Jessica~ your doing great keeping yourself close, maintaining is way more important then .8 pounds.  Just enjoy your time at the ren fest, I'd say you desrve a day where you don't have to worry about calories.

As for me, food has been fair.  I can and should do better, and eat way less food.  I did have an AWESOME run last night.  I did 6x800meters.  On the first one I didn't pay attention right away and I started running way to fast.  But I was able to hold a super fast pass for about 75 sec, and when I slowed down it was to my normal fast pace.  I did all of them right where I wanted to.  If I can keep up on my running now, and then train smart this spring I might be able to drop an hour off my marathon time.  That would be awesome!!!  Hopefully the rain lets up tomorrow so I don't have to runn in the cold rain.  Otherwise no big plans for the weekend.

Have a fun and safe weekend everyone!!

Wow, lots of activity in here today!

Sherry~  You've been doing well, don't lose your motivation.  Stick with it and you can do it!  Hope your sore knee/thigh feels better soon.

Jess~  Wow!  Costumes for 21 people... that's a lot of sewing!  Have a good time at the festival! Would love to see some pics!  Lucky you, having 5 pairs of jeans that fit perfectly already in your closet.

Stacey~  Glad you're feeling okay today!  I think we are all stressed out about the economy lately... sad.

Cassie~  I like Old Navy too... they have some cute stuff sometimes.  Way to go on your awesome run!

As for me... just got back from having some Dairy Queen ice cream!  Yummy Thin Mint Blizzards, damn them.  Now I've got to go work out hard to make up for it, lol.

Jess- wow that's alot of costumes, I hope you have a great time, sounds really neat, I have seen them on tv:)  Hang in there you are almost there to that goal weight you can do it.

Stacey-I know what you mean, I work at a bank doing mortgage loans we are really feeling the crunch and they are making guidelines changes like every minute, but hopefully we can all pull through. girl I thought your birthday was now!!!!

Cassy- that's the way my food has been, fair but I could defintely do better. That's a great run you got in way to go.  Wow that'would be so wonderful to get an hour off of your time and as dedicated as you are I know you can do it.  I hate the rain, it makes it really hard for me to get out, you are awesome.

Karey- we have a Chrlotte Russe at the mall I guess I need to put that store on my list next time, I don't do a lot of shoping at Old Navy, they don't fit me right or  I'm made funny!!!!  Dairy Queen, I love the chocolate covered strawberry waffle bowl, they are so good, but our dairy queen  closed so at least that's one less temptaition.

I may not get my long run in until Sunday, Scott is having to work tomorrow and I can't leave Summer at home by herself, according to what time he gets home will be the answer to my long run/walk tomorrow, I have Sunday afternoon and if all else fails I am off Monday I can do it then, which would be fine I just need to get some miles in this weekend and get the long run in, I know I may have to do more walking but I have to do it, for myself and for Cassy because she has been great answering and helping me through this! Thnak you.

I don't have anything else planned for the weeknd.

good morning!! how's everyone doing? Good, I hope! I'm bummed b/c I drank more than expected last night and I've trying not to do that. In my defense my b/f's brother's g/f was over and she'll try to get anyone drunk and usually succeed... no excuse, I know.. I'll just drink water when I go out dancing tonight.. Maybe 1 shot b/c it's my friend's bday but we're coming back to my place afterwards... we are walking there so that's gotta count for something.. right??! ;)

cassy- you're right... at least I havent' been steadily gaining! gotta look at the bright side ;) thanks! wtg on that awesome run!!!! I bet that felt soooo good!!!

karey- yeah... it is so sucky... I'm not a huge fan of either of these people that are running for President.. I just hope whoever makes it turns this country around... I have been living paycheck to paycheck since I've been working (at 15 1/2) and now it just seems so much harder... ugh... hopefully my b/f will get a real job soon and he can be my sugar daddy till I get out of school... lol!! omg! a blizzard???!!!! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sherry- lol! I tricked you! ;) my bday is just my goal date.. so it isn't too far away but far enough.. I always get super excited about my birthday though... Probably since I was 3... or at least as far back as I can remember.. lol.. I think since I'm the middle kid and never got the spotlight in my fam b/c my two sisters are geminis and would fight for it all the time, I really looked forward to the one day that was just mine ;) and I STILL do!!!! haha.. I don't think I'll ever outgrow that...and you can do this run! I know you can :) It's going to be tough finding the time but MAKE time for this! you know you won't regret it Laughing

all right... going grocery shopping... see you all later!

Sherry~  I half wish they'd close the Dairy Queen by me, lol!  It's just too yummy.  Hope you're able to get your long run in.

