Anyone in this grouping looking to drop from 140 to 130's.  We can all use support.  Today I am focusing on all the food groups.  Exercise would be good, but I won't be able to since I am working from 9 to 10:30.  A Super long day.  I hope I can stay focused, when I pass the fast food chaines on my travels today.

the only protein drink i use is slimfast high protein.. its already mixed in a can, doesnt taste bad, and i chug it.. COLD....  after i exercise...
i already left you a book in your journal, so i won't go into more here :) but it's a really good thing to have after you exercise to help rebuild your muscles.

lily--i don't know if i could live in AZ though. i think it might get too hot for me, LOL :)  i hate that bloated feeling :( it's so icky! hope the weigh in goes well, though

stacey--too bad about not being able to log on :( just make sure to keep up with your journal and let us know how breaking that plateau feels! :)

brigitte--have fun going out on the town! that should be fun in hawaii :) not so fun here! LOL :) until you get to the bar, that is :)

my b/f is lucky cuz he's one of those guys that is just naturally thin. he HAS put on weight since we've been dating--but still looks pretty skinny.  but i'm okay with him gaining weight because he's still only like, 165 and he's 5'11".  when we started dating, i weighed more than him, but now our situation is solidly reversed and i am MORE than okay with that :)


hi all!  just checking in. :)  yesterday i did the video with the resistance bands and it was awful ... WAY to easy!  i can't figure out what to do with this bands!!  maybe i will return them after all since one video is too easy and the other is too hard - SUCK!

kiigan, i've never been a bean pole either. :(  i keep trying to think of when i last looked like this (i think a little over 2 yrs ago) and why i wasn't happy with it or doing something about it then!  ugh, only when it suddenly clicks do we suddenly start doing something about the problem i guess.  i was thinking about the people i'm going to hang out with this weekend.  all teeny tiny girls.  i don't know what has motivated them to work out their whole lives.  it amazes me that people can never see themselves fat and still realize that working out is sooo important and if they don't do it they might get fat.  how was this missing from my programming?

as for looking in the mirror at myself, i'm feeling seriously vain lately! hahaha  my hubby will walk in and there i am looking in the mirror. LOL!!  it's kinda embarassing, but it's so astonishing!  it's like when you get a new haircut and can't stop checking yourself out, but this is my BODY, something i thought i could never really change.

kiigan, i LOVE gin & tonics.  unf, i don't think they're low-cal enough!  alcohol should be cal-free, i think! :D  (i wish!)  i'm sure i'm going to drink quite a few of them tonight.  we're going to a party tonight 'cause a friend of mine is here from out of town, can't wait, it'll be a BLAST!  but not so good on my counting. :)  hmm, jello-shot girl will be there as well ... do you know how many calories in a jello-shot (not sugar free, i'm sure)?  if you say zero, i'll believe you! ;)

vcoop - keep up the good work, numbers dropping is ALWAYS good! :)  i can't believe you used to be 105!! you must have been TINY!!  and after having a baby, oh my!

unicat - great job, WAY TO GO!!! 143 is fantastic!  i hope to be chasing RIGHT behind you! :D

i'm with srd, my hubby can handle way more food than me, otherwise i wouldn't do it.  my hubby is 6'4" ... he can handle a bit more than my shorty self, i think that's part of what got me into this mess.  i thought, he's eating it, he looks great, why shouldn't i?  big mistake!

srd - suck!  i hate limited internet access.  i NEED it! :)  at least you can get on three times a day!

kiigan - LOL!!  beware of fridays at work!  they are food days!  (except for my work 'cause everyone works from home on fridays and the place is dead).

i've never tried a protein drink.  that just screams big huge muscular men and tons of calories to me, is it really a good idea?  i'll check out what kiigan wrote in vcoops journal.

sorry about being all over the place, but i'm just responding as i read. :)  today i weighed in at 144!  WHOOHOO!!  i broke the 145 barrier, it took a couple weeks, but i did it!  hopefully it keeps on dropping! :)  otherwise, i'm off to mail my tax returns (need that refund!) and going for a hike with a friend, which will be followed by mad partying - whoo!!

Vcooper- you should definitely buy some form of protein and take it regularly if you are not already..

Kiigan :)- you must have a lot of willpower! First the brownie, now the ice-cream :).. Way to go! I have no idea how I'd behave if I had ready access to such treats..

Lilywingz- that is one kick-ass routine!!! 512 in half an hour!! My fastest burn rate on the elliptical is around 11 cals/ min and it is not very sustainable. So I optimally burn around 300- 350 in half an hour.. You must tell me how you do it and especially how you worked up to it..

Srd- I'll definitely catch up with you on your journal..

are there protein drinks that are around 150 calories?  i can't imagine giving up more than that many calories.  also, do you have to drink them right after you work out?  i usually work out at night, before dinner so that wouldn't work for me since i'd then be full at dinnertime.  any suggestions?
And I'm a bit jealous of all of you gals who'll enjoy a drink tonight..:).. I think I'm gonna be stuck at home studying.. Maybe I'll convince hubby to join me for a glass of wine.

I love margaritas- but was shocked at how many calories they have!
hmmm teen, the slimfast high protein one is 190 calories..  and yes you drink it right after you work out, because the reason you are drinking it,is to feed those muscles you have just broke down so they can rebuild...

yup, 105 lbs..... I laugh when I see pictures now and remember how hard it was to buy clothes.

