I've never taken it myself but I have heard fish oil is good for muscle soreness. It makes sense to me that oil would "lubricate" your joints.. but that may be too simple of an assumption.

Any fish and fish oil products probably not such a great idea for you. The mercury levels in all fish and fish products are too high for human consumption everywhere in the world. For you, I'd be most concerned about the damage mercury can inflict on your gastro-intestinal system and your kidneys.

Given that your body is healing, you may be particularly susceptible to irreversible damage due to the mercury contamination of fish and fish oils.

It is the Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids in fish oils that down-regulate inflammation in the body (ie. good for joints) and help with the regulation of mood, behaviour and cellular functions. Good alternative sources of these fatty acids are:flaxseed (linseed) -- ground or the oil, hemp oilsoya oilcanola (rapeseed) oilchia seedspumpkin seedssunflower seedsleafy vegetables, and walnuts.

thankyou for that info
