my coffee taste like alcohol!?
I bought dunkin donuts cinnamon spice coffee grounds last night and it tastes like alcohol!!! what on earth! I brewed it this coffee this morning and put some creamer in and it taste just like alcohol. Like weak scotch or something. Not at all what I was expecting. I think I might finish my first cup just to wake me up and drive to DD to get some actual coffee. This is just wrong!
Has anyone else tried this kind?
ok I cant even finish the 1st cup...just too gross
When things taste 'alcoholic' it's often because they're fermenting. Could be that your coffee was a bit past its best or it has got contaminated. Or the 'cinnamon spice' flavour could be something chemical-tasting that they squirt in at the last minute. Or it could even be that your creamer is a bit dodgy. How does the coffee taste black?
I used to work in a specialtiy coffee shoppe;
The flavoring we would mix into the coffee beans is almost always alcohol based. Dunkin Donuts is probably using a cheaper one, or the inexperienced person mixing it probably mixed in too much.
It tastes the same black..I've used dunkin donuts regular coffee before and it tasted fine. I just bought it last night and the package said that it got ground pretty recently, so it can't be that. I think its either just a bad product or like edamame said someone messed something up.
I think I'm just going to have to give in and buy my more expensive german coffee brand. Money is tight but I can't live without good coffee. I think I might call the dunkin donuts call center later today and see what they say.
Do you have cinnamon at home? If so you can just put some of it into your normal coffee to have a splendid taste and the effects of cinnamon that lower your sugarlevels in the blood. ;) It doesn't matter if you use whole cinnamon or ground, in the filter or in the cup. It's just great either way. How about that?
I agree cinnamon in coffee is great but when the coffee by itself tastes like alcohol and not cinnamon...thats not great...atleast to me
I tried that coffee too, its gross... the cinnamon just does not taste right.
that doesn't sound good. neither does drinking something that taste like alcohol without any of the fun.
I feel lucky though that I haven't had the same experience. I'm too much of a coffee lover to have my coffee spoiled with any extracts. I just buy my different beans and grind myself. Then again we don't have the same range of choice that you do in the US.
okay this is totally off topic, but your post reminded me of a story.
a few years ago, one of my roommates came up to me with a bowl of oatmeal and asked me to try it because she thought it tasted weird, and it did-- like alcohol. well, i turns out that the water bottle she used to make it was actually filled with vodka. whoooops.
so, um, have you made sure that you actually used water to make your coffee?
hahahahaha awesome, argyle!
