Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

ugh... i dont know what happened, but my scale read 146 this morning :(  i guess that pretzel really did me in??  plus i wasnt very hungry so i didnt eat my salad... :( so my calories only wound up being about 1049??  ugh... 

congrats Stacey on 138.6 :)  and Uno on not gaining :) thats an accomplishment on the weekend lol..

well daughter is hungry, and we got two new kittens yesterday from the pound, and are getting them use to the house one room at a time, so they are in the diningroom/kitchen area right now, so better go check em out, so hannah will eat and not try to play with them (they are a little skittish..)

don't worry about teh weight. you know as well as anyone that it goes up and down, up and down.  but if 146 is your new high weight--that's not so bad.  just means your low weight will keep dropping, too!
thanks! One of my lower fluctuations! I really focused this weekend so I could keep up my progress and it worked out! Now, onto the same thing this weekend!! One day at a time!

I stuck around the same weight for a week or so... It wasn't so much as a plateu on one specific number... just one general area, so maybe you are going through the same thing right now! You'll get through it!

I love kittens! I have a cat that is living with my mom right now b/c I can't have cats at my apartment :( He loves it there though, so it's ok! Have fun with the kitties!
Just wanted to share something w/ everyone.  I don't know if you've heard about a study they did w/ weight loss and high calcium diets but I'm a firm believer now.  Apparently a high calcium diet (not calcium supplements...has to be in food form) targets fat around the middle.  Yogurt in particular has proven to be the most effective b/c of the cultures in it.  I know Yoplait has been running a campaign about it for awhile.

Anyway, I've been eating at least one serving of yogurt everyday for the past two months and I really can tell the difference.  My stomach is usually the last place I lose my weight.  It's been that way my whole life.  But I swear it looks like the waist I had in the mid 130s. 

Alright, just wanted to share that w/ anyone who hadn't heard about it yet or was doubtful...like I used to be.
Hey srd1214 & unicat I just got off my plateau too that is sooo tough):  I thought it was my time of month but i am early menopausal (36yrs) so I just bloat and shrink at my body's will.  I am using the Curve's plan and when you hit a plateau it suggests going back to 1200 cal.  low carb like 100g. per day, for 1week then jump to 1600 higher carb about 150.  Worked a miracle. 

Kiigan enjoy those kittens. 

I like the point about the fluctuations it makes it easier to deal with looking at it as a lower high than before.  I vary 2lbs throughout the day then I am lower than ever the next morning.  I found out I need food to lose weight though. 1200 calories killed me as soon as I hit 1600 they melt away.  I workout daily that has something to do with it.

Teenwolf- how was your weekend?  Any beers??  I tried really tried, but it is making me sick now.  I fear I may have lost weight and my liking for beer.  Haven't been on lately I was so frustrated not budging last week just up and down.  Just got into size 10- pants woohooo:)  I am so excited. Have you gotten that new mascara yet?  I want to be at 140 by the end of the week.  That will be soooo hard.  Have fun in NYC I am in Jersey!!!!

How bout this I just found out Avocados have been sabotoging my diet!! They are way high in calories and fat (good fat but fat).  I am giving all the rest away!!  Of course I ate one last half for lunch that made for a 500 cal. lunch sandwich OUCH! I could have had a big mac
courtswin4life WOW I love yogurt now I have a reason to eat it.  I have been subsituting it for cereal once in a while but I like to crunch so for those who need the crunch I add about 1/3c. of special k crushed to my yogurt (granola was too high in calories for my goal)  It really is good and gives some UMPH!!  I would mix a beer with it if I could.  The moms at school would love to talk about that one.

mmmm, I love yogurt! What good news that is! I eat a granola bar with mine. I have the Nature Valley Roasted Almond ones. They come in packs of 2, but I just take one out for work every day. One only has 95 calories. Yummy!
thanks Morgan , i am trying not to freak about it, it just bothers me that yesterday i hit my new low of 143.5 then suddenly 146 this morning?? i dont understand what i did wrong (except possibly too low calories, and that pretzel with the high carbs.. )  i am seriously considering going low carb for a week and see what happens..  it will bring my protein up i am sure, but not sure what it will do to my calories, sodium and fat... ugh...

the kittens seem to be doing alright.. the poor little girl (they are brother and sister, both fixed before we got em) had her paw stuck in her collar this morning when i got up, poor baby, so i cut the collar off (it was the paper one they had on her at the pound)...

Courtney - i eat one yoplait yogurt a day, and one activia yogurt a day, i dont know if i see any change in my middle.. well yeah i do, but my middle section seems to be the last one to go anyway (i have lost most of the other areas already, still some of my upper thighs need work, and my upper arms, but the rest looks pretty good).. lol..  so dont know if its from the yogurt or what...

hey mcboddy - could you send me a message outlining more about what you are doing??  and i think i am premenopausal too (i am 36 almost 37) my tom has been pretty off since i had my son and had my tubes tied.. (in 2003)  it would go a few months before i would have it, then  another few months, and now i havent had it since mid august..  and i bloat at my bodys will too..  am due to see the doc in may, so will see then what he says...

