140/130 club

Quote  |  Reply
Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

Hi everyone :) I fell off the message board wagon but I'm back again!  It seems like everyone's doing so well.. trying new things, reaching goals etc and that is SO SO refreshing to read! Things here have been hectic..I did get that job I interviewed for, and as of today, week 3 weight in, I've reached 143.5 for a total of 7 lbs down.. I started to burn out a little bit but I think Im back for the long haul.. and so glad to be back on here with all of you!  All the best!
We made icecream in class today--nothing beats homemade!  It's so rich, my lips were greasy from alll the cream--yummm! ;)

So I'm going to be a good girl and ride my bike like a maniac so I can burn off the dang icecream, and I guess I better log it too!

I need a nap!
Take it easy everyone!
Dee
i did it :) i took a day off exercising and got right back into it this morning :) yay me :)

pretty - see it is going down :) and how funny about the chicken :) lol

stacey, i probably could of made better choices at taco bell yesterday, but i got the nachos bell grande and the taco supreme lol.. and i have never had coldstone, but boy do they look yummy.. lol..

hi dharma :) i have been fluctuating between 143 - 147 for the past 3 weeks... driving me crazy lol.. but am sure it will start going down and staying down more soon...   my goal is 135 (down from 208 :) ) so i am just totally frustrated with how slow this last ten (or so) are coming off lol..

morning carabo :) i am going to keep on keeping on lol..  i wont give up :)

wb lily :) 143.5 how awesome :) and i know what you mean by burn out.. lol..

dee - burn that ice cream off :P no napping :P

gotta go do some running with the family.. and that function tomorrow, but i will be around on the weekend i am sure, if anyone else is.. lol..  i just "love" talking to myself lol..  when monday comes i am ready for everyone here to be back lol..
hey welcome all!

that was so funny about the chicken--i started laughing at my desk.  your protein numbers must've been pretty high too! lol.

stacey--i can't even eat one of the small sizes.  my mom and i sometimes split one and that's PERFECT for me. i just can't eat that much ice cream anymore. although i did just polish off my shake! yummy!

good to see you posting dharma! i'm really similar to you. i'm between 5'4" and 5'5", at 141-ish pounds (right now), 22, and looking to get to around 135.  once i hit that then i'm goign to focus on just making my body LOOK the way i want it to--not focus on losing weight as much.  still trying to get my body to look the way i want...but it's an uphill battle :)

welcome back lily! glad to hear that you're ready to get back into the groove! taking time off can be really beneficial though, so good job recognizing that you needed the time

yum for homemade icecream. my family used to make it when i was little--once my dad forgot to add the sugar.  that was interesting, to say the least :)

sorry unicat--but i don't log on much on weekends :) enjoy all your running!

my DQ shake was SOOOO yummy.  but you know--now i won't need one for QUITE a while :) i think i kind of prefer the smoothies that i make myself at home. i tried a mango-strawberry one with vanilla protein powder last night..and it wasn't bad...but not that impressive either :(
I got this low cal Aioli (garlicky mustard sauce) from Trader joes.. and its made my carrot consumption sky-rocket :D..

Yay for TJ's.. They have a LOT of low calorie healthy sauces, dips and crunchy fresh veggies..

WTG Unicat.. :) I love your determination..WTG!!

Kii - you've given me an idea.. Im going to try a strawberry smoothie with some soybean powder.. I generally just eat the soybean powder as is - made into a paste with little water. No it doesnt taste as good as Soy can, since its unflavored and unsweetened, but I have a liking for soy/tofu and the likes.. Adding strawberries may give it some flavor plus not add many calories/ sodium etc..
i would imagine that it would taste A LOT better with some strawberries :)  we dont' have trader joe's around here :(
Yes :D @ a LOT better.. dunno why it didnt strike me to mix something fruity with it before.. Probably because I'm shockingly lazy and avoid all the extra "cooking" I can :D
I'm new here. Been hanging around silently for about 2 weeks and finally decided to post some things on message boards. About a year ago I was my heaviest - 149. I have been up and down a bit, but in the past two weeks I've made it back into the 130's! 141 to 138. My goal is to get to the 120's eventually, but if I can just get under 135 I'd be really happy.
congrats frogdancer on your loss :) good luck on the rest :)

well i am down this morning, from 146.5 to 145.... but not going to get excited over it as i still have today to get through lol..  but hey at least its lower, so if i eat the wrong stuff it wont be toooooo bad lol.. maybe??  hopeful thinking??  getting ready to do my taebo now...  so will be back later...

Hey everyone!  I think I'm finally over my cold...thank goodness!  I was really miserable there for awhile and despite doing no activity and eating more than I think I should have...I'm down to 140.8 lbs!!  Since I don't have a scale at my place, I have to walk to my friend's apartment everytime I want to weigh myself.  I can't be consistent w/ the times as I have to work around her schedule so I'm never certain how accurate the reading is.  For example, I weighed myself this evening and the previous time I weighed-in during the morning.

So I'm not sure if I lost the weight before my cold or during or both! I just want to make sure it doesn't come immediately back on.  I'm sooo close to breaking the 140 barrier!!

Srd- I'm a sucker for the cake batter and brownie as well.  My mouth watered when i read your post!  Thank goodness there's no cold stone here or I might have gone straight out to buy a cup!

