College Students who want to lose 20+ lbs by summer
I saw a group for teens that wanted to lose 20 + pounds by summer, but quickly noticed that most posts were from 13-16 year olds. I just thought I'd start one up for the 19-25 crowd out there with, unfortunately a slower metabolism. Enter your stats so we can get to know and support each other!

Hello, I would love to join this support group! I initially started at 216 and went down to 174. But I serioulsy gained like 14 pounds of it back! HELP! So I am just trying to get back into the groove. If we could constantly communicate with each other and become accountability partners, that would be great!

I recently lost 100+ pounds but gained like 15 back over the holidays and have been messing around trying to lose it again since Christmas! Gah. I'm over this roller coaster. I'm just going to buckle down and lose it.

WOW! Hey guys! It is so great to meet all of you! I thought we could use this topic as sort of a means of supporting each other. Could you all maybe share a little bit more information about you, your weight history, current dietplan and what you think we could do to help each other out?
Let me lead by example.
My name is Kelly and I am 20 years old. I've always been overweight untill my senior year of high school when I reached about 212 pounds. Suddenly, I couldn't take it anymore and dieted, eventually reaching my lowest, 115 lbs. THis however was too much of a loss for my 5'9'' body. My doctor threatened me with a clinic if I didn't gain some weight. However, what was supposed to be "healthy weight gain" was really just unlocking my former fat girl. Sadly, over the last year, I have watched my weight climb up to 163 lbs.
Since I have started calorie count, I am now 157 lbs and hoping to be 130 by summer.
I was thinking maybe we could use this for weekly weigh ins, talk about issues, share successes and tips.
I look forward to hearing from each of you!

And I have a story to go with it lol Ever since I started college I was always in the 120-125lb range and then I was put on a combination of medicine that made me gain about 40lbs in a very short time (4-5 months). The medicine made me feel better but it was a catch 22 because the weight gain was depressing me all over so I started exercising and eating healthy and nothing happened. At this time I was 165lbs and was very frustrated because the weight was not coming off even after exercising regularly for two months. Finally I started seeing a new doctor and she took me off of the two medications and put me on a new one and what do you know I started losing weight! I lost 25lbs and started to get lazy so didn't work out as much and eventually stopped working out at all. I kept with the healthy diet though and at one point went to a vegetarian diet and I lost another 10 so I was down to 130 and the lowest was 128 (yay) but then I was put back on one of the medicines that made me gain the last time so I have gained again and want to take it off permanently this time. I've actually been going to the gym almost every day for close to two months, doing cardio and weight training and sucks for me I haven't lost any weight but I was reading today that this may be because I'm not taking in enough calories so new diet starting tomorrow with more calories and hopefully the weight will come off! Wow long story, sorry haha

I've always been a thick girl but this is the biggest I have ever been. My smallest was a size 10 and my largest was a size 16. I would like to fit into a size 12 jean...so whatever weight that equates to. Despite my weight gain I still feel confident in myself and attractive but I would like to be healthier, lose the extra fat and tone my body. In calculating the total weight loss 52 pounds seems like alot of weight but I am confident that the diet and exercise plan I am about to do will produce those results.
I would like to be under 200 pounds in the next 2 months.
Hey all! I have a really slow metabolism and had some thyroid problems but am now on meds so everything is starting to finally come off (slowly but surely) but everyone needs help and motivation so I'm definately in. Would absolutely love a body I won't be shy to show on the beach by summer.
I was a size 10-12 at my slimmest a couple of years ago but haven't been able to get that body back since my thyroid went nutty on me. It's a constant battle but I'm so happy to finally be getting somewhere. Every pound counts on my small frame so luckily I see relatively fast results. I have SO many reasons to do this with no slip ups. My brothers wedding, I'm a bridesmaid. My 21st birthday and my first trip to America, going away to Greece for summer and just to finally be happy with myself.

ahahaha. in my life.. i've never worn a bikini... and going to a school right next to the beach, i feel the urge to just shed off this weight and finally wear one and actually look very good in it.
i'm doing the diet where you change your caloric intake to trick your metabolism..
has anyone tried to acai berry supplement? does it work out?
i also live in dorms... do any of you guys have some inputs on how i can eat in there??? i know.. the salad bar and what not.. but you DO get sick of the salad bar.. trust me... a quarter and a half... and im slowly getting sick of everything in the salad bar.. its either that or the salad bar here is just gross... PROBABLY the latter -_-x

i don't know about your school, but mine also has low calorie soups and steamed veggies alot. also the deli area is a great place to go.
i find that it's safest to avoid the mainline like the plague because they lie about what they've put into the food and everything is soaked with butter!

I attack that salad bar! I get brocolli, peppers, romaine, olive oil, and vinegar. YUM. They also serve "grilled chicken breast sandwiches" but I go in that line and just get a chicken breast on top of my salad. They grill it, there might be a little butter in it so I log it as "chicken breast, no skin, fried" for 160 cals. I also eat the chicken breast with side of vegetables - I always get the steamed ones which they have sometimes. I also get hard boiled eggs a lot from the salad bar and make a meal out of them! I keep almonds in my room and they make a great snack.
The dining hall is TOUGH - I'm so tired of what I'm eating!!
So will there be a weigh in day specifically or are we just helping eachother along and recording our losses? x

My story is that i always weighed less than 140 and in th last two years of high school i ballooned to 153. After seeing this number I freaked out. I had done every dumb diet in the book and i'm finally getting it right this time, doing it the old fashioned way! hehe I haven't weiged 125 in a long time, but I think I can do it. However, I'm a pear shape and carry all my weight in my legs and butt so i'm looking to lose weight there ecspecially. Really i'll be happy to break 130 at all. We should have a weigh in day.
I like to weigh in on wednesdays so I'm not catching weekend bloat and it kind of seems like a good average day for the whole week....would anyone else be up for that?
P.S. Last wednesday I weighed in at 123.6 which is down 1.8 pounds from the previous wednesday at 125.4 - yay :)
I usually weigh myself everyday because it kind of forces me accept reality if I messed up lol, but wednesday seems like a good even day.

I hope to find some buddies on here to help me with motivation because there is no one around me who is supportive! My sister is so skinny people wonder if she has an eating disorder (she doesn’t) I got stuck with the super slow metabolism in my family. I have some health problems too which is ridiculous at my age so I need to be very careful to keep my weight down. Anyway I wish I could say that I’m excited to be losing the weight but I’ve hit a plateau I guess and now I’m just bummed and frustrated. Also I’m a vegetarian so any other veggies out there who want to bitch about meal choices together I’m all ears lol.
