Coke. Oh, how I love thee....
Why, oh why do I keep going back to Coke?
It's a toxic romance, for sure. No matter how much I crave those fun, fizzy bubbles and the burn of the first sip I have got to quit for good this time! The caffeine withdrawal is awful and I am suffering through it for the last time! How have the rest of you kicked the habit, because all I can seem to do is nudge it with my big toe?
LOL. I love the burn it gives me as well! Funny, I grew up not liking coke because of the feel it gave me on my teeth. But when I started college, jeez- drank coke like there was no tomorrow so what helped me kick the regular Coke habit was either generic Cola zero or Coke zero. maybe you could try it (it is definitely no Coke) and somehow wean yourself off? I still drink generic coke zero 3 to 5 times a week max.
High fructose Corn Syrup. It'll getcha every time.
Have you tried coke zero?
get used to drinking coke with some liquor mixed alongside it. After a while coke by itself will taste incredibly dull.
Unfortunately, I have tried Coke Zero, Sprite Zero, and all the other zeros out there. Nothing has a hold on me like my beloved Coke. I can, and do, drink Diet Dr. Pepper from time to time but I don't derive great pleasure from it. I've been drinking decaf tea with sweet-n-low and I enjoy the taste, but jeesh the caffeine withdrawal headaches are murder! I suppose the smart thing to do would've been to get the tea bags with caffeine, but i was working with what I had at home. Any idea how long the withdrawal will last and will my love of coke ever really go away? We've had break-ups in the past, some lasting more than a year, but I always seem to go running back to the shiny red can.

I certainly see how mixing the liquor along with Coke could be a great perk, and will probably give a whirl, alas, it doesn't help first thing in the morning, which is when I usually begin my vast coke consumption. I'm afraid my kids' principal may take issue with smelling my husband's delicious, yet potent, 30 year Scotch on my breath when I drop the kiddos of at school.![]()
or take a tylonol and get off the caffine. sounds yucky to depend on it that much.
Coke is definitely hard to stop drinking, but what I do with my diet coke addiction is I don't buy it anymore for home (I save about $10 each week not buying soda!), but when I go out, I get it.
I just started drinking coke zero until i got used to it. Like any addiction it is not easy. Don't get me started on double cheeseburgers and Big Macs.
EDIT: and thank your lucky stars you're not into the other kind of coke.
I'm drinking diet pepsi right now, and it is not proving to be a satisfactory substitute for diet coke....I. Still. Want. My. Coke!!!
coke zero with raspberry rum...just saying OMG yummy!
Switch to coffee until you get used to it.
I used to drink a lot of coke, but I just kind of stopped buying it and while I sometimes bum one from a friend or a vending machine it's less than one every few weeks.
BTW, please don't waste 30 year old scotch with coke...buy some of the cheap stuff.
I had some this past weekend after 3 long months without it. OH such bubbly sweet cold delicious goodness!
It'll be a 4 times a year treat for me, because that's how I got here to begin with.. "just one coke a day" "well, just two today cause i'm so busy!" "well I can have one with dinner too"
had to go cold turkey on that B.
(Ooooh...White Lines) Vision dreams of passion
(Blowin through my mind) And all the while I think of you
(Pipe cries) A very strange reaction
(For us to unwind) The more I see the more I do
(Something like a phenomenon) Baby
(Tellin your body to come along, but white lines...blow away)
(Blow! Rock it! Blow!)
Ticket to ride white line highway
Tell all your friends, they can go my way
Pay your toll, sell your soul
Pound for pound costs more than gold
The longer you stay the more you pay
My white lines go a long way
Either up your nose or through your vein
With nothin to gain except killin your brain
(Freeze! Rock!) 4X
(Blow!)
(High...) Higher, baby
(High...) Get higher, baby!
(High...) Get higher, baby!
And don't ever come down! (Freebase!)

Doing the cold turkey thing now...it sux. Don't think I can handle treating myself to one after a few months though, that is how I've been sucked back to the dark side in the past. I'm afraid it has to be over for good....sigh...I shall miss it though. Hope I can stay away this time.
Seriously guys... Coca Cola, addiction?
I honestly thought this was a topic about Cocaine, now that's REAL addiction. :D

I suppose to people who have faced drug or alcohol addiction this probably does seem pretty silly. I've always had a healthy fear of drugs and with the exception of my drunken college years(many eons ago) I only have a few drinks a year. Honestly, its just not a part of my reality. And while I sincerely sympathize with those who struggle with those types of addictions, this post was really just a light hearted attempt to vent about an admittedly mild frustration.![]()

You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
