Hellooooo??? Anybody here anymore?
I have been sick lately... nasty, nasty cold. Started Friday night and it's still haunting me. Haven't been able to exercise and that's driving me nuts. I was really making some good progress on toning up and getting a nice flat tummy. Darn! My husband is sick with a bad cold too. The dog is even sick! I took her to the vet today and she has some really bad allergies... they gave her a shot and some meds. She's chewed the bottoms of her paws raw, poor thing. Hopefully we'll all be better soon!

I'm here just been crazy the last little bit, going to try to get some sort of exercise in at some point, when is the question.
Summer went to the doctor yesterday and they weighed her and she was not happy at all, so at the beginning of the year I'm going to work with her on making better choices, more fruits and veggies less little debbies.....and we are each going to use the elliptical at least 10 minutes each day for her, I know she could do more but I don't want to make alot of major changes at one time, I'm just hoping to help her learn portion control I think it will be the safest way to help her have a healthy life style, I don't want to cause her to have "issues" about eating...it's hard she is only 9.

Saraya- glad to hear from you and glad to see you are making great progress, we have a yoga class here in town but it's already full......
Sherry! I went through the same thing with my daughter when she was 9, she was very heavy and I was very skinny ... it took a few years for us to get to a good place, then I gained weight and she lost, now that she's almost 16 and a Sophmore in high school she's definitely a lot easier to manage when it comes to the eating... she is on Dance Team and they work out a lot and dance a lot but I tell her that the Soda's and the Cheetos aren't helping her, she gets it... they eventually get it and I realize that even though I was very careful NOT to give her a complex at such a young age, she inevitably has to make her own choices through healthy habits or un-healthy habits she has seen me do in the past and in the present... Maybe you can put Summer in a sport? or dance class? this may help her in so many ways... let me know how it goes...
Also btw, you look great! still maintaining so congrats girly!
Karey - Hi there :) I had a bad cold too a few weeks ago... Hope you get over it, what are you stats? what were you doing to get your Tummy flat?? I'm at 143 pounds when I first started on CC I had ballooned from 120 to about 158 pounds so I've been down and maintaining in the 140's for about a year now, still trying to get to my 130's weight... and am determined that this is the month to do it.... I work out about 5-6days a week about an 60-90min, Cardio/Strength and Yoga... plus trying to take a chill from the Vino, that's been holding me back and now getting to a better place with it... cutting way way back until I reach my Weight loss goal(s) ...

Sherry~ Glad to see you're still here! I have been crazy busy lately too... been bouncing back and forth between two work locations and trying to send out x-mas cards and do something for x-mas for my clients too. Keeps me busy. All while trying to recover from my nasty cold... I think it's great you're trying to teach your daughter portion control... my dad always told us when we were little that there were kids starving somewhere and that we should clean our plates. Yeah, I'd say less Little Debbies would be a good thing. Good to teach them when they're younger to like fruits and veggies.
Soraya~ Hi! :) My stats are: just about 5'7" and my goal weight was 135 lbs. I made my goal in mid September (on my b-day!) and have been maintaining that or maybe 1-2 lbs more since. I'm sick now, so I lost a few lbs since Friday and now weigh in at 131.6 lbs as of this am. I started on cc in February at 182+ lbs and my highest weight was 200lbs. Yikes! I'm proud though, I've lost 50 lbs! =)
Congrats on maintaining your weight for the last year! That seems to be the tricky part. I had been working out 5-6 days a week, but started feeling like my body was getting too beat up and not getting enough rest to do it all over again. Lately, I've been striving for 3-4 good workouts a week, about every other day. I think what's been helping get my tummy flat is the dvd workout I've been doing. I do Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred... I use 5lb weights with it and it gives me a good workout and my muscles have been showing more. I think all the squats, push-ups, ab crunchs, etc help a lot. After that, I usually hop on the treadmill and do 30 min or more of intervals of running and going up to a very steep incline and speed walking. I usually do about 1/4 mile of each and then switch. I also try to limit my soda intake, which can bloat the tummy (and I've never had any kids, which I'm sure gives me an advantage). Best of luck on reaching your goals! =)
Karey, I'm a Jillian enthusiast! I don't have 30 day shred, it's always sold out, plus I"m on a budget now so don't want to buy anything new... BUT I got the Biggest Loser Cardio Max and Power Sculpt DVD... Jillian and Bob but especially Jillian kicks my ass!!!! it's an amazing work out, I want to keep doing it until I just get so bored with it... I try to switch it up as much as possible... congrats on the 50pounds!!!! what were your eating habits? did you make a major change to achieve that??? regardless you look great! I am so excited to get to 135! if I focus I know I can drop the 8pounds in a month I just have to focus!!! it's my eating and wine habits, I know what my downfalls are so I'm trying to change it... 130's I'm coming! :)

