college students and finals time
hey guys
im fairly new to calorie counters, and someone may have posted this already, but with school stressing me out i am totally losing motivation
im so tired from too much school, haven't been home all semester and its making me homesick and depressed and im really stressed out about finals and projects.
ive been eating to deal with comfort, which is too bad because i wanted to lose weight before thanksgiving and i feel like any work from the past two weeks has probably been lost in the past two days.
i just wanted to see if anyone else was feeling this and what they did to break out of this cycle of stress and depression (also i am going to start my period and its making me crabby-dont know if thats really influencing anything, but i thought i should add it)
any advice?
I've been totally feeling that way too! I'm not going home until summer so it's worse. :/
I suggest you just take a break, get through your work, enjoy thanksgiving and then work on losing weight. I just have a snack every now and then to make myself feel better lol (like an apple)
Nicole, I totally understand. I work full-time and go to school almost fulltime, plus I'm married and just recently moved, so my hands are full right now.
Your health is really important, so I would recommend that you try to deal with the stress of exams and stuff, but still pay some attention to what you eat. I find it helps if I kinda plan my meals the day before, or have some healthy snacks on hand. Instead of giving in and eating potato chips and doritos (a weakness during exams), I stock up on nuts and whole grain products. Like naruelle suggested, try eating an apple or some other piece of fruit.
You'd be surprised how good it feels to know that you conquered exams and lost weight (or maintained) at the same time... I say to keep at it, just don't try to do too much all at once.
Good luck![]()
