4-11 to 5-2 Club. Weight Gain Is Worse On Short Folks.
Looking For Folks 4-11 To 5-2, To Lose Weight With. I Need Help And Inspiration Bad!!!!!!! No One Around Me Is My Size And They Just Don't Get That One Cookie Can Send Me Over The Edge. Need Encouragement Fast, Close To 200 Pounds. Help

Hello hhollyhal, the difference between your size and your friends size is simple, I had this problem when I was thinner. I was told by my personal trainer that a pound of musle is 5 times smaller than a pound of fat, tone up if you can and if you do weights, he said a little weight, 5-8 pounds with lots of reps (like about 50).
good luck, I'm 186 now but I used to be a gym hound before my depression set in. BTW, I should have never gotten rid of the personal trainer, worth every penny.

I know cocowan, i miss my trainer too but im broke and lucky i can still afford my gym membership. I weight train like crazy but a girl at work thinks i might be over doing it so my new plan is to mix it up a bit. The only areas I really have any fat left are the hardest ones to tone (my inner thighs, triceps. and abs). I have back issues so the abs are a little tricky but im trying!

don't for get that Sundays are Weigh ins and that there are a few challenges out there. Tuesday was the Water Challenge and Wednesday is the Cardio Challenge. I'm new here and I'm 5'1 and 195 lbs. Yuck! I'd be happy to lose 55 lbs. This weight creeped up on me over the last 5 yrs. I have a treadmill I'm starting to use. I have one question though. Do any of you shorties have a problem starting out on the treadmill over 2mph? Anything over that it seems like I'm jogging, and I don't want to jog, but a fast paced walk. I'm going to start out with 1/2 hour on the treadmill each day until I work up to 45 min.

imashorty, I did the same thing and I'm 4'11. I can only go for short periods of time above 2 mph. then I drop back down. I do 45 mins and I spend about 10 mins at 2.2 - 2.4 mph. any more than that my hips get a little rubbery.

Stupid Nordic track! I tried it out at a friend's house and I swear they must think people our height don't need to lose weight because I could barely touch the those arm pulls! Even after adjusting it there's no way I could use it effectively.

Hi all, I ate well, did 30 mins cardio in the morning and due to some pretty nasty storms didn't make the cardio in the afternoon.
trying again today tho. I fell off the exercise wagon and I think it's dragging me today. Exercise is alway the hardest for me to get in during the week.

I used to exercise 45 min. daily, then I started craving more food (I do mean serious binging). I decided to decrease my time to 30min. daily. I think it's more important for me to go easy on the exercise if it helps me have more success with my food choices.

I am 5"2' and started in March as 190...am not 180!!!! You can't tell my looking though that I lost. Very discouraging...my hubby can feel the change, but you can't see it yet. I think it takes longer when you are short. I am longer legged and very short waisted...that doesn't help.

Im with you cocowan. I bought an extra water bottle that holds 32 oz and am drinking three of them a day. I have to be burning extra calories from always having to run to the bathroom!

I really hate the fact that one of my wormates weighs a stone more than me and looks half my weight because she's 5'7''. And does anyone else get fed up with stores that don't do trousers for petite women? I'm fed up of having to cut about a foot off most trousers that I buy.
However, have sympathy for my mum, who's only 4'10''!

Yea, my daughter is shorter than I am. Now, I regret not shooting her up with hormons when she was around 2yrs. old. She says she's okay with her height. At least she doesn't have a weight problem the way I did when I was her age. Thanks to her father's genes in that area.
