Maintaining
Moderators: iae

Hey guys, I'm 17, 118 pounds at 5'5, and my exercise usually involves about 30 minutes of general walking (to places) a day.

I have no idea how many calories I should be eating to maintain, caloriecount.com say 1600, however I've heard it should be more like 2000.

anyone have any solid advice I can go with?

thanks, and good luck to everyone!

If you're 17 and reasonably active you can't use the CC calculators because they're calibrated to the over-20's.  Chances are your body is still growing and developing - internally and externally - and so you need better nutrition and more energy than an older person the same size.  1800 would be the bare minimum for a sedentary teen.  2000 therefore sounds applicable to you.  Choose good quality wholefoods, of course.

thankyou!