okay, got my exercise out of the way for the day, and i think i pulled something in my lower back.. :(  its like midway down the right side of my back, it hurts, :(  i either pulled something, or maybe my gallstones are acting up??  i have had problems with them before, but now i dont know if its them or if i pulled something??   gonna go shower, and try to relax just a little bit before i do my housework, see if it feels any better.. :(

i've read that before about yogurt.  i eat a yoplait light pretty much every single day for a morning snack.  i love them soooo much.  i was eating dannon--but the yoplaits are TONS better--there are bits of fruit in all of their flavors (except the rich and creamy kinds) and so much creamier.  personally, i haven't noticed a huge change in my middle, but my waist is relatively small compared to the rest of my body.  i just have that annoying pooch below my belly button that won't go away! grrr!  i want it to leave before bathing suit season!

p.s. I like yogurt, but don't love it (can't eat a full container before I get tired of it).  Dannon makes these new "light and fit" cups using Splenda--I got a family pack and each one is only 45 calories, so I get all the yummy benefits of yogurt, but in a smaller portion--they are fantastic snacks.
ohh...hope your back's okay brigitte!  good luck getting that massaged out! i like heat packs, myself :) or a good back rub...mmm....

As of yesterday I was 139!!!!! yayayayayayayayayay!  I'm actually in single digit pants sizes!  This is the first time in YEARS!
srd1214 --ouch granola is so high in calorie per real small serving be careful.  I love it too but make sure you are counting the correct quantities.  1/3 cup of Special K is about 36calories and leaves room for better snacks and strong lunch.

unicat --Curves suggests 1200 cal per day for 1 week, NO MORE! BE SMART

45% from protein 135g

30% from carbs 90g

25% from fat 33g

I had trouble getting my carbs down without losing energy,by the end of the week I was cranky but immed. picked up :) when I ate a 1600 cal day.  When you up to 1600cal. 

45% still from protein but that will be 180g

30% from carbs (120g)

25% from fat (45g)

I didn't follow it perfect, but I got close and if one day I went over in calories or carbs the next I was real careful.  It happens!  I also should mention I am always thirsty so drinking 64oz of water is nothing for me, I probably average 1 gallon a day most days. between green tea and water. 

Now my whole family is eating better and we all feel better

FYI my hubbie 6'2" 230 is now a lean mean 219 he looks great!  He started out helping me now he is so into it.  If he only paid attention to ME!

ekathleeng I wish my problem was a yogurt is too big for me!  143lbs and I could eat 5 big macs given the chance. 
so I have this stupid cold w/a headache and for some reason I feel like I should be eating! I'm not hungry or anything, I actually just had a string cheese, but I'm having cravings for something! I'm going to go home and make dinner but I can't figure this out! Kiigan, I know you just got a cold, does this happen to you?? ugh... I'm making chicken noodle soup for dinner with salad and a baked potato... yum. Or I may make tuna salad. I'm going to eat a grapfruit too to help this dumb cold... ugh... I think I can last till I leave... but the vending machine sounds so tempting right now! I already had some tea today and I think that helped a little... this stinks!
The granola bars I get are a pretty decent, filling size and 1 package has 2 bars, and 190 calories for both, so the one bar is only around 100. I've been eating them for a while and that is also the only granola that I eat. I should try the special K, that is a good idea!
rinzy--congrats on the single digit pants and breaking 140! i've got one pair of size 8 pants from express that i LOVE.  plus they're a little baggy unless i JUST washed them :)

stacey--i like to eat when i get colds too. it's EXACTLY the same. this weekend was okay because i was working the whole time so couldn't be constantly eating. but when i'm at home--i really struggle with it.  stay strong!!!
ugh.. okay i tried to figure out a "simple" menu for me to eat tomorrow, to go with the "curves" way.. this is what i came up with.. but its only like 1094 calories??  and the grams for each arent quite right.. :(  ugh.. i dont think i would be very good at this lol..

I like the special k idea, too.  I usually eat a "clif" bar for breakfast--a little more energy and fiber than your usual granola bar. 

mcboddy--I certainly can eat my fair share (I love double cheeseburgers from wendy's with and extra piece of cheese--they are my biggest temptation : )  There's just something about yogurt that makes me stop wanting to eat it half way through, not sure why.  A cup of grapes is still my favorite snack--62 calories!

I'm currently at 150.5 and counting (averaging about 2 lbs. loss a week).  My highest was 173 and my goal is 130.  I'd like to make it to 140 by May 12th when I go on my (belated) honeymoon cruise!  Hopefully, I'll come back from the trip without gaining too much.  We're planning to be really active while we're gone...

Ohh, Srd - been there.. Try your best to fill up on healthy stuff.. I know what its like to eat though you're not hungry.. I always do that when Im not well.

Has anyone tried the special K protein bars ? I got some that are 110 calories per pack with 4 g protein. Well, I got them mainly for when I get a sweet craving ..

brigitte--my one comment about your menu is that it is SERIOUSLY lacking in fiber.  you should have about twice as much.  you seem to be eating a lot of cheese--could you maybe get protein in another source like tofu? not that tofu has fiber...but cheese has cholesterol in it

eka--that's great that you have such a good goal to work towards.  it'd be awesome if you're able to go on your honeymoon feeling great!
