I am in college, and I live with 5 roommates. I am not overweight, but I definitely have an overeating problem. I love to eat, and I always want more! The girls I live with are all very thin, so they basically eat whatever they want. This is hard for me because I will do great all day, then when I come home they are eating things that tempt me, and I usually give in. Also, I study late at night (until around 1:30 am) and I always snack late which I heard puts on the pounds faster... help! any suggestions??
drink a lot of water. whenever you feel like you want to eat something, drink water FIRST, and then proceed to eating.
also, for late night studying, I like to have a cup of coffee with a dash of nonfat milk, and 1/4 cup of almonds. that usually tides me over and keeps me going.
or sometimes ill make a bowl of edemame, or some greek yogurt.
its all about finding the snacks that are good for you, taste great, and will fill you up. :) good luck!
strawberry halves are my snack food of choice...one whole cup is only 50 calories, and they're sweet and tart and perfect! (but then i'm obsessed with strawberries) good luck finding your happy fodo :)
girl stop it while you havent gained weight!!! From personal experience, i was a freshman same situation roomates not all skinny but they lovee to eat! i didnt have a problem with my weight but i worked out every day, but still if you take in more cals then you need you gain weight. and slowly i gained first didnt notice but by the end of the year i gained about 15 pounds, and when i have midterms finals etc. i wear like sweats so didnt really see a difference now i try on my jeans every week if i am in sweats. anyways, Try not to snack when they do, have things around you that you can eat ex. fruit, sunflower seeds takes forever to eat, have drinks like flavored drinks water is boring sometimes, chew gum just pick healthy stuff and eat. idk if you drink but watch out for that too! the weight gain just creeps on you slowly and sometimes you dont notice until you gain like 10 pounds then losing it is annoying. but anyways good luck!
Snacking late at night doesn't put on pounds any faster than snacking earlier in the day. What puts on the pounds is consuming more calories than you burn - which is easy to do if you eat mindlessly in the evening while studying/watching TV/etc. If you're taking a break to snack late because you're actually hungry, that's fine. If you're having a snack so that you have an excuse to take a study break, try making a cup of tea instead.
How often should you eat during the day?
It is neither necessary to eat every two hours nor to stop eating at 6:00 PM. As long as your calorie intake is less than your output... Read more
