Our commitment

Quote  |  Reply

Our commitment plus God's help can yield some incredible changes in our lives.  Once we admit that we have a problem, and give it a name, we need to lay that problem at the foot of the cross.  Example: eating Rocky Road ice cream every time I leave the office alone to run an errand.  Identify the problem, how do you handle the problem, give it a name - this helps you stop losing and start choosing.

God only has good plans for us, and He has a way of doing things that are ultimately for our best.

Our prayer can be:

Dear Lord, You know I've got a problem with _____________________.  Please help me.  I cannot overcome this are by myself.  It is too big.  I commit this area to You.  With Your help, I'll succeed.  Amen

This can apply to food, exercise, gossip, time at work, something hindering your marriage?  A problem is a problem if something interferes with your life.

So let's STOP IT!  STOP IT!  STOP IT!

I am working on Stopping it - how about you?

Today is day nine of no chocolate!  Praise you Lord - It allowed me to have a most wonderful visit with my family!!!

I praise you oh Lord for helping Lorraine to stay strong and resist her addiction to chocolate.  This is a big step for her and I thank you for giving her strength.

Thank you Norma Jean for posting this.  I won't go into full detail in this thread.  But the root of my trouble is self worth and self image.  I do not view myself as valuable or worthy of love.  But God is helping me in this area.  I have buried my true self under years of neglect when it comes to my size and weight.
