I was just reading an article from google the other day, the subject was - Coffee, good or bad?  answers change like weather.  In conclusion, there is not answer.

I don't know about you, but coffee makes me bowel movements.  I need to go bathroom 15 minutes after drinking it.  My coffee is regular 8oz cup with cream and splenda.
I was reading a book last night about coffee. It says that it affects the liver ability to burn fat. The book recommended herbal coffee instead. I am going to buy it.
chelsearoffles,

fanism is right about current research on the effects of coffee on weight loss, every place has a different stance. I have been doing well loosing weight and drinking my morning coffee. I drink mine with non-dairy creamer and no sugar. Putting skim milk in your coffee I don't think would be bad health-wise but for me it waters it down too much.

De-caff coffee, I have read, is worse for you than regular coffee. It still has some caffeine plus other chemicals. What they do is coat the coffee beans/grind with a chemical that neutralizes the caffeine upon brewing, that is why the decaf coffee beans always look greasy at the grocery store. So though there is less caffeine, there is still the other chemicals to worry about.

I say drink on! I personally refuse to give up coffee, no way no how!

I'm no doctor or expert, but I think partaking in a little coffee now and then is fine. A cup or so per day..... Not five! I like coffee, so I'm going to have a little.    I used to be in to cycling. Some of those avid riders actually recommended a cup or two 1/2 hour before their workout.
well as my coffee cup says...

"argh!death without me coffee!"
Moderation is key!  Every morning I have one cup of coffee with 2-3 tablespoons fat free half-n-half and equal.  It's maybe 30 calories and I look foreward to it.  Hasn't effected my weight loss I don't think.
I lost 23 pounds last year and drank 2 triple lattes with skim milk ( no sweetener or flavor) every day...moderation is hard or me where coffee is concerned. I don't think it is healthy and have cut back. I have also gained every one of those pounds back! That has nothing to do with the coffee, I stopped tracking my calories and stopped stepping on the scale. Yikes! So while I don't recommend my routine to anyone, I cant see how coffee got in the way.
healthnuttie, I think that advice speaks for itself :)
I love my coffee.. but a switch to skim milk from cream was definately a good idea and i think it tastes better this way. i think a cup or 2/day is good for you, but more than that is too much  caffeine for your body to handle.
