Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's. We can all use support. Today I am focusing on all the food groups. Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30. A Super long day. I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.
SRD - I definitely know what you're going through with the weight up and down. Last week I was 141 on Monday, and by Friday I was 148. On Saturday it even said 147 the first time I stepped on it! (I didn't believe it so I weighed myself again and it was 148.) But this morning it said I was back up to 140. I think that with all the binging during the weekend I retain a lot of water and it seems like within a few days of hydrating and cutting back on the alcohol and salt I get down to whatever my actual weight is.
I hope by the end of this week it's down to 145! Though i doubt it. I've already strayed today and had grilled cheese for lunch. I've been taking a small amount of tuna with some light mayo and putting it on crackers for lunch. It gives me my protein and fulfills my salt cravings. But the mayo I know is just horrible calorie-wise. Anyone have an idea of what else to add other than may to make the tuna tolerable? I love tuna, but the canned stuff plain is not so tasty.
Here's to staying on the diet for the rest of the night!

man, sure was a lot of reading to catch up on.
unicat - vacation was great and it was worth the extra pounds, couldn't resist the desserts on the ship, plus the alcohol.... but back to work now!!!!!
teenwolf - NYC is so fascinating, so much going on. Glad to hear you had a good vacation too.
off to the eliptical I go, and try out some new dvd's I received while on vacation, the slim in 6..

Welcome back Teenwolf and Vcooper... hope you guys are having a great time back!
Thanks for the weighing scale recos..I want something with a stepping plate big enough for my husband's feet too :D.. His toes kept sticking out of the stepping board on my old one. So I'm taking him along this evening and making him stand on all the weighing scales in the store :D That may be an easy way to screen weighing scales :D...

Now, I just need to speed up my time!!
vcooper: Keep me informed on the slim in 6, I am hearing some good things about it...just wanted to see what you think!

i think you loook just maaaaaahhhhhvelous dear :) your waist line looks smaller, and your thighs too i think (may be the difference in pants?? but i think they look smaller, or maybe more toned?)
OK, I just found you guys today. These past 10-15 pounds have been the biggest hurdle to get over. I was about 185 (5'6") from my teens until my late 20's when I joined the Peace Corps and most of it fell off. No diet -just lots of walking and no processed foods. Well, I' 41 now and have straddled between 135 -150. This am 138 I'd love to be 130 but I saw that only once in my life (bad break-up.) So, finally I decide to give ww a try. The main thing that it is helping me with is portion control. I can eat a TON! I do exercise, ran 8 miles on Sat., 8 miles on Sun. and a rest day pilates today. So, I have been going up 2 lbs. down 2 lbs. for the past several weeks. HELP!! I drink about 80 oz. of water a day and try and stay at about 1400 cal/day. Ideas? Inspiration?? It is comforting to know thta there are others like me in the same boat.
good morning!
kiigan- WTG!! very exciting to see that number for the first time!
pretty- great job on the outside mile! I'm not much of a runner, but I can't imagine that being too easy for your first time out!
messam- you look great! keep up the good work!
it sounds like everyone is doing really great!!
welcome Cathy! Holy running! That's a lot of miles to accomplish! :) Good job! Have you tried raising your calories at all? Maybe with all that exercise you're getting, there aren't enough calories for your body to successfully burn? I'm not really very good at figuring out the plateu secret, I'm right there with you! :)
I weighed in this morning at 139.6. Still floating around 139-ish but hopefully adding weight lifting in to my workout will help the scale move a little more. I did weights last night for the 3rd time. It went well! I really enjoyed it!

