COMMITTED LOSERS [Group Open Again!]
Hi guys! I'm baaaack! Basically spent about 6 months UNDOING all of the weightloss you all helped me with last year and am now at a whopping 148 lbs, 8 lbs more than what I started with last year. I feel disgusting and totally ashamed. Time to get back on track. Hope to be down to 130 by the end of the summer. Anyone new want to join me for weekly weigh-ins and daily motivation? Anyone still around from last summer?
[OP from last summer: Well, I've been on CC for about a month now and have gone from 140 to 136.6. I am female, 28 yrs old, and about 5'3. My goal weight is 115. I expected to lose more than 3.4 lbs by now, but I also expected that I'd be much better at staying under my daily calorie limit (1200-1400). In any case, I'm realizing that I do a much better job of disciplining myself when I am able to regularly check-in with people who care. I've been doing weekly weigh-ins in a couple of CC forum groups, but no one seems to want to offer support and motivation on any other day than weigh-in day! Everyone checks in about once a week and that's it. I need an active forum that I can turn to every day for inspiration. I think it would be best to limit such a group to about 15 really committed members with similar stats and goals. I'm looking for people who can check in and post regularly, people who turn to this group instead of binging, people who will share their weaknesses, rants, raves, progresses, and plateaus as often as possible.
I'm proposing that we weigh-in on FRIDAYS and that we keep "weighing-in" metaphorically every other day of the week. Who's with me?]
Whew it's been a long day! But I managed to walk about an hour and 40 minutes today! Not bad. I found myself ready for work early this morning so I decided to walk. But this forum has been busy since I left for work. I had a pretty good day calorie wise, but I packed my lunch last night, so that made it much easier to stick with it. The only thing I didn't do but should have was figure out how many calories I had left after eating all of that. Perhaps I'll do that tonight, I know when I log my "work food" the night before that helps me, because then I have an idea where I am calorie wise, just in case.
So when I got home I ate the last 2 smoked sausages (which are REALLY low on the healthy list) but I'm still mostly within my calorie limit because of all that walking. I would have picked something more healthy but I've only been here on Calorie Count for about a week, and I'd already bought them. I hated to just throw them away.
That's my problem. I hate wasting food. My diet profile said I'm an excessive eater, so my challenge has been finding ways to eat often without blowing my calories. (Thank goodness for my popcorn popper! Air popped popcorn really helps.) But I'm really trying to learn to make only what I can eat and buy only what I'll be able to consume (within my limit) the next few days. It's proving to be a challenge.
So what little tricks do YOU guys use to make sure you stay within your calorie range? Does anyone else pack their lunch the night before? Any weaknesses (like hating to throw away food)?

I've been doing really well this week! Today I cheated and had a small soda with my lunch, but this is the first week I haven't had a soda with at least one meal every day. So, it was a treat after going all week without a soda! Going small is also a good way to go.. you get satisfied without over doing it. I've hit under 1600 the last two days. And I've had four soccer games this week, which I know will help. It's pouring rain outside, so no walk for me today at work. I'm glad I have a soccer game (in an indoor arena) to burn off some calories!
It looks like everyone else has done fairly well today too. Yay!
safiyah1 I'm a member of the "clean plate club" too. I hate throwing out anything and if I get a meal at a restaurant or at someone's home, I feel compelled to finish everything. My solution (at least at a restaurant...) is to automatically request a to-go box and put half in there. I will either take the leftovers to work with me or give it to one of my kids to eat. They're little hoovers anyway.
God bless my mom - she made us reservations at a restaurant tomorrow night where everything is seasonal and fresh and none of the entrees are over 300 calories. That means I can even swing dessert if I want! Makes is easier to budget calories for the Greek restaurant on Saturday night.
Got the results of the MRI this afternoon and they weren't conclusive so now I have to have the spinal ones done next week. Sigh. Puts the steroid treatments off another week. I have a snazzy purple cane that I named Penelope and I'm thinking about getting the cool multi-colored camouflage one. Haven't come up with a name yet.
Jennelaw: cute name for the cane. What about Rambo for the camoflauge one? I know, silly name.
I love that idea of a restaurant keeping everything under 300 calories, that certainly DOES make it easier to budget calories! Speaking of budgeting, I just found out about CC's text message thingy, what a great way to get calories and basic info on something!
I'm sorry about the steroid treatments. I've got a colonoscopy coming up July 30th to find out why my intestines don't seem to work without a crapload (pun intended) of fiber or prescription meds. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
I hope that the spinal ones come out the way you want them to.