My eating habits before I lost the weight were horrible... we ate out at buffets all the time and had pizza a LOT. No sense of portion control, really. Not a whole lot of healthy foods either. Needless to say, we've cut out the buffets (except maybe the occasional pizza buffet, lol) and NO McDonald's, etc. I try to eat healthy and portion out all of my meals and snacks. Plus, I exercise. I know you can make it to your 135! You know what your downfalls are, so now you just have to DO IT!! =)
Hey girlies...sounds like I need to get the 30 Day Shred, I have one of her dvd sets and really like it but I think I'll get the 30 Day Shred.....eating has not been real good the last couple of days...I'll do better.
Party yesterday and party tomorrow night.....steak tomorrow and drinking but I think I'm going to be the dd for my husband it's his party..... my party is next week but no major drinking there.

Still sickly today... feel like I want to just die, lol. I'm finally giving in and going to the doctor in a few minutes. I need some medication to make me feel better! This thing has been beating me down for a week already and it doesn't seem to be going away. Haven't exercised in a week, but been eating really healthy (when I can find my appetite, lol).
Hi Ladies, I agree with Karey, Sherry you are partying it up :) ... I used to be on myspace and facebook, got sooo sick of the myspace stalkers and the constant friend requests from strange people - so I deleted both my accounts, I will eventually get one back, maybe....
I broke down and drank wine yesterday, and went a little overboard gonna keep today clean and drink lots of water, haven't been drinking enough of it and may be holding on to water weight... not sure... gonna do my BL dvd's later on...
I know Karey, Jillian kicks my butt... I can't wait to get the Shred DVD...why do you not care for Bob much?
Soraya~ I thought a little wine was supposed to be good for you? Or, do you just drink too much of it? I need to drink more water too... since I've been sick, I've really slacked off on that.
I don't care for Bob very much because he seems kind of like a jerk this season... just the way he comes across to me. It seems like it's a blue team domination lately on there... He's probably not that bad, I just prefer Jillian compared to him. Don't really have a solid reason, I guess.
Oh Karey I understand what you mean, I think it's the Blue Teams' energy though, I was sooo disgusted this season w/that girl Vicki that I couldn't even watch it, she was sooo evil and even after she lost all that weight her attitude and nasty demeanor still makes her look ugly to me, she really brings to the picture, Beauty starts in the inside! ... yuck and boo to her!
I do drink too much wine, but doing much better, I have my days, some days I'm really really good and not drink for like 10days then I'll drink a whole bottle in one sitting while socializing with friends and smoke cigs, it's so habitual and bad for me, but I'm working on everything in moderation... I think the bottle of wine has become my boyfriend now for a few years! it's a love relationship mostly but some morning I wake up and think oh no! did I really do that?! ...

