okay all, my day is half over and I have spent all of it working, taking a break for this little message. Need to motovate today to reach the 45 minutes treadmill goal. anybody else unmotovated today?
Ok here we go...
Height: 4'11" (I was 5'4", but Osteoporosis got me, and a few other bone/joint/muscle diseases).
Age 58
Current weight: 216 (as of today)
Goal weight I would be happy with 140 ...the idiot doc says 110.
Highest was 239 about 6 weeks ago.
Lowest ever weight was 132 (and that followed a 2 year struggle with IBS back in 1982. My normal has always been around 150-160
Now I have many health problems and I am unable to exercise, but I am going try walking to the end of the block. I think anything is better than nothing.
I have tried all my life to lose weight...and this time I am going to let God help me too.

Great for You sandybreanna!
My friend who I will call "sue" this isn't her real name. was over 300 pounds and 5'2. she has lost 50 pounds since May of last year and she has bad knees. I asked her what she did and she told me that sitting and moving her arms and twisting at the waist at first, when she lost a little weight her knees were a little better and she drinks lots of water, she also said that she walked a little with her grandbabies now, but not that much because of her knees.
I'd love for you to be my buddy!!!! and you make the third one willing to commit with the numbers!!! I am so glad that I have you and swtiris. Thanks you [hug]
what can you do? can you weigh in each week, keep track of your exercise time? You have inspired me today.

Hey...
I dont have comparatively that much to lose, but those last 10 lbs are killing me!

I love the idea of being accountable on this post for what I do each day...that way I'll actually do it!!
Height: 5'
Current weight: 113
Goal weight: about 103ish (whatever looks good)
Highest weight: 140

summer_fairy, you're right the last 10 are the hardest. welcome aboard. What have you done today?
I did my goal of 45 minutes on the Treadmill and I had chicken and fresh veggies for dinner, that makes two goals for today met.
my goal for tomorrow is another 45 minutes. Anyone else wanting to put down a daily goal? I would also like to throw out a challenge.   ; The daily goals are for me personally but a challenge is for all that read. My challenge is the 8, eight ounces of water in a day. Water is hard for me. I have even tried flavored water and it isnt' that good. &nbs p; So I throw that challenge out, and welcome any other challenges.

I definitely want in!!!!! I definitely understand how one pound on our little frames actually feels and looks like 5 on someone else... grrrrrr
I am 5'1" (when I wear a ponytail on the top of my head..LOL)
current weight 113
goal weight- 105ish.. though I am trying to pay more attention to body fat percentage than weight...
These last ten pounds are kicking my butt! (and that aint pretty because there is plenty to kick).... but I am determined to lose this weight by my 35th b-day! I am done having my children and it is time to "take back my body!"
I would love to have a buddy to do this with and would love to be there to support anyone in their pursuit of their own goal, no matter how much you have to lose!
:)

Heck yeah! Age 25, 5'2", 197 lbs. Final goal is 119, immediate goal for Easter is 195. (goal for June 22: 175.)
hey ladies!
Thought I would give you a little inspiration.
Height: 5'1"
highest weight: 252 pounds (january 21, 2005)
current and lowest ever weight: 134.6 pounds (this morning)
When I started in 2005 my goal was to be 200 lbs. I knew I was losing weight but didn't get weighed again until February of 2006. I weighed 171 pounds. 81 pounds in 12 1/2 months :) Of course this also means the loss slowed down alot after ward but I have remained consistant and have surpassed my goal of 140 pounds which is consisdered the upper end of the acceptable range on those ding-bat height weight charts at the doctor's office. My current body fat percentage is 19.5% or so which is consisdered good or ideal on the charts.
All this being said I have two parting thoughts.
1. Keep at it! It takes time but you can reach your goals if you stick to your guns.
2. Health and beauty don't always look or sound the way you think they might. 5'1" tall, 135 pounds, size 8 pants sounds heavy to many people. If you saw me out in the world you might say' "hey, there is a girl who is 10 pounds away from her goal weight" But if you asked me i would say, "Though it may seem otherwise, this is MY version of a Rocking Hot body!!"
Go forth into the world and be healthy! Good luck finding your version of the ideal shape and size!

Hi, please count me in too!
Height: 5'
Start weight: 128 pounds
Current weight: 122 pounds
Goal weight: 105 (also depending on what feels and looks good)
For the longest time I was under the false impression that the less you ate the more weight you lost. I started this diet about a month ago. I cut my daily calorie intake to about 500-700 a day...I know, very unhealthy...but I lost 5 pounds in a week! LOL, after plateauing at that weight I realize it was all water retention and I wasn't getting any skinnier. As you can tell, I'm still trying to get the hang of this "calorie balance" thing...
I think this support group is awesome tho!! We can do it ladies!