Carabo-elliptical-wise, I am up to level 8 for 15 mins, then level 9 (in manual mode) for the 2nd 15 mins.. maintaining 80 rpms or higher.  It's super hard.. this is new for me this week.. I was doing 15mins at level 5 then 15 at level 6 for a while which got me anywhere between 450-475 cals per half hour.  When I first started with the elliptical (i was substantially heavier then, so I started really easy) I was doing 15 mins only, 5 good intensity (staying in fat-burn mode in terms of heart rate but not going too slow), then building up to 5 mins as fast as I could go (highest intensity), then 5 mins of the first intensity.  One day, i felt like I could keep up the intensity for 6 mins.. then 7.. then it became a game lol.  I get bored easily, so without some kind of mini challenge, I get off track.  It's funny.. some may look at what I just typed and think it's impossible (others i am sure think it's a cake walk haha.. not me).. but it's amazing what our bodies are capable of doing and how much our bodies will work with us if we let them.  I ellipticalled away 56 lbs haha..(well actually 70 but got off track lol).

In terms of high protein drinks etc.. I like the Advant-edge chocolate fudge and french vanilla.  They have around 20 grams of protein and 100 calories, 3g fiber and Im pretty sure only 1 or 2 of sugar.  They're not super filling, but they do their job.. and at 100 cals.

hey everyone--thanks for sharing all the info about your workout routines and drinks and such.  I forget sometimes that I might end up in a rut and it's nice to hear about new ideas.

The scale went up to 146.5 this morning, but it probably has something to do with being back in a normal eating routine again.  I hadn't slept in almost 24 hours after my conference and I am sort of feeling all of it now.  Nonetheless, I'm feeling really good about my new weight.  Hopefully I don't hit a plateau soon--my goal is still 140 by May 12, and I would really like to hit 135.

I'm having the pants fitting problem, too!  I have always worn slightly loose fitting khakis and such to work, and when I put them on last week, they literally could come off without unbuttoning them.  It's a great feeling (though I don't have the cash to replace my whole pants wardrobe).  Unfortunately, my bras don't fit anymore either : (

lol i have to watch my pants around my son, cos he will grab me by my pants, and if i dont grab the top of them quick enough they will go down...     oooooops... lol...
yup its the weekend lol..  okay so yesterday i wound up eating enough calories to be JUST below what i burned, so no huge deficit for me, AND my sodium level was skyhigh.... so i gained 1.5 lbs..  144.5 this morning...  its okay, i am going to make sure i drink plenty of water and watch what i eat today... not sure if i am going to exercise or not.. havent really decided, i am probably due to take another day off, so trying to decide if i wanna exercise today and TRY to sleep in tomorrow morning, as i am already up early this morning (although i did sleep an extra 20 minutes??  my body woke me up, not my alarm clock)....i think i will exercise today, and let tomorrow be my rest day... just gonna do the biggest loser workout, no weights, and see how that goes..  hope everyone is having a wonderful saturday, i guess i am gonna have to drag all 3 kids to walmart so i can get some kitty litter and kitty food, later...  yipppeee...  
Good morn' to all.. I actually made it online on a Saturday... a first, for sure!  Anywayyyy.. I've been wearing super baggy guys jeans  so I wouldnt know when I gained weight haha...I promised myself when I hit 140 I'd go to the store and try on these shorts I've been eyeing if for no other reason that to know what size Id be in..

So the big news... much to my utter surprise, (and after avoiding the official weigh in yest), the scale read 140.5 this morning! I was elated.  Despite TTOM, I still managed to knock 2.5 off... it got me through what otherwise would have been a lackadaisical workout today, too.. which is good in case I end up going out later and need the cals back.. Next goal... cross the 140 barrier... I hope that one comes this coming week!

Congrats to those having pants problems lol... what do you do when you lost the weight and have to buy a new wardrobe on a very tight budget?? hmm..

Okies.. enjoy your Saturday everyone and keep up the good work!  I'm off to the malllllllllllllll!!! Didnt think that was on today's agenda.. but it is now :)

i have avoided buying new clothes as long as possible til i absolutely HAVE to buy em.. lol.. 

think walmart is having an egg hunt today, hopefully i will get my kids up there in time to do it :) they will love that...
lily - wow, that is amazing eliptical one heck of a workout.

unicat - I too have put off buying some clothes - I want to lose 10 more pounds at least, that is my reward  NEW CLOTHES.

I played soccer last night, and my husband went - he commented after the game how much better I was playing and how he noticed the difference in my weight. He had not seen me play in about a month.  He told me I looked "Svelty" inside joke, but I knew what he meant.  Made me feel good!!!
yay vicki :) its great to get compliments from the hubby :) really makes you feel good :)  yeah i wanna get to my goal weight before i buy anymore clothes :)
well its almost noon here, and i am still working on my second bottle of water... :( dont know why i am having such a hard time drinking it like the last week.. :(

took the kids to walmart, let em do the egg hunt.. cole was in the 2-4 yr old group.. and he found a silver egg :) so he was SUPPOSE to get an easter basket..   i know before we went in to hunt they had baskets set out for each group... but when we got up there to get his, there werent any baskets for the 2-4 yr old group..  appparently somebody shopping snagged them to buy?? or stole em.. so they wound up "creating" a gift bag for the my son and the other little boy who found the gold egg.. and my daughter who is 5 had fun running around  looking for eggs... not sure if she actually really gets it yet or not, and some rude little girl kept grabbing them out of her hand as she would pick em up.. rude i tell ya :P