Oh, I know what you mean! I can't stand that Vicki... she's evil. I think the other blue team members are hateful too. I don't like Heba and Ed and don't think they deserve to win either. I'm really hoping that Michelle wins... I think she really deserves it. It's such a cop-out that Ed was telling everyone to vote for Heba... if I was someone who actually voted (I never bother to), I would have called and voted for Ed, just because he said not to. LOL I think the three blue team members are going to end up gaining the weight back too... Heba and Ed still have sooo far to go and Vicki doesn't even like vegetables! Her kid doesn't even eat them! That's just horrible... don't think she's going to last long.
Hey, at least you realize and admit that you drink too much wine! That's half the battle, right? Now you just have to make sure that you don't get carried away with it. :)
Karey girl I know it's a daily battle, some days' are so easy for me and some days are not... I need to learn moderation, that's my problem... anywhoo... so CONGRATS ON THE SIZE 4! That's where my original size and weight started from, it's my healthiest, I am at a tight size 7 now and hoping that w/in the next few weeks get down at least to a size 5/6... I'm working out daily and trying now to focus on not eating late night, and stocking my fridge with veggies and eating lots of apples... :) drinking my water... so How did you get down to your regular size??? what were your diet/exercise goals???
Thanks Soraya! You're almost there! It sounds like you're doing really well... working out and eating veggies and fruits. When I was trying to lose I just eat much healthier, worked out 5-6 days a week for an hour or so and drank a ton of water or green tea. My original calorie goal was 1400/day and then I later bumped it up to around 1800/day. Basically, my goals were just to eat better, exercise as much as my body could handle and recover from, and watch my calories.

Okay sounds like I really need to get this Shred dvd for sure, maybe that can get me through the cold months....we got some freezing rain last night but school is still happening todya, Summer was not happy, I think there will be a few slick spots but nothing bad.

Sherry~ Planning a surprise for your hubby's b-day sounds like fun! Are you doing a surprise party, or just trying to surprise him with a gift? Hopefully you can get the eating on track.
I still am not feeling 100%, but am going to try to get back into the swing of things with my exercising. Going to take the dog for a nice walk (it's hot outside!) and going to try and do my 30 Day Shred dvd or some treadmill later. I can do it, just need to force myself. :)
Got the nice long walk with the dog in and just finished doing my 30 Day Shred dvd. yay! I feel SO much better now that I've been able to actually exercise. My throat and chest feel pretty tight (harder to breathe), and some coughing, but other than that, I survived! LOL
Came across something good at the grocery store this afternoon - 0 calorie, sugar free, fat free chocolate flavored sauce!! Yum! I made No Pudge raspberry brownies and heated one up and poured some of the sauce over it - AWESOME! I also bought some 0 calorie, sugar free, fat free pancake syrup made by the same company. They also make 0 calorie salad dressings, but I haven't tried those yet. Just thought I'd share. ;)

In other news, eating was awesome today... got an "A" and not too much sodium either. ;) Got some exercising in and did my dvd again and a little bit of treadmill.

Anyways... not much new here. Trying to stay focused. Lots of goodies at work lately... trying to ignore them. I've been doing great at having control and not sampling any of them. I feel that if I have a tiny bit I'll lose control and eat a bunch. So, I just stay away from them. Had a very busy and rough day at work today... lots of doggies to get pretty for the holiday. Lots of poopers too! Why do some dogs feel the need to poop and then sit in it? Or to spray it around? Ugh. Had a couple flea ridden ones too and a blind poodle that tried to bite me when I was trying to clip his face. Don't get me wrong, had a couple sweet ones too. It's cute because for x-mas time I give them all a little x-mas treat bag w/goodies and they always get a x-mas bandanna or bows. So cute.
After the day I had I decided to treat myself to some mexican food and allow myself to have a couple small pieces of chocolate. :) I know i burned a TON of calories at work all day, so I deserve it.
That's right Karey! You deserve to treat yourself to an indulgence when necessary ;) How are all the women doing in this group, it's the holiday ... I'm think the year in review health wise has been pretty fascinating for me, I for the first time in a long long time am seeing glimpses of the old me peeking through :) which feels great! at the end of the day that's all it boiled down to, hard work and good eating... wow, what a no brainer I figured out in the year :) Hope everyone is doing fab.