Hey all! Just wanted to share some good news -
I got on the scale this morning and it said 132.4!!!!! My goal is 132 - I can't believe it! I keep looking in the mirror and thinking - is this a girl who really weighs 132 pounds? It is so cool. I am almost at my goal weight - but when I reach it, then what? I mean, I know I should maintain, but it is going to be weird. Is 132 the perfect weight for my body? I am not sure - I have been lower, once, and I was around 115. I did NOT like how I looked - I thought I was gross, and it was bad for me. I want to stay far away from those numbers, so I guess that is why I am stopping at 132. It is right in the middle of the healthy BMI range for my age and height. So I don't know - what do I do? haha this is great though, I am really excited. I should reward myself somehow when I reach my goal but I never really thought about it - any suggestions?

great job not cheating dj! Maybe I can do that today... yesterday I had a bag of elfin crackers... yummy... like animal crackers but way better! I made room in my calories for them, but very high in sugar. Here's to a new day with no cheating!
awesome job ashmar!!! wtg!!! I'm very excited and happy for you! If you feel good at 132 then stop there and maintain! It's your call for how comfortable and confident you feel! I was going to try to get to 130 but now at 139 I realize that I'd be happy at 135. It is all how you feel about yourself to determine what fits you best! It's very great that you know what you don't want so now you can maintain what you do want! :)
I'm going shorts shopping when I reach my goal :) Maybe treat yourself to a massage for all your hard work!

I need some motivation, cannot get back on the work out trail..... I had every excuse in the book last night not to workout!!!!! tired, headache, pains....etc. down to 140.5 this morning.
pretty-congrats on that first mile! very exciting!!! i find it A LOT easier to run outside than on a treadmill--i think the changing scenery and not having huge numbers telling me how long i've been going make it a lot easier :)
welcome cathy! i echo everyone else--try increasing how much you're eating. a lot of the time it can help rev up your metabolism--and it may be that your body just isn't getting enough to sustain 8 miles of running (did i mention hot dam* on all that running?).
good to hear you're still enjoying the weights, stacey!
congrats ashmar! i say evaluate how you look and feel. are you comfortable there? maybe start to focus on really developing your muscles so that you look really sleek and strong and don't worry so much about the scale. but if you're happy where you are--then just maintain and stay active! and definitely go shopping or get a manicure or a massage or something. hitting goal weight is DEFINITELY worth a celebration :)
my weight didn't go down this morning :( but it's probably because of the 1/2 chimichanga that i ate between my low weight yesterday afternoon and this morning, LOL :) everyone told me it was SOOOO good, and then it said "deep-fried tortilla" and i was like...uhhh....and my b/f said "you just went for a run. just get it". so i did! :) but i ate less than half and gave him the leftovers to eat :) it WAS really delicious though :) but here's to a good diet today *raises coffee mug*
also...someone brought in those really yummy cream cheese pastries from a local bakery...those things are my favorites... :( boo! but i also got in a GREAT workout this morning. did all legs for my strength training. they were tired, but not as tired as they could've been, so i think i need to push a little bit harder next time!

v--it can be really hard to get going again :) just make yourself go for a walk or something. or else decide to give yourself a little treat--like watch a movie--only AFTER you do your workout
messam you look great! i think the outfit you're wearing in your "now" picture really slims you down, too. your legs look a lot slimmer--i'd agree.
v- when I start feeling unmotivated I'll just put my workout clothes on one at a time for like 20 minutes. lol. Then I'll promise myself 20 minutes of workout then I'm like, I already got this far, I might as well keep going! But the hardest part for me is getting off my butt and into my workout gear! After that I feel a little more motivated to go. Also, if I feel achy, I'll do an easy workout so something is still accomplished even if it is little! :)
So I noticed that Taylor and healthometer were two scales that people liked. Any others out there? I used to have a digital, but it was wildly unreliable.
Hey I'm down 2 pounds since yesterday! I'm hoping the plateau is officially over. I'm annoyed with my body b/c the weight is leaving from my upper half, but I swear nothing is budging on the bottom. I have a very small waist now and my boobs are shrinking. OMG! I liked my boobs! And if my waist gets any smaller I'm going to look ridiculous! Really! I wish I could redistribute things here.
Cathy - I'm a runner too. Getting over an injury at the moment. You're an inspiration at 8 miles. I'm working my way back up to five right now. Have you every considered running a marathon? That's my dream goal.

frog, I don't weigh myself if I've eaten a lot the day before be/c it shows on the scale and it's definitely discouraging.