I'm in. I have been looking for some support for a long time and now I hope I have it. I come from a really thin family on my dad's side. I mean he is a personal trainer. I was in good shape in high school and I could eat what I wanted. When I got out of high school I continuded to eat EVERY THING I wanted. Well, Here I am 6 years and 40 pounds later.
Age: 24
Height: 5'2"
Current Weight: 168
Starting weight: 186
Goal weight: 130
Wish me luck guys. I am a curvy girl. I think my ideal weight is 119 or something like that. But I have been a 36D since I was 13 and in great shape. I want to lose the weight but keep the feminine figure.

I think it's harder with a bigger bust. I mean we have to account for that and lose even more weight. I have had a big bust since I was 13 too and was quite the stand out in school. even at my thinest I've always had a big bust, and it has always made me feel uncomfortable, thought about reduction.
bTW, just got done mowing the lawn, how many calories did I burn there. it took about 15 mins.

Urgh...I'm also big busted. It seems so much more blatant when you're short. Im 5'2'' and 32D. It sooo akward...Finding bras is a nightmare. Anyway, its quite encouraging to meet ppl who are proud of the whole femine figure...I've hated my curvaceous self simply because I thought it was the result of my being overweight. In particular my hips and my bust. I actually dont stand up straight, someone pointed this out to me, just so I can make my bust look smaller...urgh its a constant struggle. Hopefully one day I'll be able to embrace my figure. I'm hoping to lose at leat a cup size with my 26 lb weightloss goal. Do you guys think that will happen?....If i've always been big-busted...will I lose some when I lose wait. My stats are:
Current weight: 136
Goal weight:110
I like this height group thing. It helps put our struggles into perspective. For example I'm aiming for 110...but now some of you guys who are my height (sort of) are going for around 119...so maybe I think I will set that as my first goal and see how I feel.
Yay for us! We can so do this. Tis true: Short people are so much cuter:)

lizzy2, hey there glad to see you aboard. My mom loses her chest when she loses weight, I however don't. I have always been a D cup even at a 120 I was a D cup. no one looked me in the eye and they were always the subject of a joke. I learned to deal but it still made me uneasy.
don't for get to post your daily goal and if you want throw out a challenge to folks on our thread.

I am between 5'2" and 5'3" but I feel much shorter since everyone in my family (including my 11 year old brother) is taller than me (my mom is 5'10"!). I totally believe weight looks different on short people! 10 pounds spread out over 6 feet is much different than 10 pounds spread out over only 5 feet!
I'm always up for a challenge on here!! I am in 190's biggest loser and do the exercise challenges, so you can count me in on here too! I started at 210 pounds (EEK!) in late december. I am down to 188.5 and hope to get down to 135 by next summer. I am giving myself ample time. My goal for now is to by 178 by May 12 (that's when I officially receive my MS degree.)
Lizzy- I agree about needing to embrace curves. When I was 16 and had my first job, and older woman told me I had "birthing hips" I bawled my eyes out! I've always been hippy and curvy, had the big old butt, etc. I have learned to like it mor enow, I feel like more of a woman. However, not until I gained weight were my boobs substantial. At one point I got up to a DD, now, I've lost 21 pounds and am between a C and a D. So, you could totally lose a cup size!

Oh yeah. I am really into cycling- I actually signed up to do a 100 mile ride in Sept. I am training for that now. I also row, use the elliptical in the gym, and do light weight lifting to help increase muscle. I actually like working out- it makes me feel good.
A short term goal for me, btw, is to be 187 by next weekend (I like weekly goals). I may nto get there, but here's hoping!

I think everyone should at least try to embrace their curves. Not everyone is built like Gisele Bundchen! I am hoping to maybe lose one cup size but no more. I used to be very self conscience about the size of my breatss. I remember crying going bra shopping when I passed that C cup point. And I weighed like 120 pounds then. Then my mom bought me my first low cut shirt. And she explained that god blessed me with a beautiful gift and people would be jealous but I should show it off, and honestly I have been ever since. I hate my thighs much more than any other part of my body, so I just accentuate the postive. I figure if people are looking at my boobs and cute hair then they won't be looking at my thighs! :)
My short term goal is to be down to 165 by next Saturday. And to quit smoking. Are there any smokers out there that are afraid to quit and gain weight?

sweetcarolyn- I am an ex smoker. I smoked for about 4 years, and then decided to quit when I had surgery on my mouth (smoking causes horrible oral infactions!) It was really tough, and I did gain weight around that time, but I don't think it was because of quitting smoking- I was also moving and starting my graduate work at the time. Try to chew gum/ eat mints and hard candy a lot. Also, if you're like me you crave a cigarette after a meal- brush your teeth instead, it helps. I also know I liked to smoke when i went out with friends (this is the only time I find myself craving them now, 2 years later!). I have never found a way to avoid that other than willpower, but good luck to you!!