Stacey~  Sugar daddies rock!  LOL  Hope you're having fun dancing and drinking your water!  =)

Did Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred last night - it kicked my butt!  I was able to do the first workout, but she's pretty though.  I was dripping with sweat when I was done and it was only about 20 minutes or so, but she doesn't give any breaks at all.  My HRM said I burned 180 calories.  After that I did some more cardio on the treadmill and got in a couple of miles.  Went shopping again tonight... it's becoming a problem, I think.  I bought a couple more shirts and a watch.  Yesterday I bought some new heels and another pair of cute shoes.  I'm starting to think that I used to be an emotional eater and comfort myself that way and now that I can't do that, I've resorted to filling the void with shopping.  I felt so guilty when I came home tonight...  I told my hubby he needs to keep an eye on me because the shopping is getting addicting.

Yeah for me!! I'm doing my happy dance!!! I got the 10 miles in today,2 hours and 3 minutes, I am really happy with that time and think I can realistically keep up with what I did today on 1/2 marathon day, I could have easily just sat out in the sun with my friends but I got myself up and hit the road......I jogged about 4-5 miles and walked the rest, I didn't jog consecutively, I started out walking and that really helped me. I'm so glad I got that in, I'm off work tomorrow, Columbus Day, gotta love working at a bank for that so i will be lazy tomorrow, because I can tell you my calves are going to be sore, I have muscles in my calves/shin area that I didn't know was there!!! That last mile was a killer, thank you Cassy for pushing me because I definitely would not have enjoyed myself without getting some realization of what I am about to do.

Eatng was good today, yesterday wasn't toooo bad but I could have done better, Summer and a friend made cupcakes, yep I had 3 of them, thankfully they didn't load them with icing most of them had smiley faces on them:)

Karey- I have a Jillian Michaels workout dvd and it kicks but too...she's good.  I bought a new pair of shoes today, I found some really cute clothes but I have to get some money saved up before I get to go shopping.

Stacey- I think it's great that you love your birthday so much, not many people care to make it a speacial day.

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Sherry~  Congrats on your long run!  WTG!  Ten miles is quite a huge accomplishment!  =)  Mmmm... cupcakes.  Yum.

I got my 5k run in yesterday morning and then hubby and I walked around the lake after lunch (salads).  Later, I also walked the dog, so quite a bit of walking.  Today is weight lifting day or DVD workout day... we'll see.

Sherry~ WTG on that great long run.  For your chins/calfs here are somethings that might help: Stand on a step with just the balls of your feet and do raises and dips, do one leg foreward squats and really focus on the calf, have yor hubby or kid use a rolling pin on your calf (don't laugh it works), or talk the hubby into a good foot and leg massage.  Now that you have done 10 miles you should realize you can do 13.1.

Karey~keep that shopping in check.  I forgot about the thin mint blizzard, I really want to try it but afraid I might like it too much, lol.

Stacey~Hope you were able to turn your weekend around and make the most of it.  Dancing can burn a lot a calories!!

I had an ok weekend.  Saturady I got a 15.75 mile run in.  When I stoped to stretch I forgot to restart my garmin so I din't realize I was short of my 16 mile goal.  But hey, it's my off season so I'm not going to sweat it.  Did good all day Sat. with eating untill the hubby brought home a treat for me when he went shoping, cookie and creme cheese cake bite, I only had 1/2 a serving.  Sunday I didn't do as well eating.  Today back to the grind.  I added a scoop of my protein powder to my oatmeal for breakfast and for lunch I'm having a protein shake.  Supper in going to be corn bread and spanish rice.  I will keep my calories under 1500 a day this whole week (except sat).  My weight didn't change at all this week.  So I guess I have to shock it.  Tonight is a 5 mile tempo run.  Tomorrow I'm thinking of using my elliptical.

hello!! well... Saturday didn't really go as planned... I did walk with my friend in the afternoon, lifted weights in the morning, but I drank WAY too much Saturday night!! Reached maintenance calories but whatever.. One day isn't going to hurt. I actually ate well all weekend so that's a plus. Lots of high-sodium stuff so I'm chugging water today.... This weekend should be pretty low-key as far as drinking... I have a dentist appointment Saturday morning so I'm going to keep drinking to a minimum for sure on Friday. I may drink Saturday night but it won't be anywhere near as much as this past weekend... I'm keeping my cals kinda low, but I'm not really exercising. Aiming for 1300 today and tomorrow... I may go on a walk tonight b/c it's about 80* out.. which is cool! Tomorrow is weights, Wednesday I go back to class. I have a class Thursday too, but I plan to lift weights after class.. Friday I'm going to walk b/c I took the day off...

karey- I tried a Jillian Micheals thing but I wasn't a huge fan.. not sure why, but I just never did it again. I got it on demand so luckily I didn't buy it yet :) I'm pretty bad about shopping too... I guess it's bittersweet that I'm broke b/c otherwise I'd have a lot more clothes!

sherry- awesome job getting that run in!!! That's nice having Columbus Day off! I'm going to take a vacation day Friday and sleep in... can't wait!

carrie- didn't do as much dancing as I wanted :( but I hate crowded bars and it was so stuffy where we were.. could barely move! nice job with the run!