Ok I realize I'm early for the weigh in, and there's probably a protocol for that but I'm off to work, so my weight this morning was 191.4 lbs, which is down 8.4 from last Wednesday when I started. Most of it's probably from my intestines getting cleaned out, I have IBS and when I don't eat right my intestines back up, stop working and begin to swell. I'm still emptying from that.
But I'll take it. 8.4 lbs is 8.4 lbs! yahoo!

Stupid really nice tasting cherry beer that is just really, really nice!
Weigh in day woooo. 186.2 for about a 1 or so pd loss. Start to get back to being motivated for the gym, which is a good thing, since I lost all m otivation for abotu 2 weeks or so.
Keep at it lozzle you can do it! A few cheery beers won't kill you, but they certainly throw bodies outta wack for weigh ins. :)
safiyah - GL on the colonoscopy, hope everything goes good for you! I usually plan out my entire day of food the moment I come into work (I pack a lunch everyday too). That way I know what I will have for dinner, and can plan snacks etc. around that number.
Oh and my two biggest weaknesses...ice cream and fries. The two yummiest junk foods there are. YUM!
I gotta try to keep up with thsi thread better :P So much to catch up on.
So, today, i'm going to go to town and buy some weights! Some heavier ones!
Mine aren't heavy enough really!
I am gonna kick my ass this week, SERIOUSLY kick it. THERE WILL BE A LOSS NEXT WEEK.
And if I don't do my weights, I want kicking!!!!

Weigh in day - 152.2 for a loss of just over a pound. Yay!
Funny weigh in story - I did my weigh in, cheered, got dressed and left for work. About half-way here I realized I needed to poop. Was then trying to figure out if I had time to run back home, go to the bathroom and re-weigh. Of course, I didn't have time and had to keep driving while wondering exactly how much that would have dropped the scale and if I would have made it down in the next pound range. LOL
Hope everyone has a great day and a great weekend. I'm leaving for out of town as soon as court is done at noon and will probably not check back in until Sunday late afternoon.

I am up by 1 lb,
but haven't been sticking to my excersice routine at all this week, plus a couple of nights on the wine and some meals out. Whoops!

did a bad thing and went to a bar with my boyfriend and some friends last night. he got a new car so he wanted to go out and celebrate (by drinking and driving? i DUNNO! he only had one beer but still i would not even have one beer this hop behind the wheel of this thing!)
So i had a Mich Ultra (95 calories) and then a side salad but then my weakness is breadsticks with cheese. so while i stayed away from the mozzarella sticks, i still inhaled three breadsticks with cheese. plus i was right at 1100 calories before that so i am sure i was up near 1700 or 1800 calories for the day. ugh!
so i am pounding the water like its my job today. i got a 1 liter bottle of ice mountain at the gas station this morning and have already refilled it and its only 9:34 am!
I am also going camping this weekend and sent my boyfriend with a grocery list that includes all sorts of fruits and veggies and almost NOTHING pre packaged! YEAH ME! hopefully this weekend with nature will turn out to be better for my body then i thought! wont do much hiking but will be swimming a lot and jumping of the boat in an attempt to perfect that second story pontoon dive!

