College Students

Quote  |  Reply
Hello! I am starting a club for college students. It is hard going off to college and making the right food choices...I think we can support each other and talk about healthy alternatives to food choices. I am going to be a senior in college next year and I am trying to lose that weight I gained from college.

A little about me, I'm a biomedical engineer...I'm recently engaged and I love to drink (which is horrible if you are dieting)

about my weight...

I'm 5'10" medium build

started at: 172lbs

currently at: 140lbs

want to be: 140lbs <~~ made my goal!!! took ~6 months

Since College/Classes are done for summer...How did everyone do with the diet??

So emily, if I did the conversions right, you want to be between 126 and 133 pounds, and you currently are 140 pounds (10 stone).  Good luck!
I'm a college student... again - I graduated 2 years ago and now I'm back.

height: 5'11''
small/athletic build
current weight: 149
goal weight: 135

I gained so much weight my first time in college, with a high of 193 about 3-3.5 years ago. It's coming off slowly, and I do have setbacks (especially lately - I've put on 4 lbs since starting school again), but I try not to get discouraged.
hey everyone...ok this is for people who have been on this diet for awhile....how much did you lose the first month?

thanks,

ash
hey there!

i'm 5'3"

i started HERE at 174 a little less than a month ago

i'm down to 166 already :)

and i want to be 134 by may 2007
( i really wanna be about 145 but i figure if i say 134 it'll keep me going to that goal.  don't tell my mind that though! :-P  )

last year first semester i gained so much weight at school! i have about 10-13 classes a semester and it's hard to make sure i'm eating right with the little time i have.  this summer i've lost about 20 pounds.  hopefully i can stay motivated my senior year to keep it goin!!
hello eveyone, im new to this site, but, like everyone, i need to drop a few pounds before the crew season starts. Im suprised there are so many college students here

stats 5' 10''
current-177
Goal- 165

I figure 1900 calories a day and an hour of exercise should do it..good luch everyone!
ahhhh!!! i tried on some clothes that i wore in HS and they fit!!!!!!! haha ok im overly excited right now!!!
Congrats!

I'm going for that goal!  Every week I try on these pair of 'motivational' pants I bought...three years ago.   Ooops!

Hmmm... first month, I lost 11.4 lbs.
First month, about 5 lbs.
Another college student, right here!

I was inactive all through high school and then did crew my first year of college. Since I was in an intense sport, I thought I could eat all I wanted. Not true. As healthily as I was eating, I still gained a bunch of weight (and I was overweight already). So... in late May, I realized that I needed to change some things, and now I'm doing this.

start weight: 180 lbs ... current weight: 154.5 lbs ... goal weight: 130 lbs

Good luck, everyone!
hey are there any good diet foods that you can get at a kroger or something like that??? thanks!
I'm in college :) First year nursing student, but I've spent the past 3 years on pre-reqs and getting a certificate in medical assisting. And, I recently got married (June 24).

I'm 5'3", medium frame

starting weight: 166

current weight: 162

goal weight: around 140 - 135
I am a student as well. I am a Computer Engineering student. The last six months before I started my life change, aka diet, I was eating whenever I was hungry and never really listened to my body. Now I am at 204.4 lost almost 21lbs. I feel so much better than I did. I work out every day, weigh in daily, and count my calories. Best of luck to everyone in the same boat, being in college can add stress and weight really easy if you don't watch. Thankfully I am changing my life around and I will keep it this way. :)
hey yall!!!

Im a college freshman pre-nursing. I just started on my diet and it is really hard to stay on it when everyday i have to walk next to a soda machine and a candy vendor to get to class plus everyday i go to subway which is right next door and i always have to get a cookie which is hard to resist!!!!!  Hopefully ill be able to stick to it

My weight:

goal 145
Hello everyone!

I am a Nursing student set to graduate May 2007. Stress is an understatement.

Start Weight:160

Current: 153

Goal: 130

Height: 5'6

I have found it really helpful to pack snacks to take to class with me to fight the seduction of the vending machine. Try grapes or carrots.

take bottled water with you to class. you can always refill it at a water fountain if you run out and are still thirsty. and like jamie said, take snacks with you. my last year of college i had classes tues/thurs. from 8a-9p. I would bring my lunch (I had time to go home for dinner) and eat it in class (or in between classes).
