how does coffee effect your weight loss, IF you put only a little bit of nonfat milk and a splenda or two in it when you drink it?
does it help? hurt? do absolutely nothing?
this is petty i know, but im just curious, because ive been hearing how its not good, but i assume (since coffee itself has like 5 cals) that its really only bad with cream or lots of milk, and actual sugar. am i mistaken?

coffee can only be bad for you if you drink it in mass quanities, and this is only because the amount of caffine can effect people in different ways. plain coffee with a one tablespoon creamer, and one teaspoon sugar has less than 50 calories. but a caribou coffee cooler has 450 calories. so i'd just stick to making it at home. hope this info helps :]
haha well i am guilty to being a starbucks addict, mostly because i love to just sit there for hours and do work or read. but i've only ever once got something from there that wasnt just plain coffee, so its not like i go there every day and get lattes and crazy expensive calorific drinks! all i put in my coffee is a splash of nonfat milk and 2 splenda. so then i should be fine... right? usually i'll get 1, maybe 2 cups a day.
Coffee won't hurt your weight loss as long as you count for it, and, as awiita said, as long as you don't drink it is mass quantities! :-) In fact, many studies have found that limited amounts of coffee can have health BENEFITS. I, too, have one or two cups a day and haven't seen any negative effects so far.
Funny you should ask, as I have a handy dandy Starbucks Nutrition Guide with me. A tall brewed coffee is a whopping 5 calories. Splenda? Skim milk? Completely negligible. I have at least a cup a day, hasn't stopped me from losing.
Aren't you in recovery from starving yourself? Why are you still trying to lose weight? Are you here on CC to lose weight or get better?
as my profile says, im looking to only lose a pound or two (if even!--just toning) from what i gained back, and mostly when i say lose weight, im just referring to not gaining.
no worries, i just didnt want to be drinking too much cofffee if its gonna be counterproductive. if im gonna gain anything, id rather if it at least get to be from something other than a beverage lol
We cannot and will not support someone recovering from ED who is trying to lose weight in an unhealthy manner.
You wrote two weeks ago that people are still telling you that you are too skinny and you admit you have body image issues. Also you are 5'6" and 113 lbs. That means your BMI is actually underweight.

im not doing anything unhealthily, i believe ive kept saying i want to be healthy... and i dont see a problem with toning up. im not trying to lose 10 lbs or anything like that! although i have gained weight since, 113 was a guess (it actually says up to 116 if that part wasnt ignored), because i do not have a scale. ive never PROMOTED ED'S. are you joking? i just asked a question about coffee.