Yeah! taking a class Monday night and Wednesday at two different places to see which one I want to start at. They both also have yoga so when i pick a place i will do yoga one or two nights a week then pilates one or two other nights a week! I am sooo excited for it!
Congrats on the weight loss jennelaw, mediar, and safiyah! lozzle, newlook, and kelly, just keep at it! As long as you do the right things most of the time, your indiscretions will not hurt you. Keep up the good work, everyone!
I always weigh myself at around 9AM, so I have to wait an hour and 12 minutes before I can. I'll be measuring myself as well, so wish me luck!
The First Friday! Alright so these are my official beginning weigh in numbers. I decided to take my measurements as well and it really helped me see where I need to focus my toning! I official start date of my dieting and exercising plan was last Monday, however I decided to wait until today to take my official numbers. I do feel like I have lost a lb. or 2 but these numbers will be my start...(drumroll......)
Weight: 179.2 lbs.
Waist: 36 in.
Hips: 44.5 in.
Thigh: 26 in. (yes that's just one thigh
haha)
Calf: 16 in.
Chest: 38 in.
Arm: 14 in.
My arms are my ultimate goal...I know that cardio will assist my entire body but I have found that my arms are just always chunky and I can feel the infamous "flabby shake" and I just cannot have that at 25! My legs will trim with my exercise routines since I do a combo of classes including dance, spinning, and weight training. I also do the eliptical which helps because I usually try to switch up the resistance. Any whoo...I am going to really have to work on my arms because once my arms slim up I will really feel so much better about myself!
I am off to a visit to my hometown Buffalo NY this weekend for a huge family reunion. I am fearing the amounts of beer and liquor I will undoubtedly consume but I am hoping that I can definitly stay away from the dessert table because honestly I'd rather party than eat cake! At least I will have a whole week to recover from the weekend...I am already looking forward to gulping the water and excercising my butt off!!! NOT!

I'm at 136.6. This is up 2 lbs from my low earlier this week which was 134.6. BUT, it's down from last Friday (137.2). So, I guess I can't complain. I really want 133 next week. Does that seem like an unhealthy goal? I guess it would technically be 3.6 lbs in a week and we're only supposed to lose 1-2 lbs a week. I dunno, maybe I'll just settle for 133.9. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO THE 120s!!! GARRRRGHH! Ahem, sorry.
Well, everyone seems to be doing really well. Lozzle, I'm with you on busting our a.s.s.e.s this week. If you wanna keep in touch via instant messenger, mine is the same as my screenname on here. Safiya, those tummy problems sound awful. Hang in there, dear. Congrats, mediar and jennelaw, on the pound lost! And don't worry, newlook, let's just get back on track for next Friday. and kelly, what are your true feelings on Mich Ultra? I know it's only 95 cals and I had 4 the other night which I budgeted for, but I realized when I was drinking them that they smell like rotten eggs. :( Am I crazy or do you notice it too? Anyway, have fun camping and let me know how you like pilates. I love yoga and really need to get back into it. It used to really help me with my overeating because when you get out of a yoga class your body feels so slim and healthy that you don't want to contaminate it with massive amounts of pizza you know? I bet pilates is the same. And finally, k837mh: Buffalo huh? I currently live in Buffalo. HOW CAN ANYONE NOT BE FAT HERE?: buffalo wings, beer, beef on weck, frozen custard, texas hots... I have never seen a place with so many unhealthy claims to fame! But so delicious too. I had Louie's last night, a veggie burger... yum! And I hate to tell you this, but it's the Italian Festival this weekend. Sausages!
Todeinotaton: What a small world...I live in DC now and I am always running into people from Buffalo. Yea the B-Lo is a hard place to watch your intake especially when they won't cut your off until 4 and then you know there' most like a mighty taco or jim's steak out open nearby! awww Memories. And Italian Fest! Man, luckily I'll be in Orchard Park on Saturday so I won't be tempted!

I'm up 0.7lbs since last Friday, but I know that it's because of that hot dog I ate yesterday. I wasn't thirsty so I drank less yesterday than I have in a couple weeks, that didn't help things. I know it's water weight because my scale calculates it. I'm normally at around 46.3% and today I was at 46.9! So I'm probably at least a pound lighter but eh. Better luck next week :D
so, I have a pretty hetic weekend. Tonight, i'm seeing my best friend. Which involves gossip, beer and wine. AND dancing!!!! THERE MUST be dancing. I'm counting on that to help everything else!
Saturday - I'm seeing my sister, who is pregnant, and eating like a horse, and shows me things like apple pie. OH DEAR.
Sunday - I'm going to my dad's *GOOD, becuase that's always a diet house, so what I eat there, will be fine* and then I'm having to go to army jail to see my brother. Stupid man, gahh, why'd he say he'd left the army and never had? It was ASKING for trouble.
Monday - I'm with my sister, but I will get home, and then excercises can commence.
So, I'll be excercising tomoz, but doing my run AND weights, so counter out my LACK OF run on sunday. And on monday, well, I'll have to FIND THE TIME to do my weights when I get back.
I will do it.