Good job on the weights ladies!  Keep up the hard work!
yay courtney :) wtg :)
I am up 1.5 lbs today. I ate some ice cream yesturday that I shouldn't have.....I just finished running a mile and then walking another mile. I did some abs and I hope I am down in the morning. I did go get a manicure and pedicure yesturday and t  was awesome! It was a treat for myself...then I went and ruined it with the ice cream. Oh Well....a new day is here!! Good luck to everyone else!! Have a good sunday!!
sarah its ok.. that 1.5 lbs will come off quick i am sure :)  and your treat was nothing, check out my latest journal entry..  i am up 3.5 lbs today to 148.5 from 145 yesterday... (i am sure some of its water)...  so dont get frustrated :)
Good afternoon everyone!!!  Back from vacation and ready to get back to work  : - )

Did the weigh in this morning, not too bad or good.  Looks like 2-3 pounds for the entire week.
yay vicki :) did you have a good trip ??  2 - 3 lbs isnt bad :) you can get to work and get that right back off :) and if you enjoyed your trip then it was well worth it i am sure :)
hi everybody!

Well it was a fun-filled-high-calorie weekend. I am NOT going to beat myself up. I did absolutely no counting, a TON of cooking and plenty of eating. There was filet, wine, martinis, potatos, pie, cake, quiche, french toast... We had company for the weekend. 6 people stayed with us and I cooked up a storm. There was NO way I wasn't going to eat it. But I snuck away yesterday and worked out for over an hour, ran 2 miles.

I hope to get in some cardio tonight too and get back to counting and being good tomorrow morning. Wish me luck - next weekend is bathing-suit-all-the-time... waterpark with the kids for spring break. UGH!

Gotta say - these high-calorie foods and upping the carbs causes my stomach great pain so I guess that's good! Hope everyone had a good weekend.
hi everyone!!  i'm back from my NY trip, which was FABULOUS!!!  NYC was amazing.  i felt so comfortable and right at home.  it was way different than our usual trips to foreign countries, so much easier to get around!!

well, as you all probably remember, i was super worried about being bad in New York.  my goal was really to maintain there, not to create a defecit, as it was vacation after all!!!  first off, i did so much walking it was unbelievable!  i brought my pedometer and we usually got around 20,000 steps a day and my feet hurt by the end of each day, so i'm sure i burned TONS of calories.  we went on a few runs as well in central park.  wow, i loved those runs so much! that is one beautiful park and the scenery and the paths change so much.  if we were walking instead of running, we wouldn't have seen nearly as much of the park.  and another day we rented bikes and biked all over the park ... so fun!!

i counted calories for the first 3 days, then stopped counting and decided to just try and do my best to be good and get work outs in because it was getting too much in the way of doing stuff.  i estimate that i probably went about 200 over my maintenence each day, monday through friday.  all in all it's not horrible.  that's 1000 over for the week, which i can easily make up for and then some this week!  so, fabulous time and no harm done!

i weighed myself this morning and was 146.  that's one pound higher than when i left.  but with the amount we ate out (every meal), i'm sure my sodium intake was sky high, so i'll give it a few days before actually assessing my weight.  strangely, i feel like my body is a little smaller, so it is possible i even lost weight on the trip.  i was definately burning tons of calories 'cause i was starving for every meal ... always a good sign! :)

anyway, just wanted to check in with everyone and let you know i'm back!  i hope you all had a great week and it looks like everyone's lost some pounds - whoo!!!  april, here we come! ;)
Teenwolf- I'm so impressed that you fit in workouts during your vacation!  Good for you!

On a similar note, I'm leaving for Italy on Wednesday and I won't be back for 10 days.  I want to continue losing but I've set a goal of just .5 - 1 lb.  I'm hoping that all the walking I'm going to do (some w/ a huge pack on my back) will help fight all the delicious gelato and carbonara I'll be eating.

Here's to good eating and exercising this week!
This is a frustrated post. I have lasted longer on this diet then I ever have and am closer to my goal weight than I ever have been (only four more pounds). All of the sudden it has been so hard to stick with it, I don't understand why, when I am this close. To top it off I have not lost anything in the last week and a half, which makes me want to give in even more. Tomorrow is a new week and I am going to start fresh!! Anyone have any suggestions of what you do when you hit a rut?

Thanks everyone!!!
jenniferdiane - i agreee with you, i am not beating myself up over this weekend.. i got to spend some quality time with my hubby and my kids, and while i overate, and my body itself is beating me up for it, i will be okay.. just get right back into the correct groove tomorrow :)

teen congrats on only gaining one lb in your week of fun :)

courtney i am sure you will do just as well as teen did :) and enjoy your trip :)

prdmommy - i agree the closer you get to goal, the harder it gets, i have been so frustrated with my weight the last 3 weeks.. it has fluctuated between 143.5 and 148.5 (Todays weight)... i soooooo have to get back on track..  i WILL lose the rest of this weight...

on a bright note, to all my binging, i had to get a new ID on friday because the gate guards were giving me sooo much trouble about my id not looking like me :)  lol.. not only have i lost a lot of weight since that other id was taken, but i also dyed my hair from blonde more towards my natural haircolour, lol..  so yeah i needed a new one :)
