Coca cola zero vs. Diet coke?
They just have slightly different sugar substitutes
Diet Coke has aspartame, Coke Zero has less aspartame and a different sweetener (can't remember the name off the top of my head)

Oh, does it? My fiance will be overjoyed. He ADORES diet soda, especially Coke Zero, but I've been on his case to cut down on the aspartame consumption. At least Sweet&Low and Splenda don't have KNOWN medical drawbacks.
And yes, Coke Zero and Diet Coke taste quite different.
I don't remember where I read this but the difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke (other that Ace-K vs Aspartame) is this:
Remember when they had "New Coke"? Diet Coke is New Coke except replacing the sugar with artificial sweeteners. With the new Coke Zero, the used the "Original" Coke recipe, and replaced the sugar with artificial sweeteners. Diet Coke is really actually "Diet New Coke".
I don't really like diet colas all that much, but I prefer Diet Coke to Coke Zero, even though Zero is closer in taste to regular Coke. I would rather drink water, though, or diet lemon lime soda (Sprite / 7 Up) or Fresca, etc.
I always drink a diet soft drink and by far out of them all I think that Coke Zero is the No#1 of the brands. No funky after taste, and it tastes as if your drinking a regular soda without the sugar jolt. But I limit myself to two a day if I need something other than water or crystal light.![]()
I think Coke Zero taste weird...sick after-taste, too chemical...
But I like Diet Coke :)
Coke Zero does have caffeine. And it has a much sweeter taste than Diet Coke. I drink Diet Coke (too much) and can't stand the sweetness.
I drink caffeine free Diet Coke at home, but during the day I have it caffeinated. Drinking it in the evening interferes with my sleep.
