Is anyone using coconut oil? You can use it externally and internally and it aids with weight loss. I think I can safely say that it has helped me break my pleateau..I am back to losing again.
Has anyone else used this oil and how do you use it?

I've never used it. This site give it a D for it high sautrated fat content. Are you using it in place of other cooking oils? What are the benefits?
no..you dont cook in it. thus far i am using it on my skin and hair. i also add it to my fruit juices and teas. it is big for vegans/raw foodists. i had leveled off for awhile and now that i am taking a few tblsp a day i seem to be dropping again. interesting that this site gives it a D when it is used so much by vegans/raws. If you look it up online, it talks about the benefits.
but again, no, i don't cook with it. i dont cook for myself at all anymore, only for the family and then i use EVOO.
anyone else using it besides me and the vegans/raws?

There is widespread misconception that coconut oil is bad for you because it is said to raise blood cholesterol and cause heart disease. The only "proof" is one four-decades old study. The study used hydrogenated coconut oil.
It is now known that the process of hydrogenation creates "trans fatty acids" (TFAs), which are toxic entities that enter cell membranes, block utilization of essential fatty acids (EFAs) and impede cell functionality. TFAs also cause a rise in blood cholesterol. These substances are not present in natural coconut oil.
In other words, a study based on hydrogenated coconut oil has no relevance to the non-hydrogenated coconut milk or coconut oil that you eat.
I've used coconut oils and butters on my body for years... absolutely love the smell. I see that the oil is also used in cooking in places like Malaysia and has some benefits to a youthful aging process. Hmmm now I hae to compare it to olive oil... LOL thanks.
